Yum! Making them tonight!
Does anyone know if those Diet Revolution Rolls are Induction Friendly? I saw they have cottage cheese... not on Induction. But then I saw you could also make them with mayo. |

I'm definitely having bacon and pancakes for breakfast this week! haven't really been craving anything sweet or carby at all since I started this lifestyle June 1st, but that just looks good.

I agree Monk, I find the flax cereal and muffins are better in the morning than eating eggs. I feel more full because of the fat content I guess, and I don't get bored, because eggs...well, are not my favorite food lol

I found an answer by googling on another forum Atkins Diet 14-day Induction why is flax seed being induction friendly such a controversial topic?
I hope that helps! Personally for me, i am following an induction style lifestyle at the moment, staying under 20 carbs a day, and I eat 1/4 cup of flaxmeal in muffins, or pancakes or hot cereal, and now that I'm being strict about the carbs, the weight is coming off much faster, so for me, I consider them induction friendly, but your mileage may vary! I totally believe the flaz pancakes are induction friendly. Dr. Atkins recommends flax on induction for staying regular. The other ingredients are eggs, splenda, baking powder, HWC, water, cinnamon and 1tsp SF davincis which can be ommitted. All induction friendly

Avy, what is this flax cereal you speak of, you have peaked my interest!
![]() I almost didn't post because of the controversy.. but heck, if it can help one person stay on track because they know there are more options out there.. then it is worth it! I know I personally find bacon and eggs difficult in the AM, as much as I love them! Happy LCing everyone!! Last edited by Monk; 07-11-2012 at 11:15 PM.. |

I agree, normally, I can barely tolerate eggs, although I've eaten a ton of them in the last (almost) 6 weeks. It's nice to have some recipes that are almost as quick as my 45 second egg nuked in the microwave on work mornings, and the flax is more filling!
I found the recipe a while ago on about.com. Just did a search for it again. Flaxmeal hot cereal If you are not used to a lot of fiber, you may not want to start with a whole recipe of this. It is 10 grams of fiber, and one third of that is soluble, which is good for you, but it's a lot at once. That said, it's yummy, low-carb, quick to make, and will help see you through the morning! Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Ingredients: 1/4 C flax seed meal 1/2 C boiling water 2 T peanut butter 1/4 t cinnamon Preparation: Note that a half recipe would be 2 T flax meal, 1/4 C water, and 1 T peanut butter. 1) Pour boiling water over flax seed meal and stir well. 2) Stir in peanut butter and cinnamon. 3) Let thicken for 1 to 2 minutes. Eat. Nutritional Analysis: Each recipe has 5 grams of effective carbohydrate plus 10 grams of fiber, 14 grams protein, 29 grams fat, and 351 calories. Last edited by Avy; 07-12-2012 at 06:29 AM.. |

Avy....Thanks so much for the recipe! I'm just curious how are you counting the 5 effective carbs? Is that from the peanut butter alone?
And also when you said "Each recipe has 5 grams of effective carbohydrate" were you quoting for both the full and half recipe? Sorry for all the questions I'm a little new and still trying to figure things out! Thanks so much for your help =) |

So, I just did the math using ****** and About.com's calorie counter to make sure the numbers were reasonably accurate, and the full recipe for the flax pancakes is:
527.80 calories 28.31 protein 34.02 fat 21.40 carbs 12.70 fiber 8.70 net carbs I based this on 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, a full tbsp of heavy cream, and 1 tsp of splenda, since the recipe was "this or that". that's a lot of carbs and calories for just breakfast, imo, but then, I can't see me eating the entire recipe in one sitting, since it's 3 eggs and 6 tbsps of flax, very filling. Also, just a note, I'm getting conflicting results for the baking powder, some sites say 4 carbs per 1 tsp, some say 2.3, and my can says .70. Last edited by Avy; 07-12-2012 at 05:28 PM..
