very concerned
I have high blood pressure. It is being treated and my numbers have been wonderful. Since I started this diet 3 days ago, it's shot up. Has anyone heard of this? I thought it was suppose to help you lose weight and lower your tryglicerides too.:[/color]confused:

I'm not sure - I guess it depends on why you have high blood pressure in the first place. Of course, I'm no medical professional, so I'm just guessing here.
I have high blood pressure, and over time, Atkins keeps mine in check. I was on a diuretic medication to control my bp, so I think the diuretic qualities of Atkins are what help me. That's why I was saying it may depend on what is causing your high blood pressure and what controls it. I know there are different types of bp meds that work different ways. My best advice would be to keep an eye on it and talk to your doctor as soon as possible if it gets too high. BP is definitely something you need to be careful about! Good luck, take care!
