Broke down and had the margarita! My "is drinking this worth it" was actually leaning on the Yes side ... The restaraunt where the party was makes the BEST margaritas ever and we don't get down there very often, so it was worth it to me. That being said, I did pass up the chips, dip, tortillas, beans, rice, and cake and had a chicken breast with cheese for dinner (which I could only eat half of)....

Lawmom...when I used flax meal as a coating...I seasoned it with herbs and spices combined a little almond meal (just a tiny bit), dredge the meat or chicken in egg first and then in the dry mixture.

I looked up the carb count on a margarita (just curious) and for 12 oz is 46 carbs. But, I see you are doing moderate carbs, not the 20 on Atkins, so should be ok.

Didn't have a weight loss today, but Wed is my end of week one anyway. Just sticking to my under 20 and around 1300 cal. I still count calories, because in the past when I didn't I would go way overboard!!

To me it wasn't even the flavor that was a problem, it was the texture. But I have made the 1 minute muffins with the flax meal and they are not horrible...

Yeah I tried to pretty much do the 20 carbs the first two weeks ... but I am determined to make this a lifestyle change rather than just a diet, therefore, I KNOW that I would not be able to stick with it if I didn't have some of the things I like -- at least in moderation. For me, giving up the food --and mexican food is my favorite -- means that I am doing better than I would have otherwise done ... and I did limit it to 1 margarita which was probably only 8 ozs. at the most, so I am pretty pleased with myself regardless.

My mom wanted to go to McDonalds to get breakfast and got a little upset that I just wanted my leftover chicken from the night before. That being said, my step-dad made the wonderful comment "you look like you have lost some weight!" Of course, he is my new favorite person.
Thank you! They actually had pizza luckily I ate a hamburger before I left just in case. But they did have bbq chicken with no sauce and no breading, so I had 1 piece. At first I took it personal, but now I just look at it as they are not in my shoes, and just don't understand. We just have to remember we are doing this for us and no one else.. Once I lost all the weight they all wanted to know how, I try to tell them and kind of inspire them (they are all obese) But they just chock it up tp oh!! So just no bread? yeah they don't get it and are not willing to try so I quit wasting my breath.

Ok so no real big splurge on carbs.. i went shopping with my inlaws.. ugh hate it... Then we went to dinner.. I had a side salad with blue cheese and oredered a quesidilla.. I was going to eat the whole thing, but didn't even eat 1/2 the tortilla.. I scrapped all the chicken and peppers and stuff out, mixed it with the sour cream and pico de gallo... ummm Yummmmmmmmmmm... I know I am under the 50 carb total I set for today.. So feeling good.. Back to VLC tomorrow...

Hello ladies...........

Looked like everyone had a wonderful weekend! You guys are so awesome. I ended up going out on friday nite instead of saturday. I had a 3 shots throughout the nite and 1 vodka/tonic water..which I didnt finish. Was it worth it, I guess for that moment it was but did I pay for it??? Yes I did. Up 3lbs from friday morning. Im not to pleased about that. BUT, that is all on me. I stuck to my plan eating wise all weekend but still the scale is up. I will have to work harder to undo all friday nite..lol.

I will check in with you guys later on today.

Have a wonderful Monday ladies!!!!!

Yesterday was my official "weigh in" day but I didn't do it b/c I was still out of town that morning. However, I did weigh in this morning, and it doesn't look like I did any damage with the margarita.... however, I am still at 206 and have hit a second mini (hopefully) plateau. TOM came overnight so I am feeling pretty blah today. Doubt I will get much exercise in this week, so I am going to have to really watch the food intake instead.

Missgreen: Glad you had a good time! I am sure that it won't take long to undo those 3 lbs. for you.

Peach: Again, I am so proud of you. You are an inspiration.

Hope everyone has a great Monday.... personally, I am finding it hard to get moving today!

Does anyone know what the nutrition facts are for one of the egg cream drinks? I had one this morning, but don't know how to add it on fitday...

No, sorry. I have yet to try them. You will probably need to add the ingredients seperately.

I don't use fitday but I add whatever ingredients I used to make my luscious egg cream de jour.

That reminds me, MissGreen - I had asked last week if you had ever tried egg creams in place of the EAS shakes. So, have you?

Good afternoon, ladies (and any lurking man eyes). Had a busy weekend but food-wise it was great. Had a couple of food outings which consisted of bunless bacon cheeseburgers and veggies and then another time, chicken fajitas w/guac, cheese, sour cream and steamed veggies.

Lost 1+ lb. on Saturday morning and another 1 lb. this morning, making my total loss for this month 8.6 lbs. Today marks the first week of Induction done, so I lost 6.4 lbs. so far. The other 2+ lbs. were from calorie counting. After induction I'll quit separating them because I was trying to do a lc version of WW. and just include them. Oh, and when I began the lc/ww this month, I had a goal to lose 10 lbs. by the wedding. Two more lbs. and I'll have made it! But ... I'm at the point where I usually hit a brick wall. But if I want to lose 50-60 lbs., I've hit the 10% mark and shouldn't be surprised if I don't lose anymore on Induction, right? Atkins pros?

Now, I'm in full throttle wedding plans as this Saturday is THE day for my youngest son's wedding. I've never done this before so pray for us all!

Good Day...I'm late checking emails...I'm down another 1.5 lbs for a total of 4.5 in 5 days am very happy with that.

I don't know what an Egg Cream is...tell me what it is made of and I can look up the carb count in my big book

According to Atkins Induction can last as long as you feel you want the faster weigh loss and stick to under 20 carbs. I plan to stay on Induction until I reach my 3rd goal.

Hi all! I stayed on Induction so to speak for the majority of my weight loss, although I did add in berries and nuts. And towards the end upped my carbs to about 40-50 per day. But for a good part of the year I stayed around induction numbers.. It just worked for me..

why I havent started

I wish I knew - 2 years ago I was all about the gym and atkins and now I dont know if its because I am so upset over my age and ending my period a month ago that I kind of given up... I dont want to - I want to have that old mindset again but I always just give up...
I reunited with my high school fling on facebook and he is coming to town in Nov and he is also recently divorced - now why am I not working toward this Nov reunion - why?
My x left me with a 3 and 5 year old for a 24 year old and I should be wanting to make a life for myself and get healthy esp for my kids and yet I wallow in self pity - I start the day atkins and end the day fatkins.
I hate coming home from work and trying to figure out an atkins dinner that will satisfy me and then cooking it, by that time its 8:00. I know its my fault - I need to want this like I use to... how do you woman find time to work and cook and clean etc...and plan for atkins, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Its so nice to have someone to vent to...thanks I mean it!

Dance.. The best I can offer you is to try to make some of the food ahead of time maybe on the weekend?... Make sure you always have some kind of meat on hand, so if you are too tired to cook you can just throw it on a plate or into a salad...

Oh and men are stupid.. you are better off without him...

I used the egg beaters and didn't really like it until I added the splenda... then it kind of tasted like a milkshake ... but I did notice an aftertaste later.

would someone please tell me what an Egg Cream recipe is? Thanks.

Dancein: I am lucky because I don't have kids and I can control the foods in my house. But, still had problems 3 times this past year trying to go back to Atkins and failed. But, this time it was easier. I started out easy by keeping it simple. If you like tuna. I would mix a can of tuna with mayo and dump on a salad for a meal when I'm in a hurry. When I have the time...I cook up meat ahead of time and package up for individual meals and just supplement with veggies. Since all I eat is meat and veggies, it's simple.

This is just to get started...then later, I take the time to prepare recipes for variety. Hope this helps.

good going sobby! lmao at myself??why..cause I swore I was going to get my arse up and start walking but I am bieng so damn lazy. I have catalogs to build, looking into a real estate companies to get into (my intentions on taking nite classes at the local college is now going to end up bieng a 2yr adventure, rather then a 6wk accelerated real estate program through an office), running the house, dealing with kids (being brats since school has started) running after a very bratty soon to be 2yr old and life in general. Ok so Im making more excuses then it should be a big deal about. I need to get my arse in gear.

All this and I still feel Im doing it by myself although I have an other in the house. I call him my child too....MEN! lol......

You guys are such inspiration though, I do admire all of your strengths and even if you dont feel strong everyone here makes you feel great.

oh btw the way..I feel obligated to share my oooopsie last nite. I had 8 mcD fries and 1 chickie nugget. I was so dang busy everywhere today that I did not have time to even take a sec for myself. so it felt. I picked up mcD's for the kids and did my damage..lol.

I dont feel like I "fell off the wagon" nor do I feel "guilty". I just had to share....cause everyone has a day where they do make a mistake. I have done well in the last 3wks and I know I will continue to do well.

Well I hope everyone has a great day today.......today is september 1st and as of today I will weigh in monthly. My weight will probably be higher then last weeks due to my "nite out" and My october 1st goal is to be at 210. I hope to see that number then. I am having my guy put up the scale after I weigh in later this morning and that will be it.

I will check in with you guys later.........
