Hey
Welcome newcomers!

I'm off track because we didn't have electric power for 3 days. I did my best to save refrigerated foods, unfortunately all my salads are gone. The only thing that survived is broccoli. They finally restored the power this evening. Living without power sucks! Thank good for wood stoves.

Anyway, I didn't eat according to plan because I simply couldn't. The weight is up and I don't want to see how much. I am planning to go back into Induction tomorrow.

I boiled kale and broccoli, plus I baked salmon and tuna steaks. I can have them with nice Ranch Mayo on the side.
Morning: coffee
L: fish, vegetables, mayo
D: the same

They have 4 different frozen Atkins meals at our local Walmart. I looked at every one of them and didn't like that they contained hydrogenated oils - very unhealthy and some maltodextrin or modified corn starch - those will create creavings... Have you tried them?? did you like them?

Been Mia this weekend, from the board and diet. Friday night my health took a dangerous turn, sugar plummeted to 20 and my temp dropped to 95.5. So my husband had me eat some pizza, and it corrected . So then yesterday I also had some bread to get it normalized. It's odd, it corrected the sugar imbalance, but made me sick.

So back on low carb, maybe not induction fully but a modified induction until i know it's safe

I need something to motivate me or explain what I'm doing wrong. First week I lost 9 lbs, and the second, not even one! I exercised almost every day and never cheated! Is this normal??? I want to quit if I don't see any change on the scale soon.

The exercise may be doing it, muscle weighs more than fat. I would go by clothing for and how you feel than the scale if that helps

hello all, I am on day two of induction, things are going good so far. I' m curious to see how day three will go, that is usually when I crash. We will see.

B eggs with peppers onions and cheese, turkey sausage and strawberry protein shake.

I have some ground beef thawed so I'm going to look for a nice recipe. I'm going to do 15 minutes of aerobic walking. Will that negatively affect my induction?

15 mins of walking shouldn't affect anything. It should actually help you speed up the metabolism. I do 30-60 mins. of biking , plus walking which is pretty much hiking up and down the mountain (to chat with my neighbor) every day...Keeps me in a good shape and burns calories. Ketosis is unaffected.

I am proud of myself for last night. I got terrible cravings for Magnum ice cream pop sickles that I still have in the freezer. I did not cave in! I had a strip of bacon and 2 Dove sugar free chocolates instead. Today, I am holding up pretty well too...

Looking for Induction Buddy/Buddies

Hello, I have been trying to start Atkins for a few months now, but I have never made it past a week. I'd really like some support buddies and after reading these posts thought you all looked great.
I have about 50 lbs to loose and am doing Atkins/Paleo. I have horrible migraines so I have to be careful not to eat any processed foods. I have read that ketogenic diets can help with migraines so that would be a plus along with getting my weight and eating under control.

I'm back...

Hi all! So it's been a few days and nothing has changed. I had some weight gain but I know it's because of cycle so no complaints. Today at work we had a team meeting with fudge, chocolate dipped oreos, cheese straws, pita chips AND HUMMUS. I sat on the opposite side of the room and remained strong! It was exhausting! Lol

Hello all!

Well, I've been away from the boards but still on plan. It seems like most are still moving right along!

Kelly - How did your day 3 go?

I managed to eat out 3 times over the weekend and stayed totally on plan. Yesterday was the hardest because my daughter was craving Mexican food! I had fajita's - no rice, no beans, no tortillas. It was still pretty good - but I love rice and beans - but I did not partake - not even a bite of a chip!

Today's meal plan:
B: Ham and cheese quiche
L: Taco bake (yummy - it's from Linda Sues - it has a "crust" - cheese, creamcheese, egg, heavy cream - which I am thinking I am going to use to try and make a pizza!
D: Going out to dinner (again) with my sis tonight. Suppose to go to the Golden Corral - I know they will have good choices (and some very very bad ones) I will have to really stay focused to stay on plan!

Happy low carbing everyone! Have an awesome Tuesday!

Hi everyone! I just read through this thread and would love to join you, if you'll have me. I just started day 1 of induction today, so I am quite a bit behind you ladies. But so far I have learned so much from you all and I'm hoping some accountability will help me.

I am 37 year old mom of two. My husband works out of town (he is gone way more than he's home) and it is very easy for me to feed my loneliness and stress. I work part-time and run the kids around the rest of th time! This morning I weighed in at 170. I am at my highest weight other than pregnancy right now (and when I delivered my first I only weighed 174!!!).

My biggest problem is that I can't stand eggs! I'm hoping to find some alternative breakfast foods.

Looking forward to joining in!

I'm falling off and don't know how to get back on. Without seeing a weightloss in a week, I gave into a cup of popcorn yesterday and a chicken nugget today. I need to see the scale change to motivate me again!

Hello Mel! You are more than welcome to join! I look forward to reading your posts and watching your progress.

Mecove: You can do this. You only have 25 pounds to go! I wish that was all I had. I want to be near your same weight but I have 65 pounds to go which seems insurmountable, but then I think, well when I started on 1/2/13 it was 76.5 pounds. Baby steps - you can do this!

If find it so much easier if I plan my food. I do spend hours cooking on Sunday, but I have two breakfast casseroles, and two dinner/lunch casseroles to eat at any time. I make up Jell-O and no bake cheese cake for when I get a sweet tooth. I carry beef jerky in my purse and water with me at all times, in case I get hungry. Planning, planning and more planning will make it all easier.

Stay strong everyone! We can do this!

Mel - I'm not a big fan of eggs either. I do make a Ham and cheese quiche - which only has 3 eggs in the entire recipe and for some reason - it's not that bad - lol.

I love BLT's (B&T wrapped in a L), plus no one said you had to eat only eggs for breakfast, grab a steak, some chicken - it's easy to mix it up.

I always suggest Linda Sue's (Welcome to Genaw.com) website - there is a bunch of yummy recipes and she *'s the ones okay for induction. I made a Taco Bake from her recipes last night and it was YUMMY!

Two muffins (small) for breakfast
Lunch will be atkins chicken Alfredo meal

i love reading your posts you guys are so inspirational x. I'm a newbie and your food ideas are brilliant. I'm just sticking to the basic foods right now as I am still in induction and want to use this time to reap the most benefits. Have taken note of your food ideas for future reference...

Where are you gals? I've been reading your posts in anticipation of my own "getting back on track" day and ... you're gone! I'm a 66 year old grandmother who started her life on the heavy side and found true en-"light"-inment by following Atkins for about ten years in her 30's and early 40's. But, alas! she fell to the side of the road and regained all her early weight and more. Now at 5'3-1/2" and 158#, it's time to get the lead out and do the right thing for my health as well as my appearance. I'd love to be part of this Induction Buddy group --- so is there room for one more?

B- an egg and Atkins shake
L- atkins shake with 10 macademia nuts
S- sf jello
D- wings no sauce or glaze
100oz water

The atkins shakes are going to bank-corrupt me. I think all the money I spent on coffee last semester and more is going towards them. Does anyone have any other ideas on something quick and easy and requires no cooking? I have so much studying to do and don't really have time to cook specially since this block is about to end and our exams are round the corner

If you have a blender, I would suggest picking up some protein powder like jay Robb and making your own shakes. Otherwise veggies, cheese sticks, if you have a sams or Costco near you they may have the shakes in bulk as well
