Starting over too!

I am on third day of induction this morning. So far 2 pounds weight loss. I have always used Atkins to lose weight, just wished I was a lot better at maintenance. I can't do wheat, rye, rice, beans, and this time I am going to figure out if that also includes flax, chia, carbalouse, etc. But that is in the future, as I am going to do straight induction and add the appropriate rungs and this time really see how I respond to the additional foods. I love to cook, but usually do most of it on weekends for the rest of the week. I work full time, and in the middle of training a toy poodle for competition obedience and I do therapy visits with him, and fairly active with the local kennel club too. I am 60 and 5'3", 142.4 this morning and looking to 120 as a goal, and see how I feel and look then. Even with 20 pounds overweight, my blood pressure has shot up. Would love having buddies and it came at the time I really need it! Cj

On day 5, have lost 6#. I weigh every day. It fluctuates a lot though. Was down 8 lbs one day then back up again. I know I need to drink more water. Never have been much of a water drinker. Am drinking diet rite, unsweetened tea with s&l mostly. Oh yeah also have an Atkins mocha frappe each a.m. That's 6 oz Atkins chocolate drink, tsp instant coffee, dashed cinnamon (for blood pressure control help) 1 scoop miracle green, s&l and ice cubes mixed well in blender. It's alot like starbucks and my hubs drinks a regular one too, not LC.

Injured my knee a few months back with exercise (lots of squats and lunges) dr said ok to walk for exercise but my knee swells......hoping that when this weight is off my knee will improve.

CjTitus- looks like you know how to work this, seeing your stats!...keep up the good work! Looking forward to losing that much and more myself!

Hello all! It's week 4 for me and I'm down 20 lbs and 15 in. overall my question is about birth control. I'm on the pill and was wondering if that might be hindering some weight loss. Don't want to stop taking it but was curious if anyone knew something about how it may affect the body in Atkins. Thanks

Hi there
Yes, birth control may affect weight-loss. Any kind of hormonal or steroid medication may affect body weight. If you are losing despite the b-control, then "don't kick the sleeping dog" and keep going, even if it's a slower pace then you would want.

mrsslate! I always go to Linda Sue's site for recipes (Welcome to Genaw.com) - she *'s the recipes sutable for induction.

Well I started exercising this week and since haven't lost any weight! I don't know what's going on but I'm sure my body will soon have a positive reaction and let go of some of the lb's!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

Decided to go back to HCG to lose 20 pounds and work on gluten free - high fat, medium protein levels when I get to stage 3 and 4. Will be posting in the HCG area until I get back to the maintenance levels again.

Hey everyone
I had a lot of chocolate on Valentine's Day - my hubby gave me a big box of Ferrero Rochers :white, milk and dark ones. Hmmm. it was so delish. Then, I was down to 124.2 lb, but thanks to all that sugar (it was worth it!), I am up to 125 lb. I just updated my ticker...no more going up! Only down.

Going to school (one class is still going)and it's snowing outside. It's so beautiful! I love snow.

What are your plans for today?

Hello. Today is my first day on Induction. I have a super crazy sugar/carb addiction, I am hoping this will help! I've got 20-25 more pounds to lose. The past year I've gained about10 pounds and need to get back on track! Looking forward to checking in with everyone.

My biggest worry is a menu. I really stink at meal planning. Seems like there are a lot of great recipes on this site.

Hi,

I am new to the site and trying to figure out how to use it. LOL I start reading a post and really get into it and want to join y'all, and then I can't find it when I log back in later. Any help would sure be appreciated and I'll try to find this when I come back! I am on week 3 of induction (and I did not cheat at all in the first two weeks) and only lost 4 pounds. Getting very discouraged, as I want to lose about 10 more pounds. Been stuck on this weight and it fluctuates up and down but I cannot get to my goal weight.

I went skiing yesterday and today, I weight 0.6 lb more than yesterday morning. My muscles are sore, but overall, I feel very good. It's supposed to snow any hour now...so I am considering not going today.

wow, really? 2 lb? Incredible. It must be a new muscle mass. Nothing else makes sense. My legs are quite sore from skiing and I am going on the slopes today too. Later this afternoon, it's school. I'll report my weight tomorrow again.

I'm not weighing again until 2/28. This morning I did 20 minute turbo jam, then rode a bike at the gym at lunch for 40 minutes. I have plans tonight so no more exercise today. I will be up again in the morning at 4:45 to do the 20 min turbo jam, then 40 min treadmill at lunch, then 1 hour Callnetics in the evening, oh and my volleyball league starts tomorrow - I can't wait!

Hello! Ive read that after a good workout your body naturally send more blood and water to muscles to help heal them... therefore adding water weight! I had this problem last time I was on induction and started doing some workout videos. I think your fine and once your muscles get used to it you should be fine!

I sure hope so! I'm waiting until next Thursday to weigh and measure. My fingers are crossed that I hit my February goal of 235. Well I did the Turbo Jam this morning despite being extrememly tired from staying out to late at the basketball game last night and I still have a long day ahead of me.

Menu today:
B: 2 Boiled eggs, 4 pieces of bacon
L: Baked pork chop, 1 cup broccoli/cauliflower mix
D: Grilled chicken, 1 cup broccoli, 1/4 cup alfredo sauce
S: 1 Boiled egg, 3 pieces of pepperoni

Exercise today:
4:45 am - Turbo Jam Video
11:30 am - 40 Minute walk on the treadmill
5:00 am - 1 hour Callnetics
8:00 pm - Volleyball games

Hope everyone is having a great week! Happy Thursday! 1 more day until the weekend!

Hi All!

I started back into induction on Feb 16th. Lost like 5.5 lbs the first day but seems that was all my luck for the week. It went back up about a pound and has been holding steady there for the last few days.

Been a bad girl and still having cocktails - so I'll be skipping those today and see if I can get the scale to jump down a bit more by tomorrow morning.

Also not been drinking nearly enough water. I hate the taste of water so picked up some extra cucumber today to soak in the water. It really helps the flavor.

Picked up some keto sticks and I'm reading a really dark red (past the 80 mark) so I'm hoping to make a couple of changes and be back on track.

Avocados are going on sale tomorrow - so going to pick a ton of those up this week.

Just bought some coconut oil for the first time - I was a bit upset as I went to smell it and was really hoping I'd smell some coconut! Oh well.

Also, been taking a gummy multivitamin. I really love them, but they are 3g carbohydrate. May have to go back to nasty hard vitamin pills if the alcohol exclusion doesn't change anything.

I'm trying really hard to talk myself into going for a walk this afternoon - but it is windy and cold outside. I think I just need to bundle up and bite the bullet - and picture the scale going down tomorrow morning.

what is Callnetics?

I went skiing yesterday and kicked-butt on skis. I was so tired afterwards, I could hardly keep my head up, but I had to go to school in the evening...I ate some chocolate when I finally got home. I needed something to perk me up and sugar did just that. I was afraid I was going to gain a lot of weight. This morning, however, nothing! No weight gain, no weight loss eigther. Interesting. I think I must have kicked my fat-burning into overdrive by skiing. I am still in ketosis as well. I am taking it easy today.

My current weight 125.8, blaaah.

It is a very dated video - lol. But there are entire threads about Callnetics in the Exercise Board on this site. Look at the before and after pictures of people only putting in 10 hours - it's amazing - which is what prompted me to buy and start the video. So far I've done 2/10, I really need to take a picture of myself before I get to far into it. I have the 10 & 10 video (10 years younger in 10 hours).

Here's the link, hope it works:

Hope everyone is still going strong. Well I weighed this morning (will take measurements tonight) and I'm at 235.5 only .5 shy of my February goal. Wish I would have made it but still happy.
