Hello everyone!
I have been lurking the boards all month of December, and I felt motivated to join after seeing all of your support for one another. I must say December is the HARDEST month to start induction EVER! I lost 2 lbs on my first week of induction, but completely fell off the wagon around the Holidays. I have a big trip to Hawaii in a month and would like to lose 5 lbs. I know it isn't much, but my weight has stalled for a few years now, and would like to get back to my "younger" weight when I was healthy and fit Breakfast - LC crustless quiche with spinach, egg, cheese, and bacon & coffee w/ hwc and 1 splenda Snack - 1 string cheese Lunch - Spaghetti squash with butter, cherry tomatoes, peppers, and 2 meatballs Snack - Sugar Free Jello *25 minute workout dvd* Snack - Salami with cream cheese Dinner - Leftover LC crustless quiche Snack - A cup of whipped cream! (I know it's bad but I love sweets!) 01/03/13 - 120.5 lbs |

Hey there is nothing wrong with whipped cream...as long as it doesn't have real sugar. I have an iSi whipped cream maker - it uses N2O cartridges. I fill it half or 2/3 with heavy whipping cream and then add a little davinci sugar free syrup- vanilla or chocolate flavored mostly. It really makes the most delightful treat.
I haven't had sugar free jello in a long time, but last time i did, I emptied it into a little bowl and added cream. Another really delicious treat. |

Morning everyone!
Jan. 3: 147 Jan. 4: 147.5 Jan. 5: 146 -- ok, that's better! I was very busy yesterday-- i had two sausages in the morning (small, long and thin) and went straight to a meeting from work, where I had the innards from half a tuna sandwich, a slice of swiss cheese and ham. When I got home I had a big glass of sparkling wine (freixenet-- really inexpensive but not very sweet) and a teaspoon of simply jif. Went to bed around 1:30am! My reward was a loss and today I'm wearing a new pair of skinnnnny jeans!

Shelly -- you've had a serious procedure and you're recovering so well - congratulations on that. It's great that you don't have to take pain pills. Maybe pamper yourself with some delicious LC treats- like a frittata or even a lobster or steak!

DQ my husband Promised me The biggest steak I could find when I had to do the bowel prep Lol! I told him yesterday that I had Not forgotten about that and he said as soon as I wanted it he'd grill it up for me. Gotta say I am So beyond blessed because this Manly country boy of mine has been at my beck and call since my surgery! Laundry, dishes you name it he's done it! I'm such a lucky girl!

Yesterday I had 2 coffees (1 with almond milk & coconut oil, the other with 2% milk), sunflower seeds (my daily indulgence), a 1/2 lb chorizo/beef/cheese burger and Indonesian beef soup. I usually drink at least 2 liters of water a day (gets more difficult on weekends when I'm not thinking about it). I'm really hoping to make my goal by Jan 21st and minimize the damage while on vacation - I plan to ignore the mango daiquiris (my favourite) and make my own palomas using crystal lite instead. The biggest challenge though I think will be passing by the homemade donuts & waffles at breakfast! Thankfully there is a restaurant that serves fried cheese so while DH is having tacos el pastor I won't feel so deprived. |

SO, usually by now, I would have fallen off track... Still going strong! I'm going to try adding more fat in for the next few days, though this low carb flu thing isn't as bad today! I am at least not falling asleep at my desk!
The scale went down some more which is of awesome even if it is water weight! Jan 1- 320 Jan 2- 320 Jan 3- 316 Jan 4- 313 As long as I stay on track I can definitely meet my Jan goal. My husband wanted to eat junk last night, and i've been cooking healthy so he tried to get me to cheat, but no... I wasn't even tempted! That's a big ole step for me. He felt bad after for trying to convince me to cheat. He's normally pretty supportive. |

Hi all!
Jan. 3: 147 Jan. 4: 147.5 Jan. 5: 146 Jan. 6: 145 Ok guys, so far so good!!! We will all be lighter by the end of the month! I love chinese food too, but you just can't trust restaurants unless you order it steamed. I usually get steamed white chicken, broccolli and mushrooms, with hot oil on the side. Years ago I used to order moo shoo chicken without the plum sauce, but i suspect that there is corn starch / sugar in it and so don't eat that any more. |

Morning all!
I weighed this morning! Yay me! Lol! Jan goal- 153 jan 5th- 158 not to bad for me since I haven't been 100% LC this week. I'm finding it really hard to cook since i'm not supposed to be on my feet and walking a lot after surgery. Some is good but I over-did it Thursday and oh man I paid for it yesterday with Lots of pain! I will say i'm amazed I haven't gained a lot more weight. |

Earlygirl - I have gotten more and more bold as I continue to eat low carb. I will now ask the waitress for whatever meat I want (steak, chicken, pork, shrimp) grilled with no sauces and the house garden salad no croutons w dressing on the side. I usually stick to ranch dressing, because that normally does the least damage. I have seen others simply ask for oil and vinegar. Good luck on the night out!
Shelly - so glad to see that you are feeling better. definitely do not over do it. I know there have been different reports on the Atkins meals, but you might consider these until you can get back on your feed to cook again. I would if I were in your shoes. Good luck! Speedy recovery! |

Good morning everyone - I hope everyone is staying on plan and having a great time doing it. Some friends of mine started a month long weight loss challenge this morning - so I went in weighed in, in the cold weather. Everyone paid $5.00 to enter there were 7 of us so the winner after a month will get $35.00 - not to shabby and a great way to stay motiviated. I haven't been exercising so I went for a walk with them today then I will go on a small hike in the morning. After that I will do an exercise video in the morning before work and maybe one afterwork. I want to win this thing :-)
Well happy weekend and happy planning everyone. |
