I just hit the 20 pound mark over the weekend. As of today, it's taken me 40 days to lose 20 pounds. This is mostly water weight though.

Nope LOL I haven't seen my abs in years. I do notice that my size 16 pants are too big to wear now and the 14s are a little loose also.

It usually takes me a week to 10 days to lose 10 lbs, and 25 days to 30 to lose 20 lbs.

Im not close to goal so I don't see any muscles yet, but my tummy does get a little flatter, probably cuz its not filled with so much food anymore.

the first time i used Atkins it took me about 10 weeks to lose the first 25 pounds..i did Not do Induction..i did begin my first week eating 20 net carbs or less but i ate whatever low carb food i wanted like strawberries and foods with sugar alcohols and low carb breadstuffs..i added net carbs gradually after week one..and then..the other 50 pounds took about 3 years..mostly because i had a difficult time getting my body adjusted to the lack of carbs and i kept falling off the program..during that time i tried to eat 40-60 net carbs a day..But..keep in mind..every time i fell off..i ate God Only Knows what..of course i would gain some of the weight back..so for those years it was like 2 steps forward..one step back..3 steps forward..1 step back..kind of thing for me..if i had not been so terribly addicted to carbs and screwed up so many different weeks.. i am Postive i would have lost that weight in half the time it took me..also..be aware..i was young..young people have an easier time losing weight in general..once women hit their 30's its my opinion weight loss slows down...also keep in mind...losing weight does Not Equal losing fat..when i say i lost 25 pounds in 10 weeks..that was pure fat not water!!!

I do not know how much I lost on induction, only that I lost. I did not weigh myself or do any measurements. I could see it in my face first and slowly I see it everywhere else.

What I do know is that I finally got on the scale around the 2nd week in January and I have only lost 5 pounds since then. I feel good so I keep on chugging along.

It has taken me a month and half (I think about 48 days) to loose 19.5 pounds. I lost the first 10 pounds in the first week.

After my initial 16lb loss on my first two weeks of induction I suffered major carb creep. I have been able to recognize the low carb foods that cause me to binge and I am now sticking to the basics. That is working well for me. Now I am ready to get on board with the exercise

based on everything i have read from others over the years..i think it is very reasonable to assume one can lose the first 20 pounds in a 4 to 8 week range..it depends on how overweight someone is..anyone over 250 starting weight.. is going to lose more weight faster..people under 150 starting weight ..are going to lose less weight slower..

I just try to eat clean, drink lots of water, and hope for the best. It worked for me the first 2 times around and I dropped 100 and then 50 lbs. I am hoping I have some of that good fortune this time around too!

There are times when I read these boards and I feel so motivated and other times I read them and everything seems so complicated and confusing. I am still working on picking and choosing what works best for me.

i agree...its easy to get caught up in scale numbers..the fact is..if you do what Atkins teaches..it Works!! all the doubt comes from ppl wanting specific weight loss on the scale..and the scale is such a poor measure of body fat and also of what we look like ..and what size clothes we wear..focusing on weight loss is over rated in the long run..doing the program Works..its that simple..anyone who actually does it..sticks with it..will be successful..how long it takes will vary from individual to individual..

Took me about 2 months to lose 10 pounds... I had a few slip ups and had some time where I was really good and saw no progress on the scale... But today I can officially say I've finally lost 10 pounds! 10 more to go:-)

When I did this hardcore back in the fall of 2008, I lost crazy weight. I remember starting in Oct. 2008 and lost about 15-20 pounds by the middle of November.

I CAN'T remember the last time i gave induction a fair chance. i really feel though that i FINALLY understand the talk of woe and lifestyle and not being on a diet. I have been through so much and I finally get it. so when it comes to clean eating I will lose weight and my hope is that with my choice of eating that I will also lose 20lbs in 2mths.

I had 20 pounds to lose, total. It took me 4 months and a week.
I lost at a rate of about 1.5 pounds a week, though the last few pounds came off at 1/4-1/2 of a pound per week.
I am 5'7" and went from a size 16 to a 10.

I lost 20 lbs in 8 weeks. I have about 9 lbs to go till I am at my weight. I am 5'6" and went from a 12 to a 6 in size.
I lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. I restarted induction after the holidays so from Jan 4 - Jan 26.

My best weight lose was 21.5 lbs in 3 weeks and that was about half of the weight I needed to lose.

I tend to lose fairly easily once I am truly recording my food and watching the way I eat.

I've been on the plan for over 2 months, and only lost a total of 9 pounds. I lost a couple of inches, but not much at all. It's frustrating, but I'm sticking with it.

Kisha, don't get frustrated - you are doing great! I'm just starting on low carb after a very restrictive diet. If I can lose 4-5 per month on low carb, I will be happy to stick with it to goal because it is such a pleasant diet

It usually takes me no time at all to lose that first 10, about a week usually. It takes about a month for me to lose 20. It's just as easy to gain it back though.
