Why is Induction two weeks long?

I'm sure the answer is in my book which is buried deep within my book closet right now....

Is the idea to have a big drop in weight for motivation? Or are we supposed to be in deep ketosis for two weeks for a particular purpose?

If you screw up (not by going to Krispy Kremes but by eating too many vegetables) do you restart the two weeks or do you just keep going?

thanks in advance :-)

Induction is actually as long as you want it to be, but a minimum of two weeks. Part of that depends on how well you're doing on induction, how much weight you have to lose overall, and metabollic resistence.

What Induction does is get you jump started and the weight moving in the right direction. It takes a couple weeks for your body to adjust to this WOE especially if you've been eating very high carb, to get through the cravings that inevitably occur because you've cut out the crap.

You need two weeks to convert your body into a ketogenic engine. And as far as questions like, 'What do I do if I mess up?', my only advice is - don't. We can do anything for two weeks, right? Best wishes.

2 weeks is to show you that you are able to mentally do Atkins, and your body will be undergoing biochemical changes to be more effective as a fat burning engine. After 14 days Dr Atkins says 95% of the people trying his plan will lose weight and feel better.

Induction isn't punishment for cheating so if you screw up and eat high carb or over your bodies carb limit you do juts a few days of induction to get back in ketosis and then return to where you were in your phase of Atkins. If it is during your 14 days then you just keep going and on day 15 you will know your number of pounds lost will not apply to the metabolic resistance charts nor the predicted CCLL chart in chapter 14.

You can make it 14 days if you really want to after all do you deserve to be the smaller healtheir person you want to be or to eat those extra carbs? think about it.
