muscle milk?

Is it OK to have muscle milk? 1 scoop has:

130 cal
2g fat
3g total carbs
1g fiber
1g sugars
26g protein

it doesn't really seem worse than the atkins shakes but has about 10g more protein

Any thoughts?

Protein powders are generally alright if you need/want the additional protein in the diet. I'm not sure about muscle milk, but some of them have a lot of artificial sweeteners and such in them which causes some people issues. The Atkins' brand products some people have trouble losing if they are eating too much of them. That stuff pretty much came out after the late great Dr. Atkins' was gone.

Thanks for the advice....I've been on Atkins before a while back and I had some of the bars/shakes and I do seem to remember they seemed to pull me out of ketosis a little bit... And yes, muscle milk does contain fructose in the ingredients list - not something I really want to be putting in my body anymore. Thanks, again.

Yes personally I avoid powders with fructose or any sweetener. There are some natural, unflavored, unsweetened whey protein powders out there. I use Biochem natural whey powder; there are some others available as well.
