The apple fritters are kind of like my martzipan. Now I plan them in every other day. I'm liking this better than having some foods "off limits" at all times, which never worked for me. There are some things I just have to have.

We're here to support you. We all understand the frustrations of getting to where you want to be. If there is something we can do to help, please let us know.

Beeb just posted this on another board "I was looking for travel sized products to keep in my car and found a site called minimus (google it) that has a lot of travel sized things!"

It's a great find for anyone who travels ot visits friends' for meals!
You don't have to buy a crate of each item. They sell by the packet.
Individual servings at your finger tips.

AND they have a Low & No Carb Food tab

If it helps any here is a daily rundown of an obese middle aged woman who quickly fell of her LC wagon:

coffee
greek yogurt with granola

beef brisquit sandwich from TooJays/coleslaw, horsey sauce
slice of carrot cake

hot dog with bun, small bag sun chips
4 cherry cake cookies.

I've been seriously off plan all week. A monster combo of hormones, sick child and exhaustion(12 looonnngggg days at work in a row) equalled not only a failure to plan but an unwillingness to plan! Times like this hit us throughout life. If I go off plan 20% of the time that's still 80% of the time on plan. Time to hitch up the wagon and climb back on!!

LavaJ, thank you very much for your disclosure, and for the 80/20 reminder. I need to keep reminding myself it's not about all or nothing.

My reward for the 2 donuts and 1 apple fritter the other day was a massive sugar headache by the time I left the office. So not worth it.

I'm New to this!

Ive been doing induction since Monday...ive lost 7.5lbs since then

Yesterday:

1 cup spinach measured then cooked
2 eggs
2 slices of ham

Chicken caesar salad
Chicken
bacon
parmesan just a pinch
mixed salad, rocket, cuc, 2 baby toms
No dressing (shock) only cause I had none :P

Chicken rotiserie - Half spit roast (couldn't eat all)
salad - lettuce, 1/4 piece of tomato, peice cucumber, slice of onion, a bit of mayo

decaf coffee with double cream watered down, 1 splenda

back on the wagon train!

Welcome Jo. Congrats on a great start!

well gals and guys I am hitching the mule team back up to the wagon and heading back out of the barn. ..The "barn" being the hi carb frenzy I was in last week.
I woke up this morning all swollen like a puffer fish ( I retain water like crazy when i eat flours and sugars) 10#'s up in a week!! Granted 6# of it is water and I'll pee that out over the next couple of days but I'm sure a good 4# is the pasta and carrot cake consumed over the last seven days

Passion- this is my honesty place (facebook is for the delusions of grandeaur lol!) I know it helps me to see the real struggle behind losing this weight. When I see someone not giving up after a setback it helps to remind me that everyone has those days and weeks but it doesnt have to be forever. I'm just so glad I have this forum and ya'll for support.

I don't normally weigh daily but I think I will this week just to see how fast the water drains! starting back at 244.4 this morning.

Today is prep and planning for the week since i get this weekend off work. I caught a cold so I definitely think some kind of soup is in order. I'll post my final meals at the end of the day. see ya'll later!

ayee! I forgot the roughness of restarting induction!

B: 2 eggs, 3 slice bacon, greens +
L: chicken salad wrapped in 2 big slices swiss cheese, couple green olives
D: ham (cooked a shoulder ham),
bowl of (homemade)pepper chicken soup (garlic onion zuchinni canned green peppers, chicken, chick boullion.) served with cheddar jack cheese and a "dollop" of sour cream

Water-128 oz water throughout the day

somehow I also managed to cook (from semi scratch) cinnimon rolls for the DH and DS. and NOT have any.

Have a killer cold....nyquil liquid has too many carbs. Will make do with some hot tea until I can get some dayquil caps in the morning.

Way to go Lava! Hang in there. Oro, love that song from my childhood. Except I kept thinking they were herding dogs. (Get along little doagie- I thought they just mispronounced it.)

Alternating bouts of energy where I was cleaning and moving applicances out of the kitchen. I never got hungry, but finally ate supper coz it seemed like I ought to. Then more tummy trouble.

B 11 am bacon and eggs
D 7 pm hunan chicken and veggies w/ a quarter cup of fried rice

That's all I've had today. I drank water, coffee w/Co at breakfast, a whole 16 oz SF powerade abt an hour ago. I guess I'll have HWC and frozen berries later.

I tried to make the chocolate peanut butter pudding, but didn't add enough CO, so it didn't set. Threw some frozen berries in it. Something my kids call "one of mom's concotions." LOL

You're a better woman than I. I'd have sent them to Cinnabon. lol
If you have EmerGen-C, it only has 6 carbs. It works great for getting rid of my colds...

Feel better

Likewise, we lived on a military base, far, far from the maddening cows What did I know about calves.

My biggest energy expenditure today was moving from my chair to the deck. It was a lovely, sunny, lazy day today. I don't get many of those.

Concoctions are good! You're raising them to be experimental with food. They won't be so picky when they grow up. Kudos for keeping it interesting!

Jo- at least it was a natural whoops. Not flour or sugar. i bet you don't see any issues. the rest of your day was so on plan!

Sooz- I always thought they were talking about the "doggies" that were helping them coral the cows!

Oro-- I think I do have some somewhere around here. Thanks for reminding me about it.!

Down almost 4 pounds since yesterday (pee'd ALL day long!) My fingers are still a little puffy so I should have a little more water come off today. I can retain like a sponge!! I decided to set some goals for my weight loss. They are a little high but I think acheivable if I stick to it. Going to start exercising this week. just walking but hopefully that will speed up the ole metabolism. My first "dream' goal is to be under 200 by my birthday(8/17) ... it might help to strive toward something. My bff is having her surgery (gasric sleeve) in June so I gotta get down a bit now to get a head start cuz she will drop fast and i refuse to be the lone fat friend!

I took two exedrin pm's with my tea last night and woke up somewhere around 10:30 this morning!! I normally am up by 7 at the latest! But it did give me lots of rest.Woke up feeling a little better. Plan for today is to pick up the house just a little, then lie up in bed and read and snooze. Gotta get to the grocery store at some point for a litlle this and that.

Started off the day with trying a little of the coconut oil in my coffee. The jury still isn't in on that. I'll try it a few days then see. I didn't have any vco but what I had was raw organic coconut butter. The coconut flesh sits on the bottom and the oil floats on top so I just grabbed a tablespoon of that. I am going to try making the Reeses cup candies with the coconut instead of natural pnut butter. hopefully it will come out like mounds bar! I'll let you know. That's it for now- I'll check back in with ya'll at the end of the day!

ooow. This looks interesting. I had to look up Rogan Josh Curry.
If you make your own please post recipes.

For others who might be interested:
Penzey's has a spice mix for it:

Just a little spicy. A very popular dish from Northern India and Pakistan. This version of the red lamb stew comes from the state of Rajasthan, known for its hilly deserts and fierce, yet chivalrous warriors. Rogan Josh can be made with beef, but this blend is a great example of how a crafty seasoning can change the somewhat objectionable, "gamey" flavor of lamb into something far more delicious. Some blends are interesting-this blend is good. For the true Jaipur Palace experience, use the full 2 TB. per pound, plus extra cayenne and cardamom. Either way you make it, don't plan on having any leftovers. Brown 2 lb. lamb or beef cubes in 4 TB. heated ghee or oil. Remove, brown 1 large, minced onion, add 2-4 TB. Rogan Josh, 1 tsp. salt, stir 1 minute. Add meat, slowly blend in 1 Cup water and ˝ Cup yogurt. Cook 1-2 hrs. over low heat, then raise heat to reduce sauce until thick. Hand-mixed from: paprika, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, black pepper, cayenne pepper, Korintje cassia cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and saffron.

Also Nando...several spicy suauces to cook with. google nandoperi

oro, thanks for understanding my concoctions. My 31 year old son makes concoctions all the time. My daughter 26, almost 27, cooks from recipes and mixes. I know how, but I figure they're a guidline, usually.

I carried a veggie tray to the family party, a big success. But I did eat a tablespoon of potato salad and a slice of my aunt's pound cake, albeit a thin piece. She also made a salad and sweetened the strawberries w/ truvia.

So,
B bacon and duck eggs
L pork bbq, salad w/ ranch, pound cake w/strawberries & cool whip
S bacon
D tuna salad, LC tortilla, pork skins and LC french onion dip
S HWC chocolate peanut pudding
