Hi DrDrew! I have to say I missed your humor. It helps make light of a stressful situation thankfully. I've missed all the ladies too. I'm so behind with all of these successful losses!
Oh and I'm making a motion if Drdrew makes his goal weight this challenge then he must post a bikini shot lol! Who seconds this motion? Say I |

Good morning! You guys are hilarious... Let me help you out Dr. Drew... I say you should choose a banana hammock. Super classy and tasteful
![]() Well I found out on Friday that I am invited to my boyfriend's family's house today for dinner. Yikes! Apparently this is not a little get-together... it's like a holiday. I've never met this side before but judging by the food that was at the other side's Christmas dinner... I am in big trouble. I know you're thinking I should just stash something in my purse... well here's the thing. These people are the type of people that may be offended if you're not eating their food.... the last time I met his family, they were asking if I had tried this or that, and why not etc.... ugh! I want to make a good impression and I certainly don't want to offend his grandparents. I obviously am going to communicate that I'm on a "diet" if anyone should ask why I'm not eating the bread or something else high carb. Oh why me?!? I thought for sure I'd have till the Fall before I'd be meeting this side. Of course it has to happen during my two-week induction when my goal was not to cheat at all! So now to my weekend eating... I did good Friday but yesterday I was hungry all day! I had a cabbage wrap with taco fillings/dressings for breakfast, BIG chicken/bacon salad with ranch dressing for lunch, and "Beefed up Meatloaf" with spinach for dinner. AND I WAS STILL FRIGGIN' HUNGRY! I was already at my carb count and by the time 10pm rolled around (and while my boyfriend was shoveling tortilla chips and salsa into his pie hole) I was starving! I had some bacon..... then celery with blue cheese. I definitely ate over 20 carbs yesterday. Good news is I'm still in ketosis this morning... sometimes it takes me a day to be kicked out (probably definitely tomorrow after this darn dinner I have to go to). I still haven't drank any alcohol although I had a strong desire to go to the bar last night to dance and drink Jack & Diet.... probably because I was already thinking that I'd be cheating today. Thankfully, I resisted the urge. BTW that meatloaf is to die for... I make it AT LEAST once per week.... but I could have it every night... it's THAT good. Have a great rest of your weekend! Juls

![]() Good luck at the meal, Julsie. You could try claiming allergies or maybe even diabetes if you are really determined not to stray. I have no room to talk b/c if that were me I would probably just make his family happy and eat their carby food. ![]() Congrats on the losses, Angie and Dr. Drew. Angie, I always find that the weight falls off faster when I eat more. (((Chocgirl))) I feel ya with the SF chocolates. They are delicious but boy are they hard on the tummy. I like that they are self-limiting, regular chocolate just pulls you in for more! April Weights : Thu, April 5 - 178.0 Fri, April 6 - 178.0 Sat, April 7 - 176.0 Sun, April 8 - 176.8 Mon, April 9 - 177.2 Tue, April 10 - 176.8 Wed, April 11 - 175.6 Thu, April 12 - 175.0 Fri, April 13 - 175.0 Sat, April 14 - 175.2 Sun, April 15 - 174.8 I am happy about this morning's weight. It took me awhile to get back down here to the 174s and now that I have gotten here I plan on staying. I still have my goal of 169, but since I actually started all this on March 5 I think I will give myself until May 5 to meet that first 'big' goal. I did have a small victory - went to my cousin's baby shower yesterday. She has a gorgeous house and the cutest belly, and she is more pregnant (36 wks) than I ever made it to with my preemie. I was kinda jealous of her and bummed out. Normally I would have eaten all their carby goodies and cupcakes but instead I ate some raw low carb veggies, a few meatballs with the sweet sauce scraped off, and I peeled some chicken salad off of a pre-made sandwich and ate that. No alcohol was consumed. That's a big non scale victory for me.

Thanks asdf and chocgirl for your input. I think I answered my own question last night... I went out to eat with girlfriends, and I was feeling down about the inexplicable weight gain, and figured hey, if I'm gaining anyway I'll just eat whatever I want (which I did). And I must say, I felt HORRIBLE! I guess my stomach has shrunk and I'm not used to so much grease, but I felt retched afterwards. I think the Aktins gods were punishimg me for my idiocy. So, back on plan, and stowing the scales away. Weekly weigh ins might not even be advisable for me! maybe monthly, if I can keep up my willpower!
And I measured myself, which I'd never done before, and decided going by measurements might be safer. |

Mornin' all! So.... I went to the dreaded dinner and I did pretty well considering the circumstances. I had a Coors Light bottle, a half glass of (fake) cranberry cocktail... which was 32g of carbs on it's own. Yikes!
Other than those carb loaded beverages, I only ate ham, greens, string beans, and a slice of roast beef. No bread. No Mac-n-cheese. No dessert...which had endless variety. So I'd say under the circumstances... not too shabby even though it deterred me from one of April's goals. I also went to Atlantic City afterward and had (2) Jack & diets.... why not, already had the beer so my body was working off alcohol anyway. I know, I know... wrong mentality... ![]() All in all, I think I did fairly well. I could have avoided the beverages altogether but it was awkward meeting a bunch of people so I didn't want to be picky. Although in hindsight, having water is the least trouble you could give your host lol. Oh well. Back in the swing of things today! I'll check ketosis and weight tomorrow... Got to the gym this morning as well! Have a great day! |

Good job with damage control, Julsie!
Sometimes we can't be perfect, IMO. Yesterday I could have eaten well, but I just chose not to. I ate extremely LC all day - sausage and eggs for breakfast, bratwurst and hamburger patty for dinner, and then I went and ruined it by eating a piece of my mom's pineapple upside down cake. It is so good and she rarely makes it. I ate a small piece and felt satisfied, so I guess that is something. Need to bring something the next time!! Was expecting a gain this morning, but surprisingly I was under the 225 whoa!! Welcome Terissa!!!! Julsie, good job on keeping it together!!! Thanks so much angelface. I'm so thrilled at how great she's doing. It's like this last week she's been rapidly progressing this weekend she could pull herself up on my bed without help and into a chair. She has significant Hypotonia but I should said "had" because she's getting so strong. Thank heavens because my hips are killing me from lugging that 31 pound of sugar around everywhere.
In Atlantic city you came out with just a few cocktails, I consider that a success! I would have eaten so much crap. I love AC. My weekend was ok. I ate a small bowl of sponge bob pasta with Fally. We are working on her eating so I couldn't say no to her wanting me to try it with her. However that was it for my carbs for the day. I was over by 10 carbs for the day. Today so far no carbs yet just in case at dinner time she wants mommy to try it too. Still no losses I'm up 1 lb today as to be expected. It is what it is I'm learning to pick my battles. Drdrew, I can't decide whether I like your beer belly with the disappearing swimsuit or your borat inspired one piece lmao!! Thanks for the laugh. Angie, no worries my sweet that 1 pound up will disappear as quickly as it came. You are doing great

Hi Mandy!!! *waving* nice meeting you!! Its my second induction. I did really great up until last December, went to visit my mom in Holland (I immigrated 11 years ago) and that turned out to be extremely emotional. Besides that most of the Dutch food is not carb friendly LOL. Ofcourse I needed to taste it all....when I got back some other emotional stuff happened and I was off the wagon for sure!!
I do not know why I took me 30lbs gain to figure out I needed to get back on it. But here I am, not very happy about the gain, working hard to get back where I was and I wish I had a magic wand for that. It sure comes on easier then you get rid of it! Also, find it that the second time around with induction, it does not move as quick as it did in the past. @Angie, glad to hear that the little one is doing better, it always worries me when the little ones get sick. Glad he is almost back to his normal self!! YAY!! @drdrew, hard to pick one..I'm with Mandy on this one!! |
