YES, I'm reinducting today. As you can see from my sig, i'm not new to LC. I joined this board in 2000 when it first appeared, but I've yo-yoed the whole time...as high as 286; as low as 215. Sigh...
![]() I TRIED to reinduct in January. Even started a diary, but it only lasted about 3-4 days. Ugh.Funny how KNOWING about low carb and DOING low carb can be such different animals... ![]() Anyhow, I'm tired of being tired and feeling icky all the time! So, I'll try to check in here at least once a day. I'll post my menu, too, for anyone out there who's looking for induction food ideas. Will start menus tomorrow (after I know for sure what I'm eating!), because yesterday was AWFUL! Thanks for starting this, Jamie!

![]() Tinkerbell - I also deal with emotional eating.. low carb seems to be the only thing that helps that.. as long as I can get through the first couple weeks ! best of luck to you. Hi Penny! Last edited by shrishyk : 05-12-2008 at 10:12 AM. Reason: adding "hellos" |

I'm in!!! WTH is wrong with me?? I KNOW that LC is the way to go for me - I feel so much better when I kick the carbs out, but I just can't seem to last more than a few days on induction before the chips and goldfish crackers start calling me. Doesn't matter if I throw them out or not, I end up buying them again. *sigh*
Anyhow, restarting once again... Off to make some sausage and a couple of scrambled eggs!! Have a great day everyone!! Angie |

I just started back myself. Did LC a couple of years ago and lost almost 30lbs. Then I decided I didn't need it anymore and went back to carbs full blast! Gained everything back. Now I'm back to square one.

Then I came home from work and ate the bad lftovers... So today is Day #1 on re-induction. Will post menu later...not so sure what that will be today. Kathy |

ME TOO!!
Hello everyone!!
here is my past history....i had done a full week of induction as of sunday. that was mothers day, and yes, i felt like i should "treat myself"..... IT IS REALLY NOT WORTH IT!!! you know, we all will eventually be able to have more carbs in our diet, but when one (me) continues to do induction over and over again, im just torchering myself with 20g a day! arrghhh. ![]() i was really happy to have seen this thread when i logged in this morning. TODAY IS DAY ONE. the FINAL DAY ONE, for me!!! lets kick some boot-ay ladies! i really must be held accountable, and will post menus daily. i often abuse the cream cheese/cheese allowance and also can over do it with that good 'ol cream in my coffee!! ![]() BBL!

G'morning, all! Looks like we've picked up more inductioneers along the way. Welcome aboard, everybody!!
![]() Yesterday's food: B -- coffee w/cream & vanilla davinci, quiche (ham, cheese, egg, cream, dry mustard), side of bacon L -- sliced brisket, lettuce, 4 cherry tomatoes, 10 black olives, bacon bits, Ken's zero-carb caesar dressing Snack -- couple bites of brisket D -- more brisket (had TONS leftover from Mother's Day!), homemade coleslaw (red & green cabbage, mayo, sour cream, Tony Chachere's creole seasoning, white vinegar) I always post my food the day AFTER, because that's the only time I'm SURE of what I ate!! Things can change at the last second, so I go with after-the-fact...According to FitDay, that was 20 net carbs, 77% fat, 20% protein, 3% carbs. Yesterday went great. Mostly. No hunger; no sugar cravings. But, man oh man, did I have a headache!! DH had one, too, so part of it might be weather related, but DANG my head was pounding all afternoon & evening! That should go away by Thursday, if all goes well.Ladybugg....what's a "pepperette??" Never heard of that. Just wondering. Have a great day! BBL. |

It's 1 carb for 35g, and 3 sticks is 50g, so I figure its about 1 1/2 carbs for 3 sticks. I pay $5 for 20 of them |

I am so glad you all joined in here. Hi Cathy! I am having a hard time with thoughts and cravings(I think, maybe just my mind focussing on junk food). I am hanging in there so far so good.
I will post my menus at the end of each day or the following mornings depending on how the day goes. I know we (I) can do this. I have done it before. I don't understand why it is so difficult for me. I have been on and off of induction so many times in the last 6 months that I cannot even begin to count. I have gained back 26 pounds of the original 100 I lost. I am back up over 200 pounds and very depressed and down on myself over it. I bought a bunch of new clothes last month when i was in the 180's and now I cannot even wear them. I have put over 25 pound back on in less than 1 month. So does anyone have any secrets they want to share? I am struggling big time with this and if I keep going the way I am I am going to be back up to 289 pounds in no time. I will fight through this day if it kills me.

I don't have any secrets Jamie...but seems to me, once I go off, it is that much easier to keep doing it! I was "clean" for 3 months and then BAM...went off and may have a good day now and then, but it doesn't last. I know I do better when I am challenged, so that's why this is so good. My problem is when I get home...now tonight should be OK cause I have a couple hours of mowing to do and some more planting. But last night...let's not even go there!

no secrets here either.. your story sounds just like mine Jamie..
it is all pure will power at this point. (for me) I am just focusing on today... not tomorrow or yesterday.. but today.. and I don't know if it will work for you, but it seems to be a little motivating for me.. I've printed a calendar for the next year and am marking the "special" occasion days.. like my husband's company party, picnics, family get togethers. Normally I would avoid these situations. For example, the last few years I have cringed at the thought of having to buy an evening dress for my husband's holiday party. I don't want to go through that again.. so if I can see it on a calendar every day and see the time frame I have to work with, it is more believable to me that I can get some weight off before then, and I'll be feeling better. And I won't "wake up" the week before the party and say the same things to myself I say every year... the coulda, shoulda woulda's... My 10 year wedding anniversary is a year from now.. so I am imagining what I could do in that time. I am going to be 40 in a year.. those types of things I force myself to think about when I'm reaching for the Cheerios and sugar! hang in there.. and just get through today.. ![]() to everyone!!

Just a lurker popping in. The calendar suggestion reminded me of something Jerry Seinfeld said he does. He marks an x on the calendar every day he works on his routine. I think that idea could also go to days when you stay on plan and/or you could use it for exercise too. At, first it doesn't seem like much, but when you have 30 days of Xs it might make you think twice before you cheat. And it could be almost like a challenge to see how many days in a row you can go without cheating. Just a thought.
Back to lurking. ![]()
