You do not ask too many questions!

It was soup with chicken thighs (meat on the bone) - skin cut off. I used organic low-sodium chicken broth from the store, fresh onions, garlic, red potatoes and carrots and let it cook for about 5 hours. It was very mild, which is good for me, but kind of boring for my husband. But it worked!!!

Next time, I have been asked to use cut up meat without the bone and more spices. Wow! spices are pricey - especially when I am experimenting with them.

And my eggs came out great too. Thanks for the support you two.

My in-laws are doing the flat belly diet. Have you read about that one?

Congrats Donna on your new grand baby! My daughter was 4 lbs 14 oz. I was diabetic and they were afraid of her being too big. They put me on a diabetes diet and I lost weight and then she was too thin and 3 weeks pre mature. She was a little jaunticed too because of the diabetes. She got chubby real fast!

How was the delivery and how is Mom?

She was induced and delivery was just fine-15 minutes of pushing. They wanted to be in Boston just in case there was any problem but evidently no problems. His father says he looks just like his brother.

My only problem is that I don't have any girls to buy fabulous accessories for...

Had new blood work done to check on cholesteral, B12, low immune disease (Hypogammaglobulinemia).

Cholesteral is 200 - but good HDL is high - he's switching me back to Lipitor - I had better numbers then. I have been taking Simivastin.

I do have Hypogammaglobulinemia - he wants me to go back to my Allergy doc - I may need intervenus drips of Immunoglobabulin to build up my immunity. If not, he'll probably want me to re-start allergy shots. Ughhh!

I am priority to getting the Swine Flu shot. If anyone around me gets a "flu" - I must get a Tammi shot right away to prevent it. The Swine flu shots won't be available till next week is what they're telling my doc.

My B-12 is normal now (I started taking B-Complex right after the last blood test) so that's working.

My husband got the nasal spray immunization. Are they going to offer that?
Keep up posted. I've never heard of that condition - details?

I'm going to the allergist Monday to make sure I am not eating anything I am allergic to, as that will irritate my bladder.

I don't know how they test for food allergies. What kind of allergies do you have?

Annette

Hypogammaglobulinemia - is basically a genetic flaw in the blood - whereby a certain antibody is missing from the cells that fight infection and causes a deficient immune system. Common affects are: fevers, infections (eye, yeast, throat, upper respiratory, bronchitis, plurisy, lung disease, arthritis, fibromyagia) basically any malady that is a auto-immune disease. Sometimes it affect the intestines and you can have celtiac diseease (gluten intolerance), even frequent boils!

I have had all of the above since childhood except I outgrew my constant throwing up as a child. I was also a colic baby.

Though my deficiency is on the low side of normal, my medical doc says given I have all of the above, he wants me to dig further. I made an appointment w/my allergy doc yesterday for 11/9 - though my husband thinks he'll pass me off to a blood specialist (hematologist?) but still recommend me starting up the allergy shots again.

My allergy doc tested me for airborne substances. The main culprits are: cat dander, dust mites, mold and some trees (oak) and pollens. Thankfully - not dogs!

Ironically, a week after I stopped the allergy shots, I got bronchitis. So, we'll see what my allergy doc says.

As far as food allergies - you can ask your doc but food allergy testing is an animal of it's own and certain labs do it. My husband had his done by getting a blood test here and shipping it to a place in Florida. It was very accurate too. Regular allergy doctors in my area don't bother with food allergy testing or else I would have it done.

Safi had her Aqua Therapy. She was put in a tank that fills up with water quickly with a treadmill on the bottom. The therapist is in there with her and its plexiglass so we were able to sit and watch her. The funniest expression on her face...a little scared, very curious and happy all at the same time. She even put water jets on and Safi liked it! She also did laser treatment and a low frequency electrical pads on her knee. She was so good for it all and we clapped and praised her all the time. We'll do that for a month. It'll cost abut $70 a week. Then the vet gave me a paper to do my own physical therapy on her (like extending the leg and retracting it in as far as possible) to stretch out the ligaments that are tight from the recent operation. The vet said he liiked that she was putting full weight on her knee and thought she was coming along pretty well. She lost 2" of muscle mass on that leg but that's where the phyiscal therapy comes in - to rebuild it. She was kissing the therapist and the doctor. She's a charmer...all these vets and trainers love her. My neighbor's boxer male had a trainer come to her house and invited Safi to join and then invited me to bring Safi for her Field Training as a helper. Mommy's proud of her Boxer girl !

Oh Annette - forgot to answer you on the Swine Flu immunization. All they have is the Tammi shot - for those that are exposed to someone with a "flu" - which is what he wants me to do if I am exposed. It's not as good as the original but it'll help me from getting the flu. The Pharam Company promised it next week. He's upset because they promised the end of Sept. When they do get it in, it'll be for the regular and swine flu together. He wants me to definitely get it.

BAck to work yest. aft. Swamped as you might imagine. Had a good time with Maxwell and Zachary-Maxwell is doing pretty well as a big brother and Zachary is doing well. The Ped said if he hadn't known he had a condition he wouldn't have been able to tell by listening to his heart. They will probably do the operation within the year to correct it.

I froze a lot of meals for them, so that will help. I was sick with a bad cold, so didn't get to be near the baby till Sunday. He is sleeping and nursing well. He just needs to grow, which I am sure he will.

I have taught Max to call me "Nana Darling" We have lots of fun together and have special games and things we do. He is wonderful but a TERRIBLE eater. Very frustrating. Otherwise couldn't be better.

Nana Darling - that is adorable. Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm glad to hear that Zachary is doing well.

I really miss my grandsons.

It's hard to get back into the swing of things after you've been off an eating or exercise plan. I've been eating OK, but am a slug when it comes to exercise.

Take care,

Annette

Annette-I thought you were big time into exercise. I myself am certainly a slug. Can't remember the last time I exercised, and I got the Callanetics book from the library. Must take a look at it...

Weight is back up to 160.7. Fat fast this weekend...and maybe clean eating for a couple weeks...
