MISSG!! Oh my goodness girl. I was worried sick!! lol. Your Grounded! LOL
We were checking around for you. Lol, yes I did check your local online newspaper. LOL Im such a dork. I worry and then I get obsessive about it.
Im glad to see that your ok and that your weight has dropped!! Wow 205 good job!! So, Saturday you were at 205, then Sunday you had a "free" day, right?? You'll shake off those extra pounds fast then. That may have been just the thing you needed. Did you have the carb Hangover? I have been wanting a cheat day really bad lately. Yesterday I was so hungry all day, I just couldnt get enough food! I have been trying to get my extra 5 carbs from veggies a day. Its really hard! I dont like eating veggies at breakfast. Its easier to get those extra carbs from dairy or nuts than it is from veggies. Last night I had a rum and diet coke. I was really hesitant, but I went for it. I'll say it again. I'm so over drinking! I dont even know why I do it. My husband wanted to so I though I would too. Yesterday I think I had about 20 carbs. I had a pumpkin minute muffin after dinner.Well. I hope you have a great day today! We are glad that your back!! Good job with your loss on Saturday!

Lawmom, Slow weight loss is a good thing though. Its easy to get impatient, believe me. No TOM yet and No loss yet, oh well.
How much do you think you lose a week,.. about 2 pounds? I think you are doing so good, it seems very steady.
I hope everyone is doing great today!! I was going to weigh in this morning, but I did have a couple drinkies last night, and I went to bed on a full tummy, never a good thing. Although yesterday I did go for a 1.5 mile walk /job. I plan on doing it again today too. I dont know why I'm still stuck at this weight. I measured myself yesterday and the Tape still has all the same numbers on it. This is really annoying. Unfortunetly this is what happened last time I did Atkins. I got down to 137, moved up to 140 and stayed there for 2 months. Druring that time I was working out 4 days a week, running ,lifting weights. Then I gave up and started eating FDA normal again. Back then I didnt have you guys though. I'm just afraid that by Christmas I'm still going to be stuck at 20 carbs day and 140!
When I hear of people go through OWL, some are at 80 carbs a day, where does all those carbs come from! I can barely eat another cup of vegetables a day. It seems like a lot of food to me.

Oh, I started taking 1500 mg daily on L carnitine. I read in DANDR that its supposed to help if your stalled. We'll see how that works. I started taking it on Friday.

Statinova, I know that frustrating, I have been gaining and losing the same 2 pounds since day 10 of induction, Do I look like a schmuck for putting up with the stall for over a month now?? Hang in there. Evenutally it will drop. I may be stuck because I am 5 pounds from my "ideal" body weight. Although Ive read about people plummeting past theirs so????

Thank you Jami. You know, being over 30 is a beeotch. WTH? Like, I've heard about metabolism and aging issues but, who knew I'd be a victim of it. I can't believe I let myself get back here. Well, it is what it is.

Hi everyone!
Lawmom - good job on that loss. You're trying to lose 2lbs a week? How's that going for you... has it been attainable, so far? I'm shooting for 2-3, and I'd be curious to know if that's a realistic goal 1 month/2 months/3 months/etc in.
I hope your procedure goes well - you'd better fill us in as soon as you're feeling better, or Jami will have a search team out looking for you!

Welcome back, Olivia. Looks like no one noticed you were gone...
Talk about this thread keeping us "accountable". Hahaha!
I did the same thing this weekend, with almost the exact menu as you - a couple of Doritos, 4 pieces of candy, then Mexican food for dinner.
My ring felt TIGHT the next day! I also felt sluggish and bloated... yuck. SO not worth it.

"Nothing tastes as good as being thin FEELS."

(Horridly enough, that is one of those pro-ana slogans I used to be oh-so-familiar with... however, this isn't being taken to extremes so I don't feel like it's so wrong to use it!)

Oh, and PS: Sorry the party was a bust. Booooo!

Startin - when do you weigh in next? Want to do Friday? Those extra lbs should be gone by then... I'm not weighing myself until Friday around 11am, hoping for that exact thing!

Ok missy -- no more 2 day disappearances without letting us know in advance. I felt like I feel when my daughter doesn't call home to let me know she is going to be late! No seriously, we were concerned. Sorry the party wasn't more fun for you and sorry you have been feeling a little down lately. Now that you are back to your clean induction you will start to lose again in no time. As you know the extra pounds you put back on with one meal is mostly water weight and it should come off pretty quickly. Does support my saying that it seems like if we eat one meal that we really want the scale can go up 5 pounds --- but it takes in excess of 2 weeks for me to usually lose that same 5 .... Not fair at all!!!

You guys are so silly. But seriously...thank you for being so concerned for me. I guess since we do spend so much time "chatting" with each other it just comes second nature to worry about each other. ITs a GOOD thing though.

And look at you.....191............Gee Tara...where are you going????? Oh wait your on your way to the 180's!!!.....KUTGW! I hope your appt goes well for you. TTYL.................

As for me, the scale this morning said 191.6 .... so losing yes --- but it is just soooo sloooooowwww. I have my first ever mammogram today and do not want to get up and get dressed this morning ... but better get my butt to moving. Next monday is my day surgery procedure which will put me out of commission for 2 days as far as work goes -- so can't afford to miss any more time. Talk to you all later.

MissG, To answer you questions about RUm, Yes! There are extra veggies in there, about 2.5 carbs per glass! So I got my extra 5 in LOL YOu are so funny. Its easy to start to rammble isnt it!! oh I found a thread on another website about getting in veggies.
This person who referred me to this thread is a "moderator" for this thread, and she has noticed that when those extra carbs from veggies are added, people start losing again. Here is a sample menu for all of us.
Menu 1:
Breakfast:
Omelette made from 2 eggs, 1 ounce cheese, 1/2 cup mushrooms

Lunch:
Tuna + 1 tablespoon mayo
1 cup lettuce, 1/2 cup tomato slices, 1/4 cup celery slices, 1/4 cup cucumber slices
Cheese crisps made from 2 ounces of cheddar cheese

Dinner:
Pork chop
1/2 cup sauteed cabbage
5 net carbs pumpkin puree whipped with butter, salt and pepper

The minimum daily vegetable intake includes:
1/2 cup mushrooms ("Salad" list)
1 cup lettuce ("Salad" list)
1/4 cup celery slices ("Salad" list)
1/4 cup cucumber slices ("Salad" list)
Salad list total = 2 cups

1/2 cup tomato slices ("Other" list)
1/2 cup cabbage ("Other" list)
Other list total = 1 cup

Rung 1 OWL vegetables:
5 net carbs pumpkin puree.

I though this looked pretty good. Sometimes it confusing how much fat and protein we are supposed to be getting. Apparently Im not getting enough fat, and to much protein. To much protein can be converted to glucose. I have some homework to do. LOL

I drempt of artichokes last nite. Those sound so good too...However, I have never made them because I don't know how to properly cook them. If I remember correctly, from a friends mom years ago, she would cut the pokey tips off and boil them or is it steam them? See Im a hot mess with veggies...I am making an honest effort to get them in. Im trying...lol..

yes, its milled "ground" flax seed. Different name brands has different carbs. I use hodgins red mill it has 4gcarbs and 4g fiber = 0 net. I love that. You can find it over by the flour and bread mixes. Yes I use libbys pumpkin puree. 1/2 cup has 4 net carbs. I like it with 1oz cream cheese, cinnamon in microwave oh and splenda. Or just whipped with melted butter and salt and pepper for a side. Libbys is the best in taste and texture.
I love brussel sprouts. They taste like cabbage . Aspargus I just steam them snap off the woody ends first. Artichokes, you can get them canned or jarred, I make spinach artichoke dip and dip veggies in it, like celery and cucumbers.

KETO products...years ago when I was Atkins before there were products by a company called KETO, they appear to have gone off the radar..anyone know what happened to that company? They had fantastic low carb products one in particular was Cajun crumbs that you could use like shake n bake...

Not enough fat?! Too much protein?! Carbs from veggies vs. carbs from everything else?!
Oh, man... so overwhelming!

As for the asparagus goes - grill it! It's my absolute favorite thing ever, and the only way I like asparagus... sprinkle a little salt and pepper on it, then grill away. I grill it until it's charred. Fantabulous.

So, ladies - just realized I made a really stupid mistake.
Got half-way through addressing envelopes (for the wedding, of which 274 invitations are going out), and... GUESS WHAT?!
Totally addressed them WRONG!

In order to avoid the whole "Mr. and Mrs. John Doe", I've opted to use both first names... "Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Doe".

Unfoooorrrrrtunately, the way I actually addressed the first 100-something is as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Jane and John Doe.

Here's how I felt upon realizing this:

("Uh-ohhhh... I think I just noticed something...")
("Yup. Definitely wrong. Do I have enough envelopes?!")
("Definitely DON'T have enough envelopes.")
("Also, just wasted a whole Sunday...")
and ("...and now have to start over.")
("Kind of feel like gouging my eyes out with a grapefruit spoon!!!")
("Oh, wells... guess I have my plans for next weekend solidified.")

Hey there. My goal was originally to lose 10 pounds per month or an average of 2 pounds a week. I have not quite been able to get there -- but I also can't exercise hardly at all. I started on 8/9/09 and I have lost about 24 pounds -- so unless I lose 6 pounds by next Monday -- which won't happen, then I am close but no cigar ... Sorry to hear about the wedding invite snafu -- the wedding I was in back in August had 2000 people at the reception -- I don't even know that many people!

I added a couple Tbsp of Pumkin puree and increased my cook time to 1min 30 sec. YUMMY
This is my recipe as well. I don't put the pumpkin in but have added some of the banana flavored Davinci's before ...

See Im a hot mess with veggies...I am making an honest effort to get them in. Im trying...lol..
I can honestly say I have NEVER dreamt of veggies!!!! I don't like artichokes. I like cabbage but do not like the brussell sprouts ...

OK funny -- my 12 year old boy is listening to I'm all out of love by Air Supply ... I used to have that CD and when I tried to get them to listen to it a couple of years ago they considered that torture!

2009 Holiday Challenge

Ok ladies....tell me what you think....I was thinking to just start the challenge in this thread or should we just start a new thread in the Low Carb challenge area devoted to just that. Doing it in the other area and devoting it to just that will allow us to just keep to that specific thing. Otherwise it could get really crazy with finding our last posts to referre back to our weigh in dates and whatnot.

At anyrate....it would be Under Low Carb Support Groups; Low Carb Challenges.

The thread would be for friday weigh ins..... and daily meal accountability and any fitness we have done for the day. This thread will be for our everyday mumbo jumbo...lol. Since we love to chitty chatt so much.....I know I do!

Just an Idea...unless we agree to just keep it here.

For those that are in...which I think its the majority of us...please let me know what you think!

So just for the last roll call on who is in....please send me a PM just saying YAY or NAY! I will start the the challenge with those names who PM me to officially be in.

&&&&&Ladies!!!!
