Day One of Induction...again.

Hi. Mom of four here. I gained 20 lbs with each baby. All C-sections. I decided to get back on Atkins after I tried WW and didn't lose. Tried Jenny twice and it got too expensive and even did Nutrisystem via ebay and nothing. The only thing that works for me is Atkins. I lost 20lbs in one month and then started eating carbs again, plus my weekends kill me as I love carb loaded beer.
Well Hubbie's B-day is coming up in July and we are going away. I never wear a bathing suit, so I would like to surprise him and wear one.
So I started 6/18/12 again. I weighed myself this morning and I am down 3lbs already...why oh why did I get off Atkins.

Check our starting stats, daroyalle -- very close! I've been eating clean for 5 weeks, and am down 20 pounds today! Slowly but surely, it is happening! I can't tell you how nice it is to see my clothes starting to get baggy, and my energy level rising almost daily. The longer you eat this way, the easier it gets, and the more you KNOW that this is the path to health.

You can do this! You've seen how well this way of eating works, and you know you feel so much better once the weight starts coming off. As a mother of 4, I bet you can use the extra energy!!

And...Congratulations on your weight losses, daroyalle437 and GyspySixpence! Keep up the good work!

Hi All!
Mind if I join you?
I am just ending induction on Sunday.

Michele - same as you I want to lose 10......short, curvy....so every.pound.counts.
I just back peddled abit - Went from Atkins to SB and then kind of got a little careless.
Time to regroup and refocus.

you guys can do it. you got to stay focused and dont plan any cheats. just stay on plan. not a sip or even a small bite off plan. that could lead to cravings. i wish you all luck.

Finished induction yesterday, but going to stay on for a few more days.
DH was supposed to be doing this with me but he has a real hard time with will power.

I had some yoga pants on the other day, and DD24 told me she can tell I have lost weight!

Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum (just joined today). I started induction today and so far, so good. I've done Atkins back in 2008 and lost 30 lbs. Unfortunately, I gained it all back and more. I've tried all the other diets and nothing's worked for me the way Atkins does. So here I am.. 5"7, 191 lbs. and aiming to lose 30 lbs. Wish me luck! You all motivate me and I'm so happy I found this forum. The food porn thread has me all giddy!

Joining in..... I have been flip flopping between WW, HCG, and Atkins, which is just leading to gaining !!!!! Lost last summer on HCG and then didn't stick with Atkins and gained it back. I, too did Atkins aprox. 12 years ago and went from 128-108 in about 2 1/2 mos. Unfortunately, I now have more than 20 lbs to lose.

I am going to try not to put a time frame on how many lbs I want to lose by a certain date..... although I would like to be bathing suit ready by NEXT summer

I know that all plans work- you just have to stick with it !

I may have a planned cheat this week for my wedding anniversary - cheers !

Nice to meet all of you

LOL -- not to laugh but you will lose a lot more than 10 pounds in 2 months. You can do it! It will be much easier than you think!

IMO resistance training is the best on this diet.

It's nice to meet all of you! During the first two weeks I started Atkins, I lost 12 lbs. and that was without exercise. Now, I'm walking about 30 mins a day and staying away from the atkins bars. They stalled my weight the last time I tried doing Atkins, and I ended up falling off the wagon. Hopefully, I'll lose more weight this time.Good luck to all of you!!! Let's do this!

I work out 5-6 days a week. The day determines the length of the work out, but anywhere from 35-50 minutes.

I have worked out regularly since after my "baby" was born.
She turns 23 this year!

If I didn't, I would be struggling with way more than about 10 lbs. And it's the same 10 lbs I have been struggling with on and off for ever.......it's on, then off, then on, then off............

Hi all! Started induction today- I did Atkins briefly many years ago when I wasn't very committed; today I'm invested! I'm not really giving myself a goal but to get healthy by next Summer... I think I'll miss cocktails the most (and garlic bread)-- but one must suffer for beauty!! Good luck everyone!!!

Welcome to all who are joining this great board. You will experience rapid weight loss and luxurious feasts. If you can track or journal your food choices it will help you stay in the less than 20 carbs per day rule. Don't eat nuts or seeds during the first two weeks. Drink lots of water. Watch out for hidden carbs (lemon juice, SF chewing gum) that can put you over 20 per day. If you use powdered creamer in your coffee (I love that stuff) put it on the top shelf for now and use heavy whipping cream. I used the powder all along, but have now found that it is better to get the fat in your body to eliminate hunger early in the day. I say keep it simple, have food ready for you to eat in the refrigerator. Don't spend a lot of money on making complicated recipes-who has time for that? Read and reread every book Dr. Atkins wrote. I have most of them and even some of his early cookbooks. Check these boards daily, read and learn. Do not let others sway you to eat someplace that does not cater to our way of eating. Take your lunch so you won't be tempted by others' choices of meals. We are all in the same condition or we would not be here, have faith in each other and learn from each other.

Well said!

Real food is better food and better for you!!!!

Staying with induction for another week - more to detox than anything else. Not sure how much I am down as I was hoping for about 10-12 as a long term goal, but do know I feel better and my pants/skirts/dresses are fitting much better!
