I can't leave the Induction Babies! I owe my improved stamina and health to this thread as much as I owe it to the diet and to my friend who's training me.

I've actually been on OWL since the first Monday in March, when I moved up to the first rung and added more induction veggies per day -- but I'm not leaving the Induction Babies.

You guys and gals are just the best teammates!

Thank you, Trillex! Your success is certainly going to be a source of inspiration for me. Your pictures are amazing.

Squirrel Watch: I love your idea for a goal weight present being a pretty ring. As a fellow jewelry lover, I can definitely relate. Lol

I got to the grocery store finally over the weekend. I got all the food and snacks I need. After eating right for a couple days, It is like night and day. I feel so much better. I need to keep my fat and protein up. When I don't my blood sugar issues crop back up. It wasn't even that I was eating the wrong foods because I wasn't really. I just wasn't getting enough of the right foods. Hope this will help others to stay on track.

Hi. I'm Kat and I'm new to this but I've got to do something. I'm 5 foot 4.5 inches and just over 200 lbs, with all my weight in my belly so I look perpetually pregnant. I've had 6 babies and after #6 made sure there were no more coming, so now I am focusing on me. My husband did Atkins a few years ago and lost 40 lbs in 2 months. Not that I expect to have that drastic of a loss but my goal weight is 140. I am also nursing so I plan on finding a good multivitamin or vitamins to ensure he isn't affected by this. This will be trail and error, with tweaking it as I go. I look forward to reading other posts to help me along.

this fat bomb tastes like a peanut butter cup... something I've been craving since Easter. When I get a day off again gonna have to try some other combos and see what I can come up with.

How is everyone doing? I'm still at 224.4. but going up less each day so it will catch up at some point.

Congratulations on getting down to the low 220s! I'm excited for you to get past 219. From reading the forum, it seems like the milestones tend to sneak up on people. It's like they *flirt* with it and then just speed past.

Welcome, Kat!

I read on a different thread (from a poster called Arctic Mama) that nursing makes the body burn more calories -- so you have an advantage!

I'm sorry I'm so sporadic with posting lately...May is my busiest time of year as a music teacher. Talent shows, choir concerts, piano recitals, band concerts! AGGGGGHHH!

BUT - I'm staying focused and on track and am now down to 173!! I'm SO excited. I'm even auditioning for a lead role in a show tomorrow (Jekyll and Hyde - the Musical), and I finally feel thin enough to do so! I'll let you all know how it goes...so much competition out there, but I'll do my best!

Why thank you Trillex. We have been here since the start of the thread. I am glad we have helped keep each other on track.

I need to get a scale so I can give an update. It has been awhile. People are continuing to say I look thinner, even folks I saw just a few weeks ago. I have never posted pictures here of myself, maybe I should do that as well.

I started posting pictures and measurements because I felt like I didn't have any *big* people that I could look to as examples when I started. I would see photos and updates from people and then, when I looked at their stats, I would see their starting weights at something like 175 pounds and they would look amazing after having only lost 25 pounds. And I felt like I couldn't relate to that at all, because 25 pounds was a drop in the ocean for me.

And I would look at the threads in the "Century Club," where everybody has at least 100 pounds to lose, and there were great details about pounds lost and the number of clothing sizes lost. But people don't post photos over there very often and a lot of the photos that are posted are face photos. So I still didn't feel like I had an example of a *big* person, doing Atkins, that I could look at to see what kind of changes I *might* be able to expect. I understand that individual results vary but, when I was first starting out, I think that just seeing some photos of people that I could relate to would have given me even more reasons to work hard and have hope for my future.

My trainer and I were documenting everything already. So I just started posting the details in case someone like me comes along, looking to see what kind of progress *big* people have made on Atkins.

The fat fast is a NIGHTMARE! In my opinion... I tried it for 4 days at the end of my first month because I couldn't make the keto sticks change color and I wasn't sure I was in ketosis, so I tried doing the fat fast to *force* my body into ketosis. But I still didn't make the darned sticks change color!!! Even eating 1,000 calories per day with 90% fat for 4 consecutive days. AND I felt queasy and weak and sick and nauseous the whole time. I almost *never* have tummy problems, but the fat fast made me feel like throwing up would be a blessing.

Some people seem to be able to handle it. I've just never been crazy about eating grease, so that probably had something to do with my physical reaction to the fat fast.

Welcome back, Kiwi!

I'd originally planned a vacation in Italy for this month, but I had to postpone for various reasons. And I'm SO glad I'm not going this month! I don't think I'm ready to be in a foreign country without a lot of control over my meal preparation at this stage of my diet. We're thinking of traveling in July, so I'm working my butt off to get closer to goal by then. I'm not planning to eat bread and pasta and gelato -- I can totally dig some great Italian meats and cheeses. But I know there will be a lot of "hidden" carbs in meals that I didn't prepare for myself. So I'll feel much more comfortable if I can get within 10-15 pounds of goal before I put my meals into a stranger's hands.

I absolutely agree. I won't be trying that ever again. I was so sick for HOURS. I ended up sleeping it off the rest of the day. ugh.

Now that the April challenge is over I am weighing only on Sundays, this is my first weigh in for May. I'm down 1lb. I won't feel like I have OFFICIALLY broken through my 175 wall until I'm a good 5lb distance from it at least, but it is nice to see the trend is down and not up, finally =)

I think Big Stevie has said that artificial sweeteners affect his blood sugar? I've been trying to cut out all artificial sweeteners, so I haven't had any for about a week or so. Today I got a craving for something sweet, not sure why, but I decided to try one of DH's Atkins bars. The first one was a brownie, I took a tiny bite to taste it. It was WAAAY too sweet. So then I tried a chocolate crunch bar. It was good, sweet but not TOO sweet with a nice crunch. And then afterwards I felt my heart rate elevate, I started to get clammy and kind of a cold sweat, sick to my stomach. Does this sound like the sugar alcohols? Have you heard of this before? I've been sick all weekend! First from trying the fat fast and now from an Atkins bar. Quite a compelling argument for sticking to REAL, simple food!
