Squad it is so tough with kids and candy around. I am lucky as my youngest is 41...though she and I can lead each other astray very easily.

Look at the book again, try to remember that the candy is for a moment but the new body will last! You can do this, as Lisa says, so much is in the mind.

Pup, I was getting to the 2 pairs of pants stage too. It is a great motivator looking at clothes I love and knowing that I'll be in them soon!!!!

Confession: I only have 2 pairs of pants that I can wear out of the house, and one of those has a ripped knee that keeps getting bigger. I'm going to throw those out soon and will only have 1 pair! I keep meaning to get to a thrift store just to get something to hold me over, but I haven't yet. If I could just get down 1 size, I'd be okay as I have lots of stuff to wear down there. *fingers crossed*

And as to the eating candy and stuff with kids around, it is SO hard sometimes. Yesterday and today, though, I've noticed that I don't even really want the stuff that's around. I made a chocolate pudding for everyone last night and didn't lick the spoon or anything. The very idea of losing weight is much more appealing to me at this point. So in that sense, it is VERY much mental. But I also highly recommend having a few induction friendly treats around that you can indulge in, if need be. Like pup said, just buy some of the candy bar type Atkins bars or something like that. I also keep a cold can of zero carb soda in the fridge (just one!) to conquer a sweets craving quickly and easily. It feels very indulgent to me and keeps me on plan. Don't have to do it very often, but when I do, I'm always grateful I had one around. Better to have an Atkins bar or a diet soda than sugary candy, right?

I just keep telling myself that Induction is only for a short time. Soon enough I can make some of my favorite yummy low carb sweets that have nuts and other higher-up-the-ladder stuff. And I will enjoy it that much more because I've earned it and it's on plan. And I'll be smaller which makes any deprivation a whole lot easier to deal with for a short time!

I know we all have portion control issues, so just keeping one serving of something around that could be a trigger and even that in an inconvenient place is super important, too.

We can do it. We are strong and capable women.

Me, too! I will have lots of choices once I lose a good 10-15 lbs! Glad to know I'm not the only one! Walked the dog today, 1.5 miles. So far, that's my only exercise but it's more than I used to do because I used to do NOTHING!

This is day four for me and it's been really good so far. Don't feel deprived at all and am enjoying all of my meals. Yay!

I feel that I may have overeaten this evening, but when I count my carbs I am fine. I made the salami sausage 'crisps' and ate them with some Boursin, along with 5 asparagus spears with butter.

I think it is the sodium I am feeling so it is drink, drink, drink that water!

Hope the drive into the city goes okay Lisa.

So we all worked out today? Yay us.

Yep water water water ...I realized that TOM is due this weekend so that explains my feeling crummy and bloat setting in I don't expect to see losses again till next week now.

The drive into the city was interesting...made a few wrong turns but got it figured out eventually and DD arrived safely and on time

Thank you so much for the support, Ladies!! I love it!

I guess I was caught off guard with the candy, but back on track. I am trying to convince a friend (who said she'll start a diet AFTER the new year), she should go Atkins. Hmmm, we'll see. She is still very old school thinking, and that's fine. Not everyone can/wants to do Atkins.

Thanks again, Ladies!

You may be able to remind your friend, gently, that Thanksgiving and Christmas will come around every year. It would be lovely to think that if we lose our weight, we will be able to eat indulgently forever after, sadly that is not true for most people. However, see my Siggy!

Well I was up half a pound this morning and that will be because of all the salt last night. Never mind it will go again, eating more carefully today. Still plan to indulge myself pleasantly though.

Been to the gym for a good stretch in Body Balance.

Have a great induction day everyone.

I know...I don't understand why people wait...my Mom is the same way...she sees how successful I've been, but refuses to try it my way...to me I'd rather be on plan BEFORE the holidays to get through without gaining another 10-20. That's just MORE weight to try to lose the next year...but to each his own right? So glad Clutterbug started this group and we are on our way to being DOWN a few pounds by New Years... WOOT!!!

Scale read 150.5 this am...sooo close to those 140's TOM is knocking on my door...gotta take some Ibuprofin and drink plenty of water today.

Menu yesterday:

2 Atkins shakes
6 oz steak
broccoli florets w/ butter
pepperoni slices
1 Tbsp PB

Total net carbs= 10

Let's do this ladies!!!!

That is so true! I'm usually the same way, I want to lose weight before the holidays but I usually just wait and indulge and then start with the whole New Year's Resolution brigade. Not this year!! I'm already thinking about what kind of Atkins-friendly foods I can bring with me to my family's Thanksgiving.

Mini-goal for the day: Drink enough water!! I know I never do, and I'm going to tally it today.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, everyone!

Sore today from my WO yesterday. Weight's about the same, but I also had a bit of sodium at dinner time last night, so who knows if it's a little extra water or what? I'm working on mentally being okay with not losing every day. I suppose I could try weighing once a week, but that seems so radical to me! I'm not there yet.

Anyway, looks like we're all doing well so far. Way to go ladies!
For me, I'm at 4 days down and 10 to go with induction....getting there.

Just got back from shopping with DDs. My oldest needed pants for her new job...couldn't find ANY in her size... she's XS/00 See we don't like being heavy, but she's so tiny and petite she can't find bottoms to fit and wishes she could. One saleswoman actually suggested she eat more My daughter is not anorexic or even look it...she's just blessed with a nice figure. We did get some cute tops BOGO 50% and clearance, buy one get one for $.01

She will have to shop in the children's department! Got to love the BOGO tops.

I have finished my eating for the day with chicken, mushrooms, and celery in a light cream sauce. (And a little bit of the Best.Ever.Cheesecake I made this afternoon.)

Dinner sounded yummy...I had a grilled chix bacon ranch salad while out at the mall...I'll drink a shake for dinner and have some mac nuts before 8pm.

REALLY???? I get them at my Walmart and Target. I used to only be able to get the chocolate flavors, but just recently both stores are carrying the Mocha Latte I know you can get em online, but then you have to pay the shipping Hope they become more popular and readily available, Kissa. I don't know what I'd do without my shakes

The shipping is pretty expensive. Tesco stores here have almost stopped selling their own brand LC shakes, which I used to rely on. I phone them regularly find out which stores have them.

I am guess and toss it in cook most of the time squad.

I used a small red onion, sliced, one garlic clove, fried gently, threw in some copped celery and sliced mushrooms, 1/2 a mushroom stock cube, a little water and then the sliced cooked chicken breasts. Finally I added some Fromage Fais. DH got it with rice! Took no time.

Mmmm...that sounds so delicious, Cindy!

We had cheeseburgers tonight. I usually make something very quick and simple on a Friday if we don't go out. With 4 kids now, it's usually easier to cook than go out these days!

I'm feeling very crave-y right now. Just finished dinner, but still wanting more. Ate the rest of my jello fluff. Still wanted more. Sipped some cream (to me, that's an induction dessert!). Still feeling like more. So I'm getting out of the house. I have a baby shower to attend tomorrow. I'm going to go buy a gift. Taking a lemon lime seltzer with me to keep my mouth busy! And my challenge tomorrow will be to not eat whatever's at the baby shower. Probably drink an egg cream and have some flax muffins before I go (it's at 10 am).

Check back in tomorrow!

Clutterbug - I was feeling very crave-y (love that word) this afternoon. I ended up eating 1 low carb cracker (not induction friendly) with some butter on it. Weird, but it helped. Then I got the he** out of the kitchen and grabbed a book to read!

Dinner tonight, chicken, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes for the boys. I got some ingredients for a sugar-free cheesecake - can't wait to try it!!

Have a great night, all!
