The only reason it's not a chore for me is because I mix it up by using different flavored Mio. It's almost become second nature to me now over the last 3 weeks to drink lots of water. I try for 100 oz every day, and most days I get at least 80 in. If you stick with it, I bet it will become easier.

You should weigh in anyway, low! It's always easier for me to get my head back in the game when I "fess up" to my mistakes and can see my hard work undone. Trust me, you're not the first to post a gain. I posted a 4 pound gain last week.

Congrats everyone! We are halfway through the challenge, already! Only 3 more weeks. Game faces on for the remainder of the time!

Today is an up day for me.

Still liking the chicken, so I'm going to stick with it for another day at least.

Very small loss for me this week. I really gotta step up my game these last 3 weeks so I can show a significant loss for this challenge.

I plan to do 3 miles again today too. I think I only got about 70 ounces of water in yesterday. Aiming for the full 100 today.

Doesn't look like much, but with the gain to 161ish for no apparant reason, this is good Happy today!

Day 2 of LR. Got my 50 in this morning and stuck with it last night even at the party. Should be easier since I'm at home and can eat when and what I want. This breakfast thing is still so against my norm, but if it works...

Yeah Kitty...it's not easy to eat first thing...but I do find I am hungry now so it's a little easier...and it's still a lot of meat, but I bought protein shakes so that helps
I keep playing with carbs so I need to stop that because I want to lose 2 more pounds
(so I match my sigy )

Yeah, watching the carbs still. Want to get back to the low 50s and ult. the 40s again. So got a few to take off before spring.

Got some protein shakes here I had for just in case moments. Had one this morning. 24 grams. Made it a bit easier. Still had 3 eggs, cheese and bacon...stuffed! LOL Got to figure a quick breakfast for the work week. The shakes will be good. Will check out protein numbers on foods I can do. The eggs were hard to put down! Too many for me. Got to get some steaks maybe I think I can eat those 24/7! LOL Got to see how much protein per ounce and buy accordingly! LOL No food scale here.

Hoping to be hungrier tomorrow morning. Thought I would be since my last meal was 6ish.

Do you guys remember that years ago there was a girl on these boards...maybe even on our thread...that used to eat dinner for breakfast then breakfast for dinner? I remember she lost a ton of weight. I wonder if she was resetting her Leptin resistance too and that's why it worked so well for her.

Interesting.

I finally updated my miles in my signature. I only walked 2 this morning. Couldn't possibly do any more than that. I might do another mile at some point today. Right now I'm thinking heck no, but we'll see if I feel differently at some point during the day. lol

FF: I've thought about people that have stuck to 3 meals and no snacks too. Seems that works. The switching break for dinner is pretty much it too. I bet she did it bc of the LR. Wonder how many do that and not even realize they are resetting! LOL It used to be that breakfast was the biggest meal....now people rush out the door and eat the biggest at dinner...no wonder we are all messed up! One of the many reasons the country is becoming more and more overweight I bet. The wheat thing too. Watched a video about how it isn't the same wheat that "we" ate many years ago. Search: Wheat belly. People always bring up how their grandparents ate it (and other carbs) and had no problems. They don't get how much these foods have been changed/modified since the 70s....cooincidence that this is when we as a nation started gaining weight???? Add to that mothers working outside of the home (not putting that down as I am one!) and not having time to cook those big a** breakfasts. It became convenience and necessary to make a quick break. Enter cereal, donuts, poptarts, toaster strudels.......Lower and lower protein levels! Higher carbs...and crappy carbs at that! OK, getting off my soapbox! Got work to do..not doing it itself! LOL

Hey gang I ate breakfast and didn't weigh. Tomorrow for sure.

last night I found that I was barely even hungry by the time dinner rolled around. maybe it was because I was cooking bacon for awhile and it made me tired of food. I don't know.

Finding weighing in is harder with this eating within 30! I usually wait till I do no. 2 (normally in that 30 in the morning) now, I am eating before that and that adds weight! Ughhhh!!!! Will have to weigh no matter what and just get used to the extra weight! LOL

Cooking bacon here too later on for quick breakfasts! Any other ideas for high protein, easy morning prep? Getting some steaks cooked too

4oz sirloin steak 35g

4oz Ham slice/cubes 16g
4 eggs scrambled 36g
1 oz cheddar cheese 7g

8oz cottage cheese 24g
8oz greek yogurt 20g
Blend together add 1 scoop flavored protein powder

1/4 quiche 34g
8 slices Canadian bacon 20g

4 pieces regular-sliced bacon 12g
3 eggs 18g
Protein shake 1 scoop 24g

2 hard boiled eggs 12
1cup kefir 8-14g (depends on brand & fat content)
5 oz ground beef patty 29g

6oz chicken breast 42g
1/2 c greek yogurt 10g
(pour yogurt over chicken, add some salsa, heat through)


Protein Shakes

2 scoops of most varieties = 48-50g
Mix egg white protein with flavored
Add coconut milk and/or ice to blender to make a frozen shake


1 scoop 24g
8oz yogurt 20g or 8oz cottage cheese
Add enough water or coconut milk to thin if desired

2 scoops protein 48g
1 raw farm-raised egg 6g (I wouldn’t use regular store eggs raw.)

Fruit adds flavor but little or no protein.
I find I do better starting with 40-50g of meat vs shakes. I put this list together for my son who's in college and wanted an easy list.

50+g Protein Breakfasts

(Season as you like, add low sugar fruits and vegetables.)

4oz sirloin steak 35g
2 eggs 12g
2 oz cottage cheese 6g

8oz ground beef 46g
2oz cheddar cheese 14g

4oz pork chop 23g
4oz Cottage cheese 12g

You probably had way more protein than 50gr because I did that too...the above is what I found on a forum that I was linked to and it has helped emormously to put the protein thing in perspective
But having too much is better than not enough because you are staying fuller...
Kind of along those lines of upside-down eating, I do eat less and less during the day after eating the big breakfast...I'd say that's prabably a good thing. My lunches and dinners are where I put my vegies (and fruit if I eat any) and I keep my protein at a normal serving size

AND now...I have to step off the scale and run to the kitchen to get to eating

protein shake: 24 g (from label: 24 g f/ 2 scoops)
3 eggs: 18g. (6 each from label)
slice of cheese 4g (from label)
3 strips bacon: 9g (3 each from label)

I know; DH was like WTH? You went from snoring one second to eating the next! LOL Not my usual sluggish morning! Haha!

do you kind of feel energized too? I feel good all day, and then tired at night...but even last night I was up later than usual and I feel totally rested

but yeah, jumping out of bed and cooking isn't my norm either

During the weekdays I usually get up at 6 with DD and don't eat breakfast til 730. Looks like I will be eating before 630.

I think I may go for the greek yogurt too; that stuff is really good. I can ususally find full fat fage at my whole foods store.
