how long before results?

I just started induction today, and would like to know how long it took for you to get any results? 1 or 2 days? a week? a month? how much did you lose? how long before you entered ketosis?

Everyone is different, but there are some common patterns.

It takes most people around 3 to 4 days to use up the last of the stored glucose and go into Ketosis.

Most of the big loss during Induction is water, which can be lost pretty fast compared to fat. Some people will lose most of that in the first week and lose little or nothing in the second week. For others it will be more spread out through the two weeks.

But either way by the end of the two weeks most people will have lost excess water weight and be in ketosis and starting to burn fat.

Many people will have a bit of a pause after that first loss. Induction is a big shock to the system and the body may need time to adjust itself. Don't worry about that. Just stick to plan and the fat loss will resume, usually after a few days or a week.

I'm personally a "ten percenter", both my Inductions I lost 10% of what my final weight loss total was. After that I lost on average 1-2lbs a week. (Though my second time losing was slower than the first) These are pretty typical results from what I read on here. The rate of loss depends a lot on what size you're starting at, your age and sex etc, though, so that is very variable.

I lost 8 lbs. the 1st week then plodded along at 1 or 2 pounds during weeks 2-6. For whatever reason I dropped 4 in week 7 and 3 in week 8. Who knows what next week will bring.

I started Monday, and as of this morning I have lost 8 pounds! That's more than I lost in 6 months on Weight Watchers!

I usually get results on the scale on the 1-2 days after starting induction. I usually get visual results and/or looser clothing within 3-4 weeks.

I started induction on 3/17 and am down 13 lbs. I'm staying on induction for a while.

Are you doing an Atkins Induction by the book? Even if you want to do more your own plan eventually it's a good idea to do Atkins Induction exactly to the rules. It works for most people. It's when people start tweaking it that it doesn't get the famous Induction style results.

im not exactly doing induction by the book... but i keep it pretty low carb.. about 50 total carbs per day (though that ranges from 40 - 80 from day to day)
i started doing cardio today, so maybe that will help!
