Good morning ladies! Back at it today...as Amber reminded me...NO EXCUSES!
My busy week has come to a close, now its back to just potty training, diet, and exercise. I go back to work on Thursday though...boo! Goal is to shock myself back into LC with lots of just VLC foods today, probably meat and cheese, since I really cannot stand to look at eggs anymore. I might throw in a few VLC veggies, but not too much. I want to see how long I can do it, so I will try to keep it up for a few days. We got a new grill so it shouldnt be that hard with yummy food bbqed Okay, well off to weigh, and promised the boy a trip to the zoo. Will post when I get home! B- bacon and a cheese stick L- cheeseburger from a drive thru probably D- grilled chicken on the grill, broccoli S- cheese sticks, SF jello

Jean - I only have hugs and sympathy for you.
you are doing great and getting close to your monthly weigh in. Stay tough and you'll be rewarded really soon on the scale. Chels - how was the zoo? How was the 5k the other day? I'm going to start a round of strict lc with you starting tomorrow after lunch. Want to post menus together? I need to face the scale still.... ![]() Today was interesting at work. The place and job responsibilities are very different from the last job. I wonder if the transition is harder for me since I didn't want to leave? I don't know but I am struggling to adjust some. Each day does get easier and better but I'm not there yet emotionally. Maybe if I get back in control of my food and the scale I'll start to feel better? Oh, this apt has a workout room in my building so I need to start visiting it a few times per week. I feel myself gaining and need to stop it ASAP. See you all tomorrow. |

I keep forgetting to update about the 5k It was good, mostly walking as I was with my sister and she doesnt really run. She is super fit and goes to the gym like everyday, but she also had knee replacement surgery 2 years ago (she was hit by a car as a teen), so she wants to keep this knee around forever Those are her words. We didnt go to the zoo today because it was supposed to rain all day, but didnt drop a single drop!! We went to target today, did horrible on LC today, and will start tomorrow I guess. I am down for posting menus and keep accountable. Plan to take DS tomorrow to the zoo, its supposed to be much cooler temp wise. Sorry about the job Amber! Its hard when the dynamic isnt there yet. I really hate my job at times, but I love my coworkers...tell them its the reason I keep coming back Maybe once you get to know everyone, it will be better? The jobs I loved the most are the ones where I worked with people I loved the most! When I lost all the weight previously when I was 23 or so was because I had access to my apartment's gym 24/7. I also didnt have a husband (well he was my boyfriend...so much less needy lol) or my sweet boy. I worked out a lot and ate LC...the lbs melted away. Maybe try to get there after DS goes to bed a few days a week? I am one to talk, but we can motivate each other to work out...I am joining a gym June 1st!! I know after a long day at work, the last thing you want to do is treadmill it up! ![]() So, tomorrow, back at it? I will post my menu then...and stick to it! |

Awesome job on the 5k!! Walking 3.1 miles is excellent. I bet the training helped too! You are right about loving the coworkers. My last ones are like family. These ones I'm still learning their names. Haha. I've been mantra'ing that it only gets better each day.
So the show 'extreme weight loss' or whatever starts june 2. It's also a fresh month. I will be on track this afternoon but wanted to throw out more things to motivate us. |

Okay, I have more or less been off plan for a month! I've been avoiding the scale out of fear/denial, and I have felt my pants slowly get tighter. This morning I made myself get on the scale. It said 241. Clearly this isn't great, but at the same time, it was such a relief. I now know where I'm at and can start to fix it. I know in two weeks I can be back where I was. I feel lighter already just knowing the number and knowing that things will now start getting better again.
Today is official restart. B: Atkins shake L: burgers w/o bun and diet coke D: will be out tonight so either a bar, grilled nuggets, or something fast |

Amber~ 8 lbs in a month is not terrible!!! You can do it!!!
Tina~ Great plan, you can definitely be at your next goal by your fitting!!! Thanks. I thought I did good as well. My aunt is also on Atkins and she didn't do as well as I did. I think all the water I drank helped to counter act the beers I did have. My aunt couldn't find a low carb beer at the game so she very easily caved and started drinking non low carb beer. Oh well. Her choices are not what I would make.Couldn't make it to ZUMBA because I didn't have a sitter, but I did do a kickboxing video for 30 minutes. TOM arrived so the scale is currently stuck. HAVE A GREAT WEDNESDAY!!!

Hello friends!!!
So far this day is going pretty good. Pushed Alayna in the stroller on a 1.5 mile walk with two slight inclines. WOO HOO!!! Planning on doing some arm work this evening. Stopped at the store on the way home from our walk and got two heads of lettuce, celery, strawberries and 4 cucumbers... Yes I said 4I have been craving them like crazy. I took 1 and 1/2 of them right away and peeled them and put them in a container with 1/2 cup splenda, 1/2 c vinegar and 1/2 cup water. I'm sure they will be gone after dinner between Jason and I. We both love them like this. B: Atkins shake L: 4 pieces of salami 1/2 green pepper 1/2 cucumber with tbsp of ranch dip. I'm trying to figure out something good to take to a couple picnics that we have to go to this weekend. Something Yummy for us, but that everyone else will eat too. Any ideas? |

Mel - is it potluck? Maybe a cold broccoli salad w/ almonds, red onions, bacon bits, and cheese. Sandwich fillings, either deli or chicken salad, with big lettuce leaves. Deviled eggs, veggies and ranch, anti pasta salad w/o pasta. Those cucumbers sound good. I love a slice in my water. Good job on the exercise.
Tina - you can do it!! I'm jealous of your shake - I can't find that flavor anymore around here. I love them and may order them. Oh, aren't you still 12+ weeks away from the wedding? I'd ask your alterations person to push it back until three weeks prior. Heck, I did mine 10 days before. Chels - where are you? Ok, today was good. I had a bar instead of a shake for breakfast and grilled nuggets w/ mayo for dinner. I feel better already. I need to tattoo this on my face so I stop cheating. Off to read and sleep. |

Yep its pot luck. I was pretty much set on taking veggies and dip or a salad, but was thinking about something warm in the crockpot??? I may have to go to the recipe thread. We now have 3, possibly 4 picnics this weekend.
1 on Sunday, 2 on Monday, and 1 possibly on Saturday. YIKES!!! |

Monday and Tuesday were both bad, bad, bad. Kettle corn, beer, pizza...ugh. But today I was back on track. And tomorrow I plan to be as well. I was in 16w's on Sunday....I need to keep that going. May is just the worst month for me. Groups come in with food. I "nervous eat" and stay in my office from 7am to 8 or 9pm....then I go the bar and drink and make bad food choices. I have been much better this year than past years but I still slip up.
Mel, have fun at the picnics.....they are just one of many reasons I love summer so much! Tina, thanks for the encouragement. I know your going to look great for the big day! Chelsey, I promised I would start working out June 1 too, when my crunch time is over and I am back in Chicago. I know we can do it. Amber, glad your getting acclimated to the new job. It takes time but it may turn out to be a great new challenge for you. How is the house hunting coming? Good night all...take care. |

Jean - I'm sorry this is a tough month. You are almost to June!! Hang in there. I understand the nervous eating. That's what I was doing the last month. We should start a June exercise challenge in here since we all want to start. House hunting is going ok. We have not found it yet.
Mel - you can plug in at the picnic? Or is it battery operated? Maybe a warm dip or shredded meat or chili? One of my favorite things to make are jalapeńo poppers but they need to be warm. Okay, scale said 239 this morning. 6 pounds to get back to my low. I feel better just being back in the right decade. Phew. Today's menu B - shake L - salad w/ avocado, chicken, bacon, etc S - bar D - southwestern soup (from freezer) |

Good morning everyone!
Tina- I might push back alterations too. I, like Amber, got my dress altered shortly before the wedding, maybe 1month? That way you are definitely in line for your next goal! Amber- I am here, havent done so well getting back on track, so I am stuck here at work, I figured why not start today? I spent pretty much all day outside with my DS in his baby pool yesterday which was fun, but man, what is it about summer that makes you just graze all.day.long?! I didnt overeat, just nothing good Melanie- Good luck at the picnics...you can do it! Veggies and dip sound yummy, maybe bring a cucumber salad? I am going home today and making some like you described...sounds yummy! Jeanne- Good job getting back on track! Its hard, believe me, I know it! Its a deal, June 1st we both workout, okay? So, like I said, back on track today. No running for me this week I dont think, its going to be upwards of like 95 degrees outside! I have too much going on this weekend, ut plan to get back at it on Monday. We'll see if its any cooler by then...probably not! B- bacon L- grilled chicken, broccoli D- not sure yet |

Amber~ Yep they usually have somewhere I can plug in the crockpot. I'm thinking about a warm dip with celery.
Chelsey~ I hope you enjoy the cucumbers. I had someone in my journal eating them too. Jeanne~ Stay away from the bar food and drinks. I'm in for an exercise challenge!!! 30 minutes 3x a week sounds like a plan. |

Yep, I like 30 min 3 times per week. Sounds very reasonable. Only one week left until that starts.
Chels - how'd day one go? Weigh tomorrow and recommit with me. We can hold each other extra accountable. Today was good for me. I ate what I posted plus lots of diet soda and water. After dinner I swam. I feel great. |

Funny, I remember that about Davids bridal now that you mention it. I thought it was way too soon to be doing alterations as well. You can always get them done and then take your dress, and then when you lose more and it won't fit take your dress to someone local for alterations.
Chelsey and Amber~ You can do it!!! If you need anything, I am here!! |

Tina - take your dress elsewhere for alterations. How in the world can it take four weeks to alter something. My dress had a lot changed plus a very complicated bustle added and it was done in 48 hours. Just throwing this out there. Do you have the gown? I'd go see how it fits now. It looked perfect a few months ago.
Thanks Mel. Is it bad that every time I write your name I want to say 'skinny mel'?? Saw 238!!! Just 5 above my low. Normally I gain so much more when I cheat so this has been a big blessing to only need to relose 8. Today's plan is a shake, bun less burgers, and sausage and/eggs. I feel slightly headachy today and know that tomorrow I'll be back in ketosis and feeling great. Yay!! Hope everyone has a great Friday! |

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! I wish everyone a safe and happy low carbing weekend. We have lots of boat time scheduled and one day of groom shopping (and shoe shopping for me... he he he).
Amber - I will check my local bridal shop out too. I tried my dress on a few weeks ago and it is now a little big on me. Yeah for that. I would have my mom, but she is getting up there in years. And I don't want her to have that pressure during this time either. On the other hand my invitiation arrive yesterday, I am going to my moms to check them out! Then we have the task of assembeling them and addressing them. Arghhh I hate this part.Today's menu: B - atkins carmel shake S - cheese D -pork tenderloin on the grill & grilled zuccinni |

Hi everyone,
I've been around here for several years now, off and on. I never really got to know anybody really well, but around the time when I first joined I had great success on my own. I've since gained back half of what I lost over the years. I read the OP and know all about what it's like to start over so I thought I would stop in and say hello. I know that everyone south of me (I'm in Canada) is going to have a long weekend this weekend so please enjoy it and have fun!

Abbey, if there is anything about this site and lowcarbing, its helping you out when you need it. 205.4 this morning. A new number and down .8 overnight!!! I will take it!!! I love my ZUMBA class it seems that I always have a loss after my Thursday class. It helps so much that the building is air conditioned, I still sweat but not as bad as if there was no air. Heading out to get fitted for a new bra. I haven't been measured since I lost weight and I'm pretty sure I'm not the same size as I was as all of my bras except one is too big. I need t-back bra for my tank top I'm wearing this week. Have a great Friday!!! |

Melanie - Woot woot for you ! WTG
![]() . What fun you will have for a fitting! I really need to start back on ZUMBA. I have found a class with our old instructor. I think I am going to try to go once a week. Maybe even twice, it's kind of far form my work and kind of late. But I am not going to let this stop me.Abbey ! My plans for the weekend are: Fishing in our boat, more fishing and boating, and more sun and fun. We have to go pick up my wedding band (as it's back from the sizing). Go shopping for groom & best mans pants, and find my wedding shoes. Fun Fun Fun!!!!! I forgot to post I am down to 251.4 this morning. Almost to the 240's ! |

Tina - that's awesome that it's already slightly big. More proof that you are doing so well!! Your weekend soundS fun. Are the menu wearing tuxes? Congrats on 251!!! You are so close to the magical 40s.
Mel - wow, it's def time for a new bra! Did you find one you like? I plan to get another new one in 10-15 pounds. I got two smaller bras at 249, but my cup isn't changing much, just the band. I'm not well endowed though. congrats at a new low!! 5 pounds away from 199!!!!Abbey - welcome! I love your username. So cute. Were you a big abercrombie fan? I was in college and have kept a few nicer pants as some goal pants. Please post as often as you want about anything at all. Most of us started or currently weigh what you do. We will all reach our goals, one day at a time. So, I saw 236!! 3 above my low. I feel much less bloated today and slightly clearer headed. Today dh and I are looking at some houses and ds is staying with a sitter. Then tonight I'm going to dinner with a gf while dh babysits. I'll prob eat a chicken ceasar and have one glass of white wine. I need to stop at walmart and see if those caramel shakes are back in stock since that's all I want for breakfast. |

My walmart is still out of those caramel shakes!! Wt!? My publix and pharms don't carry that flavor. Grrrr. I'm going to look them up online.
For lunch I ate at carabas and had the chicken bryan with spinach and ceasar. Dinner with my gf was steak, asparagus, and white wine. I subbed out the potatoes and onion rings. It was a delicious day. I was sad I couldn't eat the fresh breads but eating steak and veggies in butter is a much more satisfying woe. I lc. |

Sounds like a wonderful day of eating Amber.
So on to a new topic.... Isn't it easy to say no to favorite foods when you are losing and feeling better!!!! Absolutely!!! No luck on the bra search. I did find one that I really loved at Victorias Secret but it was $42 and I refuse to pay that.... I will keep looking. 205 even today!!! Thinking I will see a loss tomorrow as my rings are spinning on my fingers tonight. We shall see. Amber~ Bummer on the shakes. We only have one left and I am already kicking myself for forgetting to pick them up while I was at walmart today. ![]() |
