Which Carb Counter to use?

Good evening everyone. I started induction about one week ago and judging by the symptoms and the ketostix, i've only hit ketosis this morning. (I think the sugar free gum was stalling me)

My question relates to which source to use to count the carbs. I've been using an Atkins induction sheet that i found on the internet to count my carbs. However, I just obtained his 2002 book - New diet Revolution and for certain foods, the carb count is WAY off! I am extremely concerned. Furthermore, the book doesn't include the fiber count so you don't really know what is going on there. I am just very confused and hope that someone can refer me to a good and reliable source to count the carbs. I really want to do this right.

well thats good, Rina85, I am going into my third week, and still haven't hit ketosis yet. Not sure of what I am doing wrong, are you taking advantage of the bars and shakes, cause I use them from time to time, I am just at the second purple on the ketotis stick with 2 more to go...are you in deep purple, and have you experienced fast weight loss? Info would really help. Do you use sweetners at all?

I'm confused...you said you haven't hit ketosis yet but are at the 2nd purple? ANY change on the ketostix indicates ketosis.

I use ******.com, also! I believe they use the USDA information found HERE: NDL/FNIC Food Composition Database Home Page

We (in the USA) allow some foods to be listed as 0 carbs even when they do contain a little. I think the USDA collects the information and posts it in their "food composition" database

I think it can still have .5 carbs and be counted as no carbs.
