What are everyones first week loses?
I'm just interested to know what everyone lost after doing this for 1 week?

I know it will range hugely but just being nosy really! and i find it kind of motivating!! :)

SuziD 03-24-2012 01:03 PM

well i have lost 4lbs in 5 days.
how is everyone else doing???

Milaandra 03-24-2012 01:26 PM

I lost either 6 pounds or 11 pounds the first week...I know that sounds silly, but I moved my scale early in the process so I'm not entirely sure of my starting weight. It has slowed down in the second week...my official weigh-in is Monday morning.

melisa82 03-24-2012 02:14 PM

Not sure how much I lost in the 1st week, but I lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks. and 1.2 pounds the 3rd week.

HealthyWifeForLife 03-25-2012 06:55 AM

6 lbs in six days :-) I'll officially weigh tomorrow for my first week weight!

3 lbs I think...I am losing inches not pounds but I believe that is the exercise I am doing :( that number on the scale sure drives me mental sometimes. I just want it to move

I have no idea actually! you'd think I would have kept track of my start date, but I've really no clue except that it was a couple of weeks ago. I lost about 13 lbs in 2 weeks...

my highest scale weight was 238 but I believe I started Atkins somewhere between 232 and 229...

Hi everyone, new to the forum. I did atkins about ten years ago, I went from 196 to 140 pounds in about 4 months. First, time out on induction I lost a pound a day every day for 9 days. I went in another direction and lost an additional 10 lbs but it took me years of killing myself with exercise. So, I went back to what I knew worked. I am really glad I did. I've lost 5 lbs in 4 days. Today is day five on induction and I really did not think it would work so well considering my current weight. :)

tracyhoch 04-16-2012 06:40 PM

keep moving forward
down 2 pounds in 7 days.

Naeemah74 04-16-2012 07:45 PM

I started induction April 3 at 167 and in 7 days was down 9 pounds; 158!! Today is my last day of induction and I'm 155!; even though TOM started yesterday and I may be retaining water, so I'm hoping the loss is even more.

Thanks all for the motivation!
Today is my first day and that really helps
Good Job!

ruca 04-17-2012 10:42 AM

I lost 6lbs the first week and 3lbs the second.

Stone 04-18-2012 01:38 PM

I just hit the one week mark and have lost 5.5 pounds. I'm very happy with that :)

tracyhoch 04-18-2012 03:17 PM

I was so freakin' happy that I lost 6 pounds in 8 days...and now I just realized I just ate ham with sodium nitrate in it!!!! Did I just totally sabotage myself?

jess 04-19-2012 05:16 AM

This is only my second day on induction, but I am not hungry at all. I haven't eaten anything yet, but I am not hungry at all... Is this normal? Is it possible that I am in ketosis already?

LoCarbBawl 04-19-2012 05:41 AM

I didn't time and date stamp my start either, but it's Week 1 today, it's right around 10 pounds. I'll walk a thousand miles this weekend if I have to, to bust under 230. I want to see the look on the scale's face.

Exercise may not give you what you want, it caused me to hold steady or gain. Eat boiled shrimp, or grilled fish and asparagus, they act as diuretics. Also try just meat and eggs for a day. The meat and egg fast takes it off fast. Water with a few drops of MINUTE MAID frozen (thaw it first) lemon juice is a strategy used at an HCG clinic in my town. Any more than a few drops will be counted as 1 carb per Tablespoon. Monitor your salt intake...put some in your hand and pinch it to spread over your food if you add it at the table. Sweeteners have to be counted as carbs if you use the powdered kind in the packets, so order you some EXSWEETZ drops from Netrition or Amazon for zero carbs- one drop is sweet, two drops have the power of several tablespoons of regular sugar.

I didn't weigh in at one week, but today is day 10 and I've lost 10 pounds.

dauflin 04-23-2012 06:50 PM

Been two weeks. Look at the scale everyday and it has the same number on it. Somedays I think it broken. I am using the shakes and bars and running 3 times a week (about 6 miles). My clothes don't seem as tight as they were when I started. I guess I am making progress. I just wish it would show it on the scale.

smilinsage 04-23-2012 06:55 PM

5.6 pounds in one week with no intentional exercise.

LoCarbBawl 04-26-2012 06:49 AM

Induction complete. Went from low 250's to punching in a 229 today, so 15+- pound loss. BP is dropping and sugar levels are plummeting. I walk half an hour on the parking garage inclines at lunch, and frequently 2 miles flatland morning or evening.

Two things I think are notable for me. Induction is fine with me. I didn't feel deprived, because I like meat/cheese/veggies just fine. I could do it pretty much forever. Now I'm adding in nuts and berries, which I also like.

The other notable thing I learned on this site, was reading Wheat Belly. Unbelievable! So I have permanently banned wheat from my diet, and also dropped coffee/diet cola due to their hyper acidic effects.

Today, for the first time in 20 years, I didn't take an acid blocker due to my hiatal hernia. I have always suspected that suppressing the body's natural digestion mechanism was probably a bad idea. My doctor didn't think so. If I live through the night without killer reflux, then the experiment can continue.

7.5 lbs in 5 days, but i'm going to the loo a lot for a wee (pee) so I think a lot of it was water, i'm on holiday next friday, going to spain, hopefully the mediteranian way of eating will see me ok, (not panicing much)

Shelbelicious 02-23-2013 04:55 AM

morning of day 6
And am down 14 pounds! I was expecting my weightloss to slow down but got on the scale this morning and had lost 6 lbs yesterday alone.:)

Julie1972 02-23-2013 05:01 AM

I started 1 Jan and I lost 10 lbs. the first week. However, since then I have only lost another 12 lbs. You lose mainly water weight the first week and it varies greatly from person to person. Weight loss rate is pretty inconsistent too so don't set expectations based on others or you may end up disappointed. It is important to remember this is a lifestyle change and mentally commit to it long term. You will learn over time how your body reacts to different carb levels. Good luck and stay strong!!!

In my experience, the first week gives a high loss number but some of that is waste. I am 5 days into my restart & -5.
My previous run was from 252 to 168 where I got stuck (-84). I seem to be particularly resistant or was doing something wrong but I still lost 1-2# a week. I soon separated craving from hunger & I was never hungry if I ate on time. Cravings should go away after a few days. If something triggers cravings, it has too many carbs or hidden sugars... avoid that item. It's taken me more than ten years of sloppy eating to get back to this state.
