depends on what you mean by "best" and what you will be using it for.

I like whey protein isolate, because it's the lowest carb and tastes good.

I use it in flax muffins, and I get the graham cracker flavor from VPX.

these things take a leap of faith because the containers are so big and expensive, but I've not had a bad one.

if you need it to dissolve well under certain circumstances, state that is what you mean by "best" and you will get good advice I'm sure. the only time I use mine in shakes I use the blender with ice, so dissolving is not an issue.

Are you asking about the best as far as taste is concerned, carb count or... ?

I've been using Pro Performance Amplified Wheybolic, but now that I'm doing low carb the carb count is a little high. I just bought some Prolabs Whey Protein Isolate, but am still waiting for my order to arrive. The carb count is lower, but who knows... It might taste crummy. I really like the taste of the GNC Wheybolic chocolate.

Syntrax Nectar is good! I have the cookies and cream in my pantry. On lifting days I use gold standard, it has 3 carbs per scoop, but, those carbs get put in the muscles where they need to go

Try Jay Robb. Its the lowest in carbs that I have found. 1 carb per scoop for the Whey Protein Isolate.

I wish I liked whey protein isolate more... it has that canned milk/powdered milk taste to me, but I think it's better for you than soy protein.

I like hemp protein, but it's kinda gritty and very, very green.

I don't do the 'protein powder' but I use "EAS: Carb Control"--milk chocolate flavor.....zero carbs. I use it in the morning in my coffee, in place of creamer....totally yummy!
I get it at the grocery store---so I imagine it's everywhere.

Right on, best is very subjective. I am very pleased with Biochem natural whey protein powder. It is unsweetened and has no flavorings added and the price point is good. To me it just tastes like skim milk.

I like Biochem best, both in vanilla and chocolate. And I like that it's natural.

Originally when I started using Biochem natural flavor, my only real qualm was that I wasn't sure if it was from antibiotic and growth hormone free milk. Then at some point in the last year or so they added a little yellow blurb on the cans that says it is so that makes me even more happy with it. It runs about $10-11 per 12.3 oz can depending where you get it. They make a can double the size too, but it is double the price so I always buy the smaller cans figuring it keeps the product fresher. I also refrigerate it. I asked Netrition to carry it and they said they'd look into it but I haven't seen it in the product line up, yet anyway.
