2-Week Induction over...afraid to take the plunge...

The last few days I've gone up and down the same 1/2 to 1 lb and can't seem to get past it. I'm really afraid to go on to the next step - OWL.

Is this normal? Should I stay on Induction longer?

I would continue to climb and add foods one at a time. The first time I did Atkins I stayed on induction too long, got bored with my food choices and lost my way. This time I have climbed up and even though I got "stuck" along the way (had weeks where I battled the same couple pounds up and down), I have almost made it to goal. Slow & steady wins the race. I say go for it!!

ETA~ My stats don't tell my whole story. To clarify, I started 8/27/2007 at 180 pounds and am now 143.3. I have been stuck in the high 140's for a few months and just recently changed up my exercise routine to get the scale moving again. HTH

I would stay on Induction if you can tolerate your food choices. You still have a way to go and according to the book you can stay on Induction if you wish.

the answer to your question about staying or moving on is a personel one and if you check the questions in chapter 13 of your DANDR 2002 and truthfully answer them you will know if it is time to move or stay. And if you move fearfully to OWl you can go as slowly as you want climbing. you can add the first rung which is just 5 more net grams of those yummy induction veggies to your plan and then just sit there the rest of the month and see how well youe body reacts to getting more of these micronutriants that should help your metabolism. Once you are confident those 30-40 more cals depending on which of those veggies you are picking didn't destroy your losing days you can add rung 2 fresh daory in 5 net carbs and see how that works for you.

I ask Dr Atkins' folk about theat back in 2002 and they said if you plan to not have the foods on the rungs you plan to skip then yep you can jump that rung but do not go from 1 to 9 and then back to 2 because the higher impact of the upper rungs can cause you trouble staying on plan.
