Jamie....how are you today? I thought about you this morning on the way to work. Just wonderin' how you're doing/feeling. I hope things are falling into place for you. You're always there to support others on the boards. Remember that you can lean on us anytime, too.

I feel SOOOOOOO much better today—just like I knew I would! There's just something about getting to Day 4. Headache is GONE, and I’m already down SIX pounds (I know, I wasn’t supposed to peek before a week but couldn’t help myself). I've got a LONG way to go, though, so it's not like I'll be at goal by Memorial Day. But this is good motivation to stick with it. Gotta LOVE low carb!!!

Yesterday’s food:
B – coffee w/cream & davinci, quiche (ham, cheese, egg, cream, dry mustard), side of bacon
L – 2 hamburger patties, mayo, Dijon, 2 tomato slices, dill pickles
D – salad w/mushrooms, bacon bits, black olives, diced ham, 6 pepperonis, ranch dressing

According to FitDay: 21 net carbs, 79% fat, 17% protein, 4% carbs

That 21 net carbs includes 2 carbs for my morning coffee (BEFORE I add the cream, which I also count), so I tend to use that 2 carbs as "flex" carbs of sorts--don't take them too seriously, but I DO count them in every day.

Just wondering--what do you all do about COFFEE or TEA and the carbs it might contain?? Do you count 'em? Forget about 'em? Or what? I've seen LOTS of opinions here over the years. Just wondered what this crew thinks...I've pretty much decided that it makes me too unhappy to think about giving up my morning coffee. So by counting the carbs, I still get to have it. It's not completely a FREE food, BUT with only 20 carbs/day on induction, it's something of a sacrifice--at least during induction. Opinions????

Carmen, I just wanted to say that I'm doing exactly the same thing--10 pounds at a time. I have about 100 to lose, but for now, I'm just shooting for the first 50. Glad you're here!!

Have a great day, all!! See you later!
Hello!!!
Thanks for the welcome. I enjoy have the support i have been getting here.
I am glad you are feeling better. I went through the same thing, not fun.
Oh, sorry i can't help you with the coffee thing. I do not drink either.

I did the same. It was easy buying them, but not that easy to want to use them. I'm trying though

So far so good today! I just might be able to mark this as an official day 1 of induction.

I have not had the "best" menu but I am doing pretty good. I had italian sausage for breakfast and bacon for lunch and I am broiling broccoli right now for a snack. Dinner I am not sure about yet.

Tomorrow I will be back to my egg cream for breakfast schedule and tomorrow night is a complete dinner salad night. i am going to my friends house with some other girlfriends for a "sleepover". We do this every few months or so. It is fun. reminds me of my younger years. So we agreed we would "do" salad for dinner with chicken and steak. YUMMO!!!

I' m going to make an apple cider vinegar and oil dressing.

Thnak you for ALL the kind words and support of this thread. You all are doing great and have inspired me and help to motivate me as well.

THANKS!!!!!!!

I use Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar with "mother" in it (the natural good stuff)(Google it when you have a chance..very good info) and EVOO and some seasonings to taste. I really do not have a recipe. I just kinds add it together and shake. Sorry .

Yeah, our "sleepovers" are fun. We stay up all night and laugh and giggle like little girls and play cards and watch movies . It is a great stress reliever and gives me and one other girl a break from the kids.

Whew, Day 3 down (except I did have a 3 glasses of wine, but I was quite low in carbs all day, so hopefully no damage done).

Plan for today:
B: 3 sl. bacon, 2 eggs, 1 sl. cheese on Oopsie
L: cheeseburger on oopsie, lettuce and tomato w/ ranch dressing
D: tuna salad, tossed salad w/ ranch dressing

E: 20 min. elliptical
W: 64+ oz.

Got a jar of expellar pressed coconut oil yesterday - looking forward to cooking my eggs in it this morning. Used some on the stovetop grill last night when I cooked my burgers - no coconut taste at all.

Good Morning!!!
Another big orange X on my calender YEAH!! I think this will be very motivating for me Ok so you want my pumkin muffins - here it is. I didn't come up wiht this by the way....

Pumpkin bake or muffins
8 oz cream cheese, softened
5 eggs
1/2 c Splenda
large can of pumpkin (15 ounces ish )
1/2 Tb pumpkin pie spice
1 t. cinnamon

Combine all ingredients. Puor batter into a glass baking dish that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Bake in a 350 oven until center is done - it will looked "puffed" but will shrink down as it cools. Makes 4 large servings w/ approx. 6 carbs per serving.

can also be put into individual muffin cups.

I only do the muffins as I can eat them on the go I love these. they are probably my weakness so I try to limit them but when I don't have anything else to satisfy they are my go-to item. Note: I put paper cups in the muffin tins or I cook them in a silicone pan as they do stick and can fall apart when being removed. Hope that helps.

I can't seem to accomplish the oopsie rolls. I did see my error and will be retrying them.. Cooking is not my speciality.

here's my menu for today

B Currently enjoying an egg cream
L chicken salad wrap (wrapped in a piece of swiss cheese) and broccoli and cheese
S if i get a chance i may make some deviled eggs so that may be my snack
D not sure but it wiill be a meat and some veggie
S sf jello and hwc

i will update this later

also Monika what's the chicken muffin you had for lunch yesterday??
thanks

make it a great day!

So, back at it today!!!

Hi and good morning to everyone. You all are doing great. I guess I just have to adopt the motto "slow and steady wins the race" for now. I just need to get the "steady" part down.

kathy, thanks for the encouragment. sorry to hear about your headaches, etc. i usually dont start feeling nasty until day five....lets see, that would be tomorrow!! oh goodie!!

thanks to cathy for posting the yummy recipes. variety is key for me, as i have found in this WOE.

Joshsmom, i was excited to read about your experience with the coconut oil. i have been wanting to get my hands on a bottle, but am unsure what to do wih it!!

Here is my latest issue. at the beginning of the week, i found that i would go over my allowance for cream cheese, and eat the whole brick. so, i froze a few servings and seem to be doing fine with it now. now, i am trying to overcome wanting to eat a whole dish of heavy whipped cream!! its my sweet tooth--and when i have a stressfull day with the kids, in the evening i want to relax and eat an entire bowl of whipped cream??!

okay, so i didnt eat the ENTIRE BOWL. but, i am sure i ate a little too much then what was needed! apparently, i am an emotional eater!!!! eating large quantities like that isnt healthy, i know that.

mantra for the day, I WILL HAVE SELF CONTROL OVER PROTIONS...I WILL...I WILL!

more later, have a good day!

Vivian - Look for Land 'o' Lakes sf real whipped cream in the can. It is 0 carbs! I think I found it at Wal-Mart. I add it to sf root beer for a treat and it is very filling!
