The thought of eggs for breakfast makes me ill-?
I started induction today- for breakfast I made scrambled eggs with a handful of sharp cheddar cheese and diced up ham. I added a little mustard in while they were cooking to give them a little zip, but I got half way through and couldn't even look at them any more
. I have little to no appetite in the morning anyway, would a couple of slices of crispy bacon cut it? I know we are supposed to eat meals- but I will end up hurling if I have to face eggs every day, and probably eventually quit the diet due to the icky things. I tried making one of those chocolate mock danishes tonight to see how that was but it tasted like a chocolate omelet-no thanks *shudders* I have pored over numerous 'induction breakfast menus' but haven't found anything appealing other than the side of crispy bacon. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated! ![]() |

you can eat whatever you want for breakfast. it doesn't have to be bacon and eggs. Once I had ribeye steak, with butter fried squash, mushroom and cherry tomatoes on the side. A bowl of LC chili if you prefer. Some crispy bacon, Fried cheese, Whatever suits you. I don't like breakfast food for breakfast. I'd rather have fried eggs for lunch or dinner than for breakfast.
Sometimes RTD shakes do the trick for me if I can find one that's not icky tasting to me early in the morning. Sometimes watery veggies are what I like; celery, snow peas, cherry tomatoes, cucumber are a great treat for breakfast. breakfast just means to break the fast, eat what you like. Don't force yourself to eat food you won't enjoy. ![]()

Well thank you! I have a hard time wrapping my head around that I don't have to stick to the traditional breakfast foods.

You don't even have to eat breakfast. Eating early in the morning would often make me sick. I do intermittent fasting--basically eat all your day's meals in a "feeding window" period. Mine is between 12-8 pm. Google it!

Oh, I just discovered chia seeds. I have mixed some with some coconut milk (the kind with 45 calories in 1 cup) and let it sit for a while - 1/2 hour or and hour. I put some cinnamon and some toriani syrup on it and it is very filling (for me). I also have broccoli for breakfast with some cheese on it and lots of salt and pepper. OMG, good. Or I have a wrap with some lunch meat, fresh spinach, cucumbers, cheese, pickles, lettuce, etc. I generally will cut it into pinwheels and eat a couple for breakfast and a couple for lunch. Also, I always try and get at least 3 or 4 carbs of the veggie variety in a breakfast. I seem to lose better if I spread it out over the day instead of a giant salad for dinner. Oh, today I had some chicken that I cooked in the crock pot and put some cole slaw that I had made on top. Sounds icky, but it was tastey and low carb. Also, there is a thread about crack slaw, look it up. I eat that for breakfast too. I do the 5 or 6 small meals instead of 3 big ones...and it works for me. Good luck, you know you can do this if I am doing it!

Also, you may want to try eggs after a week or two. You may find your tastes will change.
I thought I would puke eating eggs in the morning at first. Now I just love them, can't imagine anything better for breakfast! 2 eggs, 2 bacon every morning, my favorite breakfast in the world now!! |

I'm allergic to eggs so they are never a part of my diet. Shoot, I eat roasted chicken thighs for breakfast. I make mine in a huge batch every week and have them in the fridge ready to go. I usually just make them with olive oil slathered on them, add whatever season I feel like that week, and into the fridge they go. Nothing says that you have to eat eggs just because it's breakfast!

I have never been a breakfast person either and my biggest "snack time" is usually later in the evening when everything calms down. I did a google search for intermittent fasting and came back with a million sites with various information. I'm too tired to slough through them right now (just waiting for the washer to be done so I can throw another load in before I go to bed) but I would love a brief run down of intermittent fasting and also, if you could, how does that affect your metabolism? Mine I think works in reverse anymore. LOL Would this not put you into "starvation mode" where your body starts hoarding fat and nutrients? That's always my biggest concern when I do skip meals is that I've somehow broken my eating cycle. But sometimes I just don't want to eat! Is this something you do every day or only for certain periods of time? TIA!

I am really struggling with breakfast as well. I simply do not like eggs. I have been eating a lot of bacon, tomato sandwiches with lettuce instead of bread. But I am becoming tired of those. I sometimes eat the 1 minute muffins. I need something different. I also need to eat some carbs in the morning. When I don't eat any carbs for breakfast, I don't feel good after by mid morning.
