Boy, have we been lackadaisical on checking in. Sorry, I hope to be more available now. Back in my kitchen and able to cook. I've been stuck in a hotel for 3 days. We have a mobile home that we moved to some of my property and the electricity was not hooked up. I did hear to save stuff in the freezer, to fill 2 ltr bottles and freeze them. So we saved that.

Let me hear from you guys.

Hey Lindy what happened that you were in the hotel? Did I miss something cuz I'm confussed.

I'm having a rough month... I've been up and down all month. Went up to 225.8 which is more than I started the month out at. I finally went down to 222.8 but it's strange. I dropped 3# like overnight. Not sure what is going on.

Hey Laura, I had to stay in the hotel when we moved our mobile home to a small piece of land that I inherited. Total pain in the butt, but we are now home. It took time to set up and get electricity.

I do have good news. I have finally had a whoosh. Lost another 2 lbs Now at 229.6. It took long enough. Maybe my metabolism finally reset. I had gained up to 235 last week so it is considerable.

Don't worry about yours, It will come down.

Laura could it be your TOM? I often gain 3-4 lbs during my TOM, then drop overnight after day 2-3. Lindy glad things are getting back to normal for you! I have cheated all weekend and plan on stopping tomorrow to get back on plan....won't weigh in until Friday to see if I can drop some of the damage.

TOM started today but really no weight loss all month... I'm tired and feeling sorry for myself. Next month has to be better.

Woohoo!!! Good going. After gaining and losing 2-3 lbs for several months I've finally started losing. Down to 229.8 today....

So inspiring to see a loss, isn't it? I'm really looking into getting a small freezer for my local market veggies this summer. I know they are so much better for me and will be less expensive. Also, I'm thinking of tracking down a portion of a local grass fed beef sometime soon. I'm concerned about the genetically modified organisms (GMO's) I don't want Roundup in my meats and veggies. Definitely will cost me more but I feel strongly that we need to get back to the basics of our parents and grandparents eating habits.

I am in too! I really need to recommit, this is the 2nd weekend in a row I fell off the wagon. My time in the 160s was very short lived...I need to buckle down and lose these last 20 lbs.

Maybe start a small patio garden? I'd love to but my days of gardening are over. One thing you can do is make wholesome foods for your family. If you have more time, spend it in the kitchen. (If you like that thing.) I spend more time now planning better meals for my DD and her family. (Live with them). She is thrilled because she said that she has not had anyone cook for her for years..

Looking good Laura, Keep it up.....

I've lost the weight I gained this last week and another lb. Down to my lowest. 228. I've pretty much decided that this lifestyle is going to keep me young and healthy. Doing the Perfect health diet allows me to have potatoes and rice and really keeps the cravings down. It's a little more work because I have to cook them and then refrigerate them for several hours to turn the starch into resistant starch. That means it doesn't cause a blood sugar spike and I don't add fat. Pretty murky on the details because I don't have Paul Jaminets book on this but it does work.

Lindy - If it works for you it's a great plan. I don't seem to miss the potatoes too much. I had a fingerful of them to see if the mashed potatoes had enough salt for him the other day and it tasted funny. Who thought I'd ever say that.


Terra - keep it up the last few pounds are the hardest to lose.

I had another whoosh today down to 218.6

I'm still here... been a bit busy... cookin up some yummies in the kitchen now. Decided to make a chicken pot pie of sorts... since it has cauliflower and broccoli instead of carrots peas and potatoes I made a gravy from chicken broth but finished it like a cheese sauce. Cooked the chicken in grapeseed oil and butter with some spices and orange peel. Topped it with cheddar bay biscuits made with quickcarb. It looks so Yummy can't wait for it to get out of the oven.

Hello ladies!!! It has been forever and I hope you all are doing well!! My, my how our thread has dwindled! I guess I wasn't the only one that stopped checking in for a bit. I'm very happy to say, although I haven't been posting, I've been very much sticking to the diet with a cheat ever-so-often. But....I hit the 140s and have reached 149! Getting very close to my goal.

I'm moved... just not all unpacked yet. Had to come to work without socks today cuz I haven't gotten to that box yet. Hopefully soon. Going to unpack some more and bake in the morning when I get off work, looking forward to that. My first baking in the new place. I won't even be able to eat it but the guys at work are whining about wanting cupcakes... can't make them but gonna make an almond pound cake mix I have until I find my measuring cups.

Poor you, I hate moving. Done it 3 times in almost 2 years. Not going to any more... Yea!!!

Everything is going good here. I'm loving my kombucha set I bought. It's easy to make and is cheap. $1 gallon. Love it. Also I bought some milk kefir grains for the health benefits and it's good also. More expensive to make (milk) but still worth it. I'd love to get my family off all processed foods and sodas.

Only lost 2 more lbs this mo. But it's always been slow and at least it's a loss.

Everybody take care and have a lovely weekend.
