I understand what you mean about the boxers! Ours sad to say we had to find another home for! She was never tied, she roamed the yard and the property! Never had a problem with it! Great with the kids! We lived on a near dirt country road she never really got on the road usually the driveway, but people knew her and slowed down and she moved back to the yard! Never a problem! She did great with her boundries! i think she may have gone to the road maybe two times! But we moved and when we did, we moved on to a state route that is so busy! We thought it would be ok, we have chain link fence around the entire yard! BUT she could clear that fences as if it we a sport! We did not want to do it but we did we tied her when she was out side, and I will tell you it broke her spirit! It was so heart breaking that we made the decision to find a home for her where she coudl enjoy the fredom she has come acustom to having! It broke our heart and it has been 7 years, we still miss her, the family that took her loved her the same as we did ! That was the only happiness we had knowing they truely loved her! We worried that she would get hit on the road was more than we could bare~! Would love to have another one!

My parents have two female boxers plus a female saint benard! They love those dogs! With all three it is like a three ring circus but they are great! Her oldest was a rescue that had been abuse so badly it looked like she had been hit by a car! Cuts and bruises! The abuse had been for sometime, took some time for trust, but she is wonderful! Something how our pets become so much apart of our lives! Man nothing like getting off the path of LC!!!! LC!!!!

doing well...at least better.

I heard on the news today that the new atkins craze is the eco atkins...fruits, vegies and LC...I'm going to look into it...I like fruit and vegies better anyway.

Bah. The best part about Atkins is being able to eat meat.

How can they call it "Atkins" when there's fruit involved? That's NOT part of the original diet. Just my opinion, but still... call it something else.

Good morning everyone! This is the beginning of week 4 for me. Im feeling good and this is the best I have ever done on a diet. I havent cheated at all, though there have been a couple of times that I have felt like I cheated, even though I was having something that was allowed.

The scale was very kind to me this morning, as it says I am down 1.2 from yesterday ....I have to think that it must be water weight and I am waiting for it to go back up again....but for now

Im on plan for today. Working at home so will do more exercise than I got yesterday. Why is it, men cant make dinner?? If DH would make dinner, I could work out longer on the days I have to go to the office. Ah well, I have to remember that if he was cooking it wouldnt be LC, it would probably be cereal.

Menu plans for today arent solid, but will probably be:

B: coffee w/hwc
may not eat anything...but if I do it will be scrambled eggs.

L: chicken salad and a green salad

D: Lamb chops w green beans and a green salad.

Hope everyone is well and stays on plan today!

Hi, LCers!

I still haven't gotten a scale, and I'm sorry for that. I will try to do so tonight if there is time.

Yesterday I roasted a chicken with rosemary and butter... dang I love Atkins. It was so good. I also made the same spinach/cheese/pine nuts thing that I had last week, that was also so good. My soon-to-be DH loved it.

I also made that rhubarb cheesecake thing I had talked about earlier in the thread and it turned out just great. I have to tell you! I am pretty sure it only had 6 carbs per serving, maybe less. I made it in a spring-form pan, and it turned out so great. I did make the small concession of a few blueberries in there. Like I said, I hate to waste food. They were just going bad in the fridge day by day. But there was less than a 1/2 pint in there, so I figure that's only 2-5 blueberries per slice. I am sending the rest of the fruit with the man to work, since I know it could mess me up. We both loved the cake. If you want the full recipe on it, let me know.

Otherwise, I'm doing great on this, I feel like. I am eating allowed snacks and have mostly cut out the nuts, too. I had a lot more cheese yesterday than I probably should have, but whatever, only buy 1-2 servings.

Today:
B: Scrambled eggs with cheese and 3 sausages (2 carbs)
S: Jello (0 Carbs)
L: Chicken salad over a bed of lettuce (probably about 3 carbs)
S: Cheese curds (0 carbs)
D: Veggie stir fry with no rice and tofu (probably around 5 carbs)
may have another piece of that cake for dessert. (5 carbs)

Hope I'm doing it right! Ugh, I'm obsessed with eating.

I dont mind Off Topic...and I hope no one else minds....I try to stay on topic for the most part...but if you get me talking dogs, I just cant shut up. They are my passion.

I hope to breed quality boxers. My youngest girl was supposed to be my foundation. She is everything I wanted, Beautiful head, and body and gorgeous movement, with the correct temperament for the breed and the ability and desire to work. Unfortunately, she also has heart disease. So I cant breed her. I wont do anything to compromise this breed. So I have to start over. And that is difficult. It took me two years to find the puppy wanted for my future.

I dont like what is happening to the American style dogs, so I am importing dogs. Generally the health is better, and the structure also. And I want the working ability that we have lost in the american dogs. So to get it I have to import.

Boxers are high energy....and it is one of the things I LOVE about them. Here is a link to some fun pics of my crew playing.

Gallery Main

I point them to that when they ask if boxers are high energy. They really are...not like a border collie, its a different kind of energy, but they arent usually couch potatoes.

It is so nice to meet someone on the boards that loves boxers!

What's the point????

Honestly...I tried to be a vegetarian once....I gave it four months. I was miserable. I didnt feel good, and I was craving meat all the time.

I honestly believe there is some kind of genetic type memory there....I am descended from the english and the celts....the good old meat and potato type eating people....I feel better when I eat a diet with meat, I think, because that is what my ancestors ate.

I suspect other people feel best when eating the same kinds of foods their ancestors ate.

Its just a theory...but it seems to hold water when talking to my friends.

Ok so I'm back from vegas. I haven't stepped on the scale since I returned (which was last night). Yikes. I don't even want to know what I weigh. I'm going to skip weigh in for this week and bust my butt so I can weigh in next week. I was able to check my email and facebook while I was gone a few times since my husband had his blackberry but am not able to maneuver around this site from that so I couldn't check in, sorry! I didn't lose a ton of money but that's probably because I didn't gamble a lot either lol! The food and weather was great and we did A LOT of walking so maybe I'm not up as much as I think....

I don't have time to catch up on all the pages yet so I'll try to do that later today. I'm in detox from carbs at the moment and really craving something OFF PLAN! But I'm not giving in !

Your welcome! I love sharing them. I thought the Easter pics turned out really well. I love taking photos of them, and they are usually good enough to sit while I do it.

I want to improve the breed, and bring back some of what we have lost here. This is a working breed, and it is sad that we have lost most of that ability here. And we have lost the structure needed to be able to do a full days work without breaking down.

I have so many plans....but it will take a long time. But I am enjoying the journey.

I wanted something to munch on BAD.....before I started diner! I fried up some cheese and sprinkled some italian seasonings on the side facing up and just breifly flipped it! I like mine a bit crispy but still chewy!!!! OH BOY WAS THAT EVERY TASTY!!!!!

I have been reading and being entertained by your post. Seems like you have a nice group here. I'd like to jump on board occasionally if I can. I go to school FT, so sometimes time is limited.

I am back on a LC plan so I drop the final 20-25lbs that I am carrying around. Anyway, hope it's ok if I join?

Hi everyone

I just got on the scale and it is up 2 lbs. I feel bloated though. My boyfriend just stepped on the scale and has lost 10 lbs. I am so proud of him, but deep inside, there is some jealousy, he smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol and he is just losing the weight. He is not really restricting his diet, the way I am. He eats what he wants and it seems like he is losing weight effortlessly. He has so much energy. When he does Tae Bo, he uses resistance bands or 5 lb weight. I just use my own bodyweight. I wish the weight could just melt off of me. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill and then we did tae bo this evening. I love competing so he motivates me to work harder, so I know I have to step up my game to lose the weight like him. I just need to keep pushing myself. I guess until tomorrow.

I hate when I can't check in, and by the time I do, there's so much to catch up on! So much I wanted to comment on, but it would take forever and I'm tired. But I've read everything, and basically just , and

IDK if it's being back OP or what, but for the last 2 days I have been craving cigarettes so bad! So weird, I quit almost 16 months ago! I started smoking again after I had DD1 at right around this time, 8-10 weeks PP, so I need to really watch that so I don't start back. I NEVER want to go down that road again.

I have a pile of laundry to do and a dirty kitchen to clean, so I'll check back in tomorrow!

WMarin...Just remember that women dont generally lose weight as easily or as quickly as men. It isnt fairbut it is true. Nature wants women to hold on to their extra weight. It has something to do with being able to have kids and care for them. But I still hate it. This has often made me feel like I am beating my head against a wall when dieting in the past. But I have come to the conclusion that it is just something we have to accept.

So try not to get discouraged if your BF has an easy time with this and you dont. Go ahead and use the competition to your advantage, but keep this in the back of your mind so that you dont get frustrated and quit.

I think you are making fabulous progress!

Riot...stay strong! Its awesome that you quit smoking, and its better for your babies too.

I cant even imagine battling that addiction. I dont know why you would suddenly start craving it again after having quit so long ago, but given that you started at the same time after the last baby, there must be a reason.

I would say try to suck on mints or something..but they arent allowed. But surely there is something you can do to help battle the cravings...I have never smoked myself, so I dont have any real suggestions.

I think it must have something to do with weight loss. Nicotine is an appetite supressant, and I can think of sooooo many times where I staved off hunger with a cigarette. I started trying to diet when DD was about 2 months old, too. I don't think it's something I'll ever pick back up again, though. It really helps that LC isn't quantity- restrictive, and I can pretty much eat till I'm full anytime.
