Bahama Mama Bikini Challenge - 2012

The 2012 Bahama Mama Bikini Challenge!!

8 week challenge starting 04/13/12 thru 06/08/12 weigh in's are...yes...Friday!

we are here to support each other, regardless of the WOE and are challenging ourselves to be bikini ready for the summer.

Start Date: June 2011 (this time round)
Ok first time I've joined in with one of these but I don't have much to lose and I guess it struck a chord with me.

I only have around 7lbs to lose to get to my ideal weight of 154, I am 5'9" and have a large bone sructure (yes really! Ridiculous shoulders and legs 89cm long!!!)

My highest weight has been around 182 and have been following Atkins/LC on and off for around 9 yrs, although I have had my most consistent results over the last year with a more Paleo approach.

My goal is to wear my bikini without worry on my 3 week Florida vacation in August but will make my goal June.

I will attempt to get more involved by updating my profile and perhaps even posting pics

Anyway enough rambling first weigh in : 161lbs

i started to hide because i went off plan but i HATE when people do that so here i am

me and my husband had a rough couple days together. no need to get into details of course but a bicker just turned into a big deal if ya get me... so anyway i was miserable and had a HUGE chinese food dinner last night- the works! i was trying to hold it together but after a couple days of not having my best friend aka hubby by my side, i just caved. well, we caved together

so now im back! even though im still going through things and even though my weight is back up to 163.6 ( oh, and the night before i went to a baseball game and for the first time since last year got drunk that sure didnt help the scale either but at least that was fun!)

this time i didnt have any bad effects yet- i was scared those 3 bowls of white rice would have me up all night shaking from the carb load! i slept like a baby and feel good so far, just looking out for a rough couple of days with my cravings coming back im sure...

instead of dwelling, heres things im proud about:
-i know i caved last night but i went a good couple days feeling very bad and i didnt run immediately to food like i have done in the past.
-the 163.6 isnt as bad as i thought! i know i shouldnt be proud of this but whatever
-i still think i can do this. will i miss my next goal? maybe. but even though i had set concrete goals i have this vague goal of just wanting to be under 150 by september. a new school semester and starting out fresh! so that goal is of course still possible!

and thats my story for now! now time to copy and paste since i need to rush to get ready- sorry for those that i post on multiple threads with!

Me too Beach. I know we're not really supposed to exercise on p2 if we haven't already been doing it consistently, but I somehow doubt that moderate cardio is going to have a negative effect on me. I'd like to get back to at least walking a mile a day. That's 15-20 minutes out of my day, I can do that.

I know that feeling. I'm the WORST emotional eater and getting into fights with the hubs usually sends me straight to the fridge. So good for you for controlling yourself for the last few days and keeping it to only one cheat meal. No big deal. Any weight you gained will come right off in the next few days!

Morning All!

So, I'm only down a few ounces today. Maybe too much cabbage yesterday? It was the first day that I ate anything other than p2 chili and my fruit this week, so maybe...I still haven't really gone to the bathroom all week either. Thinking I should have some smooth move tea tonight. I don't want to cut out the cabbage yet because I really like the cabbage salad I make. And if I'm afraid to eat raw cabbage for fear that it will keep me from losing weight...then there is definitely something wrong with this world. lol

So I'll keep it in the menu for the time being.

This is my first time doing Atkins. I had a baby last July, and since then I've lost 65 pounds total. I started Induction January 30 and I'm down 25 pounds at last weigh in. My goal is 150 by July 21, my LO's first birthday!

I've been trying to get out of the 180's for the last few weeks. Last week I was at 180, today, 179. Finally!!!!

Think this is when I joined you all last year. Goal for now is just to keep maintaining at this level while we settle in to a new state. I've pretty much worked out that as long as I avoid wheat I can cope with a few carbs and still stay around this weight, but there's been a bit too much sugar sneaking in recently and that has to stop.

hanging my head in shame and finally getting the courage to post it try as I may...today isn't going away and either is the number on the scale
I started off trying to do a CD...but it didn't happen hopefully the scale will be kind tomorrow but I have been struggling with maintenence (obviously)

if you want a maintenance weight goal of 135 then i think 139 isn't too bad! i think between 5 lbs of your maintenance is pretty reasonable. so no shame, thats a great weight! just start today with cutting out a snack or something? and thanks for the hugs, back at ya

going shopping today i hate clothes shopping, always have but obviously worse at a heavier weight. have a professional conference to go to and i have no professional clothes. my birthday was a couple weeks ago so i saved the money so im not getting something cheap (for once!), i need these clothes to be very nice, and last! probably will just get one fancy outfit i pray that i find something because its my only day to shop, tomorrow will be too busy... why cant you just be professional in jeans?!

scale went back down today after the dreaded past week- so i guess im back on track again!

I've been MIA due to Fally's schedule. I've been staying close to plan but not enough to see good weight loss. No gain but zero loss in 2 weeks. I guess I'll have to accept it and move. I'll figure this out soon.

Asdf, I hope things straighten themselves out with your husband. I hate when something little escolates like that with us too.

Eating like crap but exercising a lot the last couple months. So I've only gained a couple pounds but of course need to go into loss mode. Lol

I've been extremely busy, it's the new normal for me now I guess, with 4 kiddos. Time to adjust to it and quit making it an excuse.

I'm really going to make it a priority to check in once daily.

hanging my head in shame and finally getting the courage to post it try as I may...today isn't going away and either is the number on the scale
I started off trying to do a CD...but it didn't happen hopefully the scale will be kind tomorrow but I have been struggling with maintenence (obviously)
