Thanks fluffy! Its just chicken soup with vegetables Mexican style. I live in San Diego so lots of yummy Mexican food. Too bad I had to nix the tortillas and rice it came with hehe. I'm weighing in tomorrow again... Eek!

Hi everyone - I'm pretty new here (well really new) but would like to jump in. Was doing really well my first few days then my mother became super sick and was admitted to ICU - I ate junk but still managed to drop a little weight. So I started back to a clean induction yesterday:

7/9/12

B: 1 TBS Coconut oil, coffee w/HWC 2 Splenda
L: Taco salad (went out for my boss's b'day) Salad only had ground beef, lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream, cheese and guac.
D: scrambled eggs with green onion, bacon, bell peppers and a little tomato (along with lots of cayenne pepper)

Today my co-workers want to go to an East Indian buffet and I'm scared because I have NO CLUE what to eat - I know a lot of the curries are high carb...UGH.

Jinger, thank you for the compliment! Sometimes I worry I get too detailed here, but that's how I roll.

ShellyBelle !!! I know it's difficult to focus during stressful times. You did very well!! Watch out for the guac-avocados have a lot of carbs relatively speaking, at 17 for an entire medium avocado. (I was shocked to learn this.)

Shelly- welcome! Maybe there is tandoori chicken? I love me some indian buffays haha!

Passion- I love how detailed u are because it's good to see the amount of food it helps me. I'm using a guacamole I got from Costco it says 2.5 carbs per two tablespoons with 2 grams fiber but I am really thinking about not doing net carbs and switching to dr Atkins old style of just overall carb counting? To see what happens.

Jinger: If I remember correctly, one of Atkins' books suggests a bit of avocado when fat fasting. I was just shocked at the carb content last month when I binged on pork rinds and guac made from an entire avocado. I'm blond and get confused easy, which is why I don't do the carbs/net carbs.

Holy crap!!! (excuse the language...) 17 carbs?!?! UGH!! The buffet I went to didn't have tandoori chicken so I did damage control and told the co-workers I'm not eating out for the next TWO weeks!!

Too hard for me in the early stages to stick to it while eating out all the time...

Shelly, I love your avatar!

Yah, 17 carbs is what came up when I googled it.

Good call about waiting to eat out. Something that helps me is I try and review a take out menu or menu online before going to the restaurant/picking up take out. This way our mind has a chance to process carb counts beforehand, instead of while everyone is staring and waiting while we make up our mind.

Hey ShellyBelle !!!!! I totally understand about co workers and eating out. My closest friend at work and I would eat out almost everyday. Now I do like Passion suggested. If I do go out, which is maybe once a week now, I have been really good at looking on line and reviewing the menu so I know exactly what I am going to order. Stick to you guns with the coworkers, YOU can do this!!!

Jinger, let me know if you decide to add nuts. This is my 3rd week of induction and I have been wanting to add pistachios but have been afraid my weight loss will slow down. Let me know if it seems to make any difference in your progress.

Still hanging at 215 today.

Breakfast: coke zero

Lunch: tuna w/ mayo, dill relish, cheese, on lettuce, water

Dinner: Homemade hot wings w/ blue cheese water

So, yesterday was a good day til the evening:

B: greek yoghurt w/flax and chia seeds
L: ham, cheese omelette with small salad
S: coffee w/cream
D: tomato salad w/mozarella, salmon and veggies, rhubarb & light ice cream
(Dinner at my bosses house- they made LC for me but they don't know about desserts...)
Plus about 6 glasses of white wine which is actually almost a whole bottle.

OMG. This morning was awful. Still:

B: coffee (!) and 4 breakfast sausages
L: vegetable stock broth, cheese
D: 2 pork chops, broccoli and chinese cabbage
S: greek yoghurt w/chia seeds and 1 tsp splenda

Lots of water!!!

My DH and I have actually decided not to drink anymore, at least for a while! We were so miserable this morning, what a waste of time!

Tomorrow another day, hopefully not a pound gained...
