Tasha I have the same thing. I had an endoscope thing a few yrs ago and it showed Gastritis too along with the acid reflux. I can't take anything for my pain but tylenol because aleve and advil Kill my stomach. I take dexilant for the ar but it doesn't seem to be helping to much lately

I take omneprazole for mine and it really does seem to help. I've taken so many different ones, had an allergic reaction to a couple, but this one seems to work for me.

I have a question for everyone. I hate water, can't stand it alone. I drink my water with Great Value Peach Tea(Generic Crystal Lite). Is this ok and does it count towards my water intake? I just can't make myself drink water by itself. I usually drink 2 of these a day in a 32 oz cup, sometimes 3.

sueshe - I think the water thing is an individual tweak you have to check out for yourself. I usually experiment with things like that. Could you stand to drink only water for like a week and compare it to a week you drank the tea? IMHO that is the only way you would know. My DH does low carb and has trouble with water. He decided not to give up his Diet Mountain Dew, but to only drink it away from meals. He has a glass of water with every meal. This has worked for him. Hope this helps.

hi everybody... on a liquid fast today.. having a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. i haven't started the cleansing drink yet and i'm not looking forward to it. i'm so hungry this morning and feeling so anxious.... my weight this morning jumped up 3 lbs....i have no idea why....

i'll be glad when this is all over....

I'm not sure if I could or not. I have never been a water drinker, always seems to upset my stomach if I drink it alone and kinda makes me sick to drink it by itself. I may see if I can try it. I still allow myself my diet caffeine free cola but I have cut way back from what I was drinking. I drink it at lunch and sometimes will have one at supper and on the weekend I have one or two. I was drinking 3 32 oz cups a day. I start to panic now if I don't have my Peach Tea. Isn't it ridiculous how we attach ourselves to stuff like that?

If I can psych myself out enough, I may try for a week and see if it makes any difference.

mydear-I feel for you, just had one done in November. The prep part is sooo not fun!!! That' 3 pounds will come off quickly after the prep! I always have trouble eating for several days afterwards, the cleansing really bothers my stomach. Good luck with it!! Hope you get good results.

Ugh MyDear! I had to do the liquid diet and bowel prep before my surgery. Miserable! I did lose 5 lbs though Lol.

Hopefully the three pounds is just from the stress of worrying about the procedure and you will see a nice drop over the next few days. Praying everything goes well.

1. I have exceeded my weight loss challenge goal!
2. I have gotten into a good routine of working out 3-4 days a week.

February goals:
1. Get back into a good habit of taking my vitamins and supplements daily.
2. Increase my workouts to a solid 4 days a week.
3. 8 more pounds lost (February Goal=165)

BTW, I'm headed to Phoenix and Vegas Saturday through Tuesday to spend some alone time with my DH! I am very excited to be doing it 45 pounds lighter!

I went to the thrift store this week and last week and picked up some "new" clothes. I have lost another size and am just overwhelmed with the great things that LC and renewing my running is doing for me! I'm so excited for what seems like a new life!

Part of all the excitement is that my DH is eating LC now too. He has almost caught up if not surpassed me in weight loss, but I knew he would (It seems so much easier for guys). Also, we have not seen each other in two weeks because he is travelling for work. In case you didn't notice I'm a little excited!

Had a pretty good night last night. Didn't get my walk in, but went to get my hair done after work, had to wait quite a while, she was running behind. So, I played on my phone for a bit, but didn't get done until after 7:00. When I got home, dh had supper waiting for me, he's so sweet. He hadn't eaten, was waiting on me to get back so we could eat together.

Dr visit went well. She told me to stop taking advil or any form of ibuprofen or aspirin and she wants me to try Aleve for a couple of weeks for my headaches. She said she doesn't want to just throw a pill at it but needs to alleviate the pain while trying to find out what is causing them. She told me to increase my Vitamin D to 1000 iu's a day and see if that helps. If neither of those helps in a couple of weeks she wants me to call her and she will prescribe a very low dose of a medicine, I can't remember what she called it, but is given to migraine patients to keep headaches from occuring. She said it sounded like I was having a mish-mash of all kinds of headaches. Tension, cluster, sinus and migraine. So....we'll try all that and see if it helps. I haven't been on my new cholesterol medicine long enough for her to test to see if it is working, so in three weeks she wants me to have some more lab work done for my thyroid since she changed my dosage, my vitamin d and cholesterol/triglycerides. So, we'll see. She was very happy I had started walking and I had lost 6.5 lbs since I was in her office the last time....she was happy about that too Told me to keep doing whatever I was doing...so I will.

Today's goals:

walk 30 minutes or longer if I can and drink 64+ oz water

Today's menu:

B: bacon and 1 pc sausage
L: salad and ranch dressing
D: hubby put roast in crockpot, so I'll have that and asparagus tonight

Hope you all had a good day yesterday and a better one today.

Hello everyone! whew! coming up for air after working two 12 hour days? somethng like that. shelly and sueshe i'm a journalist -- on my days off (which i took this tuesday and wednesday) i sometimes help a friend who has a medical journal - and i usually cover FDA meetings on new drugs and devices. The drugs I covered this week were for COPD (the panel recommended approval) and for cystic fibrosis (the panel gave it a thumbs down). It's very nerdy, but I think it's interesting. My real day job is in television network news, which can be a lot of fun!

i couldn't weigh this morning -- but i will tomorrow and post on the new February challenge. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE here- we really are a determined and focused group and i am SO HAPPY to be part of it. MyDear your new photo is FANTASTIC!!!

Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

Well after a week or so totally off track I have managed to end the month 3lb lighter than I started it. which although not great is better than nothing. I am trying to focus on that if I lose 3lb a month that is 36lb in the year which would be really good
