Banta diet, now that's one I've never heard of. 14lbs in two weeks?? Daaaaang. Were you not low carb before that??
Yes, I was lowcarb and stuck on a plateau. This was a long time ago. It was when I did Banta that I got unstuck and lost that weight. There are some old threads and recipes on here if you search "banta" or "banta babes". It was soooo indulgent but worked.

Trillex I am the same way. If I don't like the texture of a food no matter how good it is I can't or won't eat it. There are certain foods that I just love the way they feel in my mouth. I know it sounds gross. I have never known anyone else that feels like this. Thought I was weird. lol!

I've never heard of flax cereal, what is the brand name of the cereal?

OMG, I totally get you! Flavor is almost always secondary to texture which is the hardest part of this diet. In fact, when I was eating normally, I couldn't bring myself to eat a fully ripe banana due to it being mushy, and always prefer peaches, mangoes, pears, etc to be firmer than the average person would like.

welcome Jonno!

Salis, lol..flax 'cereal,' is my own concoction..it's the same ingredients as the muffin, but you don't put the egg in..you heat it up for about a 1 minute and voila! It's quite tasty(or I'm just weird!!)

So I'm UP 2lbs again this morning

Ok, it's not that funny. Some stuff I had yesterday did have a lot of sodium. But still, I'm right back where I started, almost a month ago.
That doesn't seem right.

Congrats on the weight loss Sails, Kerensa, and 5Kids !

Betty, Have you ever posted your menus on here or in ******? You probably have but just checking.

Nikki!

I am really digging my hypnosis audios. My clothes are fitting so much looser and I know it sounds weird, but I am actually starting to see myself as a thin person.

B- 4 pieces bacon and a cup of coffee with cream
L- nothing
D- 1/2 cheeseburger on lettuce with mayo and 1/2 greek salad with chicken
S- Handful of peanuts (not induction, they are my vice.)

Good morning everyone!

5kids - I agree that it is easier to stay on plan, when you have a plan! Also, that is pro going 45 minutes on the elliptical. My DH says I am built like a linebacker, but honestly, 5 minutes on the elliptical kicks my a** , literally.

Neezie - Which hypnosis audio do you use?

Betty - I always feel better once it stops going up. Like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep it up girl, you can do it!

sails - Keep plugging at it! you will get the results you want!!

The menu for today:
B - 2 fried eggs, 2 slices bacon, coffee with cream and stevia
L - Small salad, 2 salmon muffins (leftovers)
S - 1/2 avocado, 2 cheese sticks
D - small salad, spicy sausage casserole

Have a fantastic day everyone!
Kerensa

I guess I'm doing the '72 approach since I'm not really doin dairy.
And I'm gonna just do the 1 cup/2x per day of approved salad veggies.

Meal 1- 1 cup of salad made with spinach, cuke and celery
4 hard boiled eggs
3 slices of deli turkey(preservative free)
1 tbsp mayo and a little apple cider vinegar

snack- more hard boiled eggs

Meal 2- chicken thighs

*I normally 'fast,' or skip breakfast. First meal is usually 11am or so.
If I can prove one day that this is prohibiting weight loss then I'll eat breakfast as soon as I roll out of bed!

So my weight has yo-yoed a pound or two either way, but I'm down about 8lbs in 3 weeks.

And today I was going to have lunch, but when I got to the fridge at work, I realized that I wasn't hungry. So I didn't eat. I'm usually a hungry hungry hippo by 2-3 if I haven't had anything since breakfast. That felt good.

Just checking in. Still doin it. I am getting really sick of breakfast. I am searching for something new to eat. The last couple days has been fried pork carnitas style.

I just introduced back in some caffeine in the form of ice tea. It has made me hungry. I am going to get back off of it.

I am in for the long haul. Everything pointing in the right direction. Clothes still getting looser. I went to the thrift store and bought a couple new pairs of pants. I don't want to spend money on new clothes until I get closer to goal weight which will be at least 6 months. So until then, it is thrift store shopping for me. Pants were only $5. I have agreed to give or throw everything out that is too big for me this time. I am not keeping it around in case I go back up.

Betty- Let us know how this plan works for you. Here's to the scale going down.

Sails- Nice menu. Does your peach salsa have sugar in it? I miss fruit sometimes, but it messes with my blood sugar.

Kerensa- The audios are from a lady named Sierra Goodman. She lost 170 pounds in one year using visualization.

Laurel- The no hunger thing is one of my favorite aspects of Atkins. I was obsessed with food 24/7 most of my life. Dreaming about it, craving it, planning it, etc. Now, I kind of forget about it most of the day.

Big Stevie- Caffeine and alcohol both mess with my blood sugar so I guess my body decided I can't have them anymore. LOL. So great about the clothes getting bigger.

For me,
B- 2 pieces bacon, one sausage link, one egg, hollandaise.
L- grilled chicken on greek salad
D- "nachos" made with pork rind "chips"
s- peanuts. (ugh)

Hi Laurel! The appetite suppression is a nice side affect.

your doing awesome! I like how you sound so positive about when you will be at/near your goal. Can you look into you crystal ball for me?
My breakfast hardly consist of 'breakfast.' Maybe that's because I don't eat as soon as I wake. Traditional breakfast items are tough on this plan. What about protein pancakes or somethin? Have you tried scotch eggs?
Just throwing some ideas out there!

Yes, it does have sugar, but the little bit that I use does not bother me at all. I don't eat it all of the time and when I do I only use 1 tablespoon.

Sails, sounds like you are fine with the peach salsa, which sounds delicious btw. Sounds like you are really busy prepping for school.

Betty, Whoohooo! Do you think the no dairy had anything to do with that?

What is everyone up to this weekend?

I am going to a concert tomorrow night and out to dinner. Any ideas on good safe low carb dinners out?

Caesar salad minus croutons? Grilled steak with roasted veggies instead of potatoes? Or if you're at a different type of place, wings.

no, I don't think the 'no dairy,' did it..just water going away with TOM.

I'm going to try a modified fat fast next week and include cream cheese at least.

I don't feel dairy is the missing puzzle piece for me in my weight loss goals. I never ate that much to begin with. Just 2tbsps/daily for my coffee.

I can see if I was like 5-10lbs from goal and everything else in the book wasn't working, then ya, I'd cut it out just to see.

I was super good yesterday as I knew we were going out with a friend later that night. I was at under 9g carbs. Then we had some lamb meatballs and a little caprese salad before we went out. I had a couple cocktails and had a bite of hubby's calamari dipped in what looked like a spicy but ended up being sweet dip. Ugh. Back to super careful! We have hubby's grandma's 94th birthday this afternoon, and I'm not counting on there being anything safe to eat as last sunday my MIL dropped by with "dinner" which was 3 pizzas and some breadsticks, knowing full well that I'm not eating any of that. I will probably just bring my own snacks and then be accused of being antisocial.
