WOW, it's been a week and a day since I last posted on here.....I truly miss you all, and want to say CONGRATULATIONS to your success .....It's been a busy week with starting graduate school and being in what is going to be a VERY demanding program (clinical social work), but I'm up for the challenge.....Also, this week I have experienced a very traumatic and scare which I had to get medical attention and as a result must stop the Adkins/Low Carb lifestyle .....Well as some of you may have read from my previous posts, I was a VERY slow loser while on this new lifestyle and suffered severe headaches, but I was really satisfied because I was losing at a "normal" rate at 1-2lbs a week, which is really good so I am NOT complaining (though there were days that I just wanted to throw in the towel - LOL)....I hit a road block this week when I was not feeling well and had to go to the doctor and discovered that my blood pressure was higher than normal at 152/92 and remained high for several days.....I am on blood pressure medicine and also have been experiencing irregular bleeding....Well, my doctor has now put me on a different eating plan which is called the DASH diet....It's suppose to help people like me who are obese and have hypertension....I'm starting this new plan and hope that it will help me become a healthier person.....It is far different from the plans supported on the LC support group website and so I will not post but will continue to check in from time to time.....I wish you all the best as you continue on your journeys....Many Blessings, Marilyn

Fluffy - you seem to be eating so little. Are you just not hungry or actively cutting Carbs?

Hey Laurel!!!

Yes my appetite has decreased greatly and I go for a long time without even thinking about eating most of the time. I have to be careful not to go into starvation mode by eating too little calories

Over labor day weekend I added sugar free candies to my diet and this increased cravings and hunger. So for the last 2 days I have cut them out and today my cravings are gone again,

Today's Food

Breakfast: Flamin hot peanuts, coke zero

Lunch: linda's low carb chili w/ cheese, water

Dinner: pan seared tilapia, onion sauteed in butter, water

Hi guys I'm starting induction tomorrow so I'm reading all your great posts!! Quick question I've noticed a lot of you guys aren't eating all your veggies which just for the record I loooove hahaha I absolutely hate veggies but am trying to find ways to work me in. Are you guys still successful? What's your all time fab meal? Also last question do you guys make your bacon homemade or get the precooked kind?

Welcome, us3annes!! I find my weight loss is the most sucessful regardless of the combo of meat and low carb veggies. It's a matter of tallying my daily carbs to stay under 20. My all time fab meal has got to either be one of the low carb pizza recipes (found on this forum) or good ol' steak and eggs. Lastly, I prefer to cook my own bacon, in a cast iron skillet.

Yesterday:
15 oz water, low carb Monster
2 mini ground beef patties, a bit of avocado, blue cheese dressing
1/2 cup cottage cheese, 5 strawberries
2 mini ground beef patties, cheddar, tomato slice, ranch, 2beef hot dogs each wrapped in a Romaine leaf, mustard
S: Avocado w/ pork rinds
Water all day, vit c, d, calcium, BC & allergy pill before bed. Down 2 lbs from yesterday

I had the munchies too much today. I also ate too much protein that messed up my percentages for today.

B= 3 slices bacon
L = (I ate several snacks instead of a meal)
D= don't know what I am going to eat if I do; if I do I want it to be very low sodium

S1=2 cream cheese muffins
S2= 1 oz. macadamia nuts
S3= 4 thin slices of ham, 1 slice of cheese
S4=1 oz. pork rinds

900 calories; Fat: 76 g (76%); Protein: 46 g (20%); Carbs: 9 total g (4%)
Sodium intake: 2211 mg.
