How do you deal with a bad day?
I had the day from you know where today. I was so tempted to go off of my plan and instead I grabbed a salad.
What do you do on really tough days to feel balanced again? |

I exercise when I've had a bad day. But then again I exercise when I've had a good day too
The only difference is that when I've had a bad day, exercise makes me feel better. Sorry you're stressed, and congratulations for not going off plan! ![]() |

Be proud you didn't break down & eat something you would have regret & felt even worse on your bad day hoping to morrow is a great day for ya ! |

I use my Atkins emergency kit and follow the steps in it if I really think I'm going to use food as my drug of choice for a bad day.
I have a letter to me I wrote about why i deserve to be the smaller healthier me and not that 300+ pounder I used to be. I also know I got to write myself a new letter about how I deserve to be that 300+ pounder if I want to eat off plan so I don't go there. I know from past journaling what things I can use as my low carb drug of choice and ususally it is exercise cause that will use up the sad mad stress hormones in my body and generate some cool feel good brain chems to help me feel better that will last longer then any high carb food acting like a drug would. Some folk got before and after pics in their kits along with some bottled water and low carb snack foods to help them through hunger times, but a bad day doesn't need snack foods.

Bad days are very difficult for me. I usually want to eat bad stuff or end up with a headache. I try to fight through it or sometimes I will lay down for a little while so it can pass.

Thank you for all of the great replys! I found the movie suggestion funny...I was going to do just that, but the theater burned down the same day!
I have started running in the morning and that is helping a lot. What gets me is all of this on the job stress. Life is just too short to be so stressed over work life. And where I work , alot of this stress is produced by people who love drama. I am so happy that I did not break down and eat a box of choclate. I actually woke up this morning and noticed that I can find my jaw line and my stomach has disappeared ( I am on day 7 of re induction). Woo hooo!!! |

Usually, for me, all it takes is a trip to the bathroom mirror to see how much progress I have made. Otherwise, I do have some progress pictures that I tend to look at from time to time if I feel myself hankering for some off-limit goodies. Or if I just need a pick me up or some reassurance that I'm doing the right thing. It's amazing how much those visual reminders can help.
