Another birthday, another temptation!

Yesterday wasn't a very good day for me. It was my "2nd mom"z birthday and we ended up going out to breakfast AND dinner. We went to cracker barrell where I ordered the Eggs & Meat platter (scrambled with cheese) but I did end up eating a piece of the LC toast that came with it... only one, and ONLY with butter... no fruit spread.

For dinner we went to Famous Dave's Pork Rib's place. Everyone else ate off of a huge platter that had all sorts of meat on it... unfortunately, it all had bbq sauce on it, which I decided was probably a huge cheat on the diet. So I ordered myself a grilled chicken ceasar salad. I made a good choice, right?
I didn't dig into the free sundae she got and shared with everyone else, but I also didn't end up drinking much water yesterday. I was out most of the day shopping, but I MADE myself stop into 7-11 and grab a water. I feel guilty... I've been SO good about making myself drink at least 2 liters of water and I just didn't yesterday. Grrr....

I weighed in at 229 yesterday which is about 4 pounds down .... is that normal? I've heard of people losing upwards of 10. I'm going to start exercising next week. Joining the gym on my college campus ($50 unlimited use during the semester and it's RIGHT outside of my class!!)

Sounds to me like you made some pretty good choices... Technically, probably not induction foods, but I am doing more of a "modified" version of Atkins anyway. I think that we have to be happy enough with what we are eating that we stick with it. If I could only have meat and cheese, I would go nuts! In the long run, even if you were a little over your allotted number of carbs, you were probably definitely under what you would have been at before you got started. If you did get thrown off track, just start over and get right back on!

I have been on the plan for 3 full weeks and have only lost about 12 pounds so far.... but I am happy with that. Some people do a lot better their first couple of weeks than I did ... but again, I did not do a totally "strict" induction. We all have to find what works for us though, right???

Congrats with the loss! It is exciting to be able to buy a lower size. I am not there yet, but I am noticing that some of the clothes that were tight are now noticably looser. I am a 16 now but was probably pushing an 18 when I started...still can't wait to get back into the 14s that are in my closet, and the 12s, and the 10s....

What a weekend!!!! Rehearsal dinner Friday went good and the wedding/reception was beautiful and fun! I barely ate a thing either day and ended up reaching my 10 lb. goal loss for the wedding. We had leftover food and cake for Labor Day, so I did partake of the cake. Got right back on Induction yesterday and will wait until Saturday to weigh. I may move on to OWL next week depending on Saturday's weight.

Breakfast today was my usual egg cream, lunch is a BLT salad and I think dinner will be sausage and eggs. Dessert will probably be a little cheesecake snack. Yummo!
Congrats on making your goal for the wedding. I am sure it was beautiful. I had told myself I was going to get back to a more strict induction intake this week. I started out good yesterday ... but today I messed up again! Still under 20 net carbs, but 15 came from 2 LC tortillas and 1 LC ice cream bar! The challenge will be staying out of the kitchen for the rest of the night

Heya Flipper... Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok today I am seeing my kids off for the first day of school.. 1 is a freshman in High school umm the other is starting kindergarten LOL.. What was I thinking...

Diet wise I am doing good, no loss so far this week.. Ummm well duh after eating crap at the fair, what did I expect... I won't be online this weekend, until Sunday night.. I will be doing the Avon walk for breast cancer in Long Beach CA.. I am looking at the food they will be providing and am not that thrilled.. I may be living on protein bars for the most part.. They really push carb loading...

Good Morning everyone!! How is everyone today? I am feeling a bit bloated.. and.. Icky!! Planning to drink lots of water with lemon, hopefully that will help. But overall.. just glad to be on track.. Yes. I had a slight slip up this weekend.. UGH!! so frustrated with myself, hate to even admit it.. But I have to put it out there in order to overcome it. BTW I noticed, not posting and falling off plan go hand in hand.. It's like I cheated on everyone

So with that said, you will be hearing a lot from my big mouth and reading plenty of novels.. Prepare yourself now guys!!

I feel the same way, yesterday was my 8th day on induction and I screwed up with a handful of potato chips - I am so mad - I walked a mile and a half to work today and I will walk it home as well but does that make up for what I did? Isnt atkins chemical? meaning that exercise wont fix the mess I just made by eating that? Does anyone know?

Hey all. I've been reading over the OWL super thread and I'm askeered of it!! The '92 version sounds more up my alley - adding back foods I've missed. Not the carby things, but things like yogurt, unsweetened Almond Breeze and a little peanut butter. Has anyone done both versions?

I'm back in ketosis after having cake on Monday, so I'm hoping the loss I had on the weekend has stuck when I weigh in on Saturday.

Crap! I thought I'd been doing really well at staying WITH the induction foods. What did I mess up on?? Dressing??? Is there any dressing I actually CAN have?? I'd bring some with me, but I have yet to find any that is LC or SF!! Where'd I screw up?? HELP!

I bought a new scale, piece of crap btw, and it said I was down 9 lbs. Well my other scale is awesome but it was killing batteries right away. So I bought new batteries and decided to just take them out as soon as I was done weighing.

OMG My weight is the same!!! Is that freakin' possible after like 9 or 10 days of following plan perfectly and bike riding daily?

I'm just so upset.

Afternoon ladies.. How is everyone today? I am sitting here drinking my first egg cream.. quite good. just like a protein shake. I put too much soy protein though.. kinda chalky.. but good for me none the less!

Jen, don't stress, you are doing well! If you just try and stick with meat and veggies and cheese as the majority, you will be good. Whenever I have to have dressing when I am out. I always pick Ranch, higher fat but lower sugar than any balsamic or vinagrette..

Gottalot.. Don't be upset. You are not going to drop weight everyday constantly.. Just keep moving forward. and besides all that bike riding must be strengthening those thighs and gluts

Red.. I have always wanted to do the Avon walk but miss it every year. But for the last 3 summers we have had a team in the American Cancer Society relay for life. It is a 24 hour walk.. We set up camp and a booth and raise money. Very moving experience, and each of our team members have lost a loved one to Cancer.. Feels very good to be involved..

All my other buddies here.. Hope you are having a great day! Stay strong.. one day at a time! WE can do this!! WE are here for US!!

P.S. Miss ENVY.. Where you at?? those pre-teens didn't kidnap you did they!?!?

Yeah -- we all love novels. Posting keeps me on track for the most part too. I did pretty good today. Am hoping I will see the scale go down a little more over the next couple of days.

I had 5 chicken wings from Wingstop -- with no sauce but some ranch dressing for dinner. Of course, I had the other 5 earlier for a "snack". For breakfast I had an Atkins shake and for lunch I had some fajita meat and a little bit of guacamole. That's it for today. I am going to bed early tonight though to keep from raiding the LC ice cream bars!!!!

I don't really know if it is good or bad. Maybe someone else can tell us. I probaby eat the same LC tortillas b/c mine are 3 net carbs each too.... I'm past the two week mark and have moved out of the "strict" induction, but I am trying to stay under 30 carbs now.... The tortillas don't seem to have stalled me too bad or make me have any major cravings ... rather they keep me from going for the bread -- so I think it is a good trade for me.
