How much fat?
![]() After 5 days of getting my feet wet by lowering my carb intake on my own, I finally decided to jump in and do Atkins. Today was my 1st day of induction and so far it's going well. I feel satisfied, no cravings and luckily the majority of the "flu" symptoms seemed to have passed during the 5 pre-induction days that I had. My only concern is the amount of fat that I am taking in. How much fat is too little/too much? Today I had 1,724 calories and 108g of fat with 20g of net carbs. Should I aim higher? lower? I am waiting on my book so any advice would be great. I want to make sure that I do this right. |

108 grams would be a "low-fat" day for me!
![]() Seriously, when you get your book, you'll see that you're instructed to follow you appetite and personal tastes when it comes to fat. Sounds like you're doing fine to me. Enjoy the food and follow the book and only make changes if you need to. |

Barry Groves plan calls for 60-70% of your daily calories from fat. Very similar to Atkins, but without an induction phase. Fat is your friend
