Almond Milk

Is it okay to have Almond Milk unsweetened if you are in Atkins Induction?
I would love to add to my protein powder, and is protein powder ok. It is less than 1 carb per scoop....Jay Robb brand?? In Atkins Induction. I am trying this instead of Atkins bars and shakes because they say you can stall on them.

It's on the acceptable foods list I would watch the quantity you have, but otherwise yep it's allowed. Especially if you're using it to try to avoid the atkins products, i'd go for it!

Actually almonds or almond milk is Ongoing Weight Loss rung 1, not induction.
I would do the 2 week induction without almond milk and protein powder, but add them in after the 2 weeks and see if your weight loss stalls.

Best to do a clean induction with mostly fresh (not processed) meats, lots of veggies and good fats. Don't forget sea salt to help with the carb flu

For people that go strictly off the Atkins website and what foods are allowed/recommended in what phases.

Google: Atkins Phase-1 What You Can Eat

Unflavored/unsweetended almond milk is allowed in the beverages section. Almonds themselves are not allowed I believe. But the milk is. I personally won't be having much of it during my induction, BUT if it came down to having an atkins shake or making my own comparable shake, i'd make my own with us/uf almond milk.

do you consider that you have a serious weight problem? have you had trouble losing weight and keeping it off? if so, I really seriously suggest following induction strictly for a good bit of time, more than two weeks. no bars or shakes or stuff not on the list. part of this is physiological, to get your body used to low carbing, but it's also mental. after a couple months of really plain food, things like scrambled eggs, plain chicken, a few plain vegetables, after that you are more likely to really appreciate whe you CAN have and still keep to a really low carb count.

on the other hand, people lose weight a million different ways. it's not like adding a little almond milk will for sure make you unsuccessful, you know? we are all different.

good luck

The almond milk I found at Walmart (unsweetened) is 1g carb and 1g fiber per 8oz. That's what I will be using for protein shakes once the powder I ordered comes in.

It's Silk Pure Almond original unsweetened. Make sure to check the label though, I bought a carton that looked the same and realized it had 7 carbs per serving after a few glasses.

I used it during induction and it did not stall me! I continue to use it. 1 g of carbs 1 g of fibre is a 0 net carb. Not going to hurt you.

This will depend on what version of the diet you are following. DANDR, no. Current web site YES.

Personally I would stick to the diet as Dr Atkins wrote it but YMMV. People are successful with all of the versions. One thing, do choose a particular plan to follow, it will keep you from getting confused by conflicting advice.
