Seasoned Pro Input
Hi Guys !
I may go on and on but am excited to get back on induction the 1st of the month. I did the induction for 3 months and lost 70 lbs !It wasn't even tough cause I like meat and veggies and eggs. AND mayo! Stayed slim for 7 years ( size 20 to size 6/8) with gradual and occasional add ons. I'm back, gained it back because of the depression from the economy,( all gained in the last 9 months) never thought I would but, here goes.... #1 to be successful, like meat and seafood. Like veggies, salads etc ( they make the plate look full) You gotta like what you eat even if you're missing something.#2 Don't decide you need "recipes" , too many with hidden carbs online. NO red, tomatoes, etc, don't do it. They are sneaky and have sugar, fresh or otherwise)#3 Use seasonings from the seasoning aisle for flavor besides fresh ( 0 carbs) # 4 DON'T weigh yourself for a month or so, it's inches you will lose, so don't let yourself get discouraged. #5 remember use onion powder NOT fresh onions. # 6 you CAN have coffee! BUT remember cream ONLY heavy cream ( in dairy/ milk section) Splenda OK too. # 7 Alcohol OK too if NO carbs, just no mixes except for sugar free. # 8 Just get familiar with carb counts on veggies.salad dressing= blue cheese or italian. Nuff for now but stalls are normal, it'll catch up. I could go on and on but don't wanna lose you. Please feel free to ask any questions or reply, even disagree, it'll keep me excited! LUV this site.. |

Add on:
Sorry, I should have mentioned when I said don't do recipes that I was lucky I liked the things I could eat, and yes I missed some for a year or so..Get steaks on sale ( low carb can be expensive), a good steak and eggs you forget about toast and "whatever" lol.. omelets for dinner, taco salads ( don't buy store taco packs, easy to make your own) it really is a whole bunch easier than you think! And later on, you WILL have more options!

If you use crushed porkrinds to your Loaf, I'd recommend not adding more salt. JMO.

I love to cook, although not a baker, I am always reluctant to post since I tend to throw stuff together, I will have to measure and try to formulate recipes,if I can figure out how to load pics, LOL

Yum McD!! Homemade hollandaise sauce is pretty easy to make (once you get the hang of it) and since YOU make it, you know there is zero sugar in it. That would be yummy on the asparagus.

You're gonna make me get up and look it up
![]() From the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook (the red and white checkered one) 3 beaten egg yolks 1/2 cup butter 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon lemon juice dash of salt/white pepper Stir egg yolks and lemon juice vigorously in saucepan. Add 1/4 of the butter. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until butter is melted. Add remaining butter, stir until butter is melted and sauce is thickened. The trick is to stir, stir, stir, and stir some more so that it doesn't curdle or scramble. I have even seen it recommended to be easier on a double boiler. I don't have one so I just do it in regular pan and use really low heat. Don't be surprised if you mess up the first batch or two texture wise....it takes practice
