On the jicama hashbrowns and the turnip fries, do you parboil either of those first, or cook from raw?

They still have a little bit of a turnip taste, but if you dipped them in lc ketchup or something else, they tasted just like a french fry to me.

ETA: Your meals look yummy. I tried jicama raw and plain at a salad bar and really didn't care for it. I'm going to get another one and try again though!
I under stand on the jicama comment. It has a rather sweet taste that I don't care for but I got so used to using it in coleslaw that i thought i'd try hash for a change. I've found that if i use pepper and some great tasting Mr's Dash seasoning.... it really helps mask that sweetness. Good luck on your try!

I cooked the turnips raw. Just peeled, sliced and thrown into the oil!

I read somewhere that someone puts a chili/lime salt on it. I thought that sounded yummy.

thx for the compliments, all are welcome at Chez goolash! Lol!

here is tonight's creation, it's Wild Salmon which i covered in a mixture of Spicy Asiago/ARtichoke dip, more mayo, onion flakes, and lots of dill!

served with brocolli with lots of butter and salt/pepper, simple but not gunna lie - it's epic good.

Oh my goodness, I love Larry David!

I haven't been here for a while (fell of track for a while ) but I still marvel at Rbenz's mashed cauli. I can never get mine like that. I used to actually pull up a picture and put it in the kitchen while I cooked them. No luck. A wonderful poster gave me some tips but I just can't get it. So I just look at Rbenz's pics and drool... LOL

I know people tell you guys all the time but your food looks amazing!

Wanted to say hi Misty!! I see that we are sort of neighbors. I am in the Bonham area.
The turnip fries sound fabulous. I am just starting back on LC after falling off of the wagon for a few months and now back at my old weight and having blood sugar issues. So ready to get started again and back with all of my wonderful LC friends!

Hi Lynn!

I'm having incredible results with lc. Just 3 weeks ago my fasting bs were in the 400s and my dailys in the 300s. Now, my fastings are in the 200s and I just had my lowest daily at 102 before dinner!

Feel free to message me if you want a buddy

The actual boats are pieces of romaine lettuce. I make taco meat using ground turkey, added some shredded cheese and diced onions. I made a quick homemade salsa by draining a can of rotel and adding onion powder, garlic powder and salt to taste!

Mustard porkchops (took thin chops dipped in spicy brown mustard, then coated them in a 50/50 mix of porkrinds and parm cheese (in the green can) and pan fried them) sauteed shredded brussels sprouts, sliced red pepper and a small handful or macadamia nuts.

I LOVE me some Ro-tel - won't go back to other salsas again, if I can help it - such great flavor!
