So, officially tomorrow 5/14 I am starting very strict induction, the RIGHT WAY this time.

Hiya Jamie.
I was there when we both started over in Jan and here I am back also, so dont feel bad. My weight is back over 200 and I feel like @#$%. Today is a new beginning.
I been having a cooking marathon today. Made tuna and chicken muffins, oopsie rolls, stuffed jalapenos and mushrooms, stew in crockpot for tonight and ham & cheese quiche for breakfast. I also made up herb oil & vinegar dressing, ranch dressing and thousand island dressing( w/1 carb ketsup) . I cut up block cheese into 1 oz pieces( cheaper than already cut ) and chop onions and herbs and such all at once so only have to do it once a week and have LC snacks ready to go.
My scale is always sitting out in the kitchen and a pad and pencil to keep track. I want to do it right like last time. I do need help and will help u too, hubby sometimes waylays me.
My food for today:

B: 3 slices Bacon
black coffee
1 slice ham & cheese quiche

L: tuna patty w/tartar sauce
2 stuffed mushrooms
large ice tea

D: stew w/garden fresh summer squash
lettuce salad w/o&v dressing and some avocado and green onions.

S: will be peach sf Jello w/ whipped cream

and lots of water( got to pee again lol )
I hope that helps Jamie. Just stay here and lets do this.

Monika,
You are awesome! All that prep! Your menu looks great. I have been here since January as well... Where did you find the recipe for tuna muffins? Those sound great and a good lunch idea for work.

hello everyone

hi,
I'm new to this website and very happy that i found this thread. I was at a previous website, but this site seems to have a larger support group.(which is what i need) I tried induction last week, but i am pretty positive i blew it. So, I'm at it again. Today is my second day. I am really going to try hard to stick to the diet this time. I am happy to say that since last week i have not been craving bread or noddles anymore. These two foods were the majority of my daily diet. I just hope that i get the results that most people get. I think i need to eat more veggies everyday. Does anyone know what the veggies do for the diet exactly?

January? September? Try the year 2000!!! THAT's how long I've been here and now find myself back to within 10 pounds of square one!! So don't fret over a few lost months, my dears. Things could be MUCH MUCH worse! At least you're HERE and giving it another shot. I gave up so many times it wasn't even funny and am now crawling back on the wagon. And there's nothing to laugh about now...

Welcome aboard ollamo, rodcat, kathy, pickles, joey and others I may have missed! We're glad you're here!

Yesterday's menu:

B - coffee w/cream & davinci, ham & cheese quiche, 3 strips bacon
L - brisket, homemade coleslaw
D - brisket (froze the rest...cannot face it another meal!!)

FitDay totals: 14 net carbs (will eat more today!); 74% fat/23% protein/2% carbs

It was a weird, crazy day for me. DH was out of town on business, so I ran myself ragged schlepping kids around, buying graduation/baby/wedding gifts, etc. I MEANT to eat more at dinner, but I was just TIRED--and NOT hungry--plus had to help DD2 with a huge science project. So I ate on the fly. At least it wasn't a burger & fries!

Hope ALL of you have a great day today!! I'll be back!

So our size is very similar. I went on Atkins years ago and lost 25lbs fairly quickly, and then didn't stick to the low carb way of eating and gained it all back. I started on 4/28, but later found out that I was eating things I shouldn't have been. (Unsweetened soy milk (1 net carb); Half n Half in my coffee in the am, was eating the Atkins Bars, etc.). So I started induction over AGAIN this week. Week one I lost 6lbs; but when I weighed in for week 2 - I had lost nothing. I weighed again this morning and I am down 1.5 lbs since monday!!! Yippeee.

I'm wondering if I should try doing it my own way, as long as I stay under the 20 carbs per day. I may start incorporationg maximum of 1 cup of unsweetened soy milk per day. I use this to mix my flax seed meal and psyllium husk daily (gotta keep up that fiber!). So I'm starved without my soy milk. I have been using a lot of the Coconut Oil which has helped to reduce my appetite.

So how has your progress been so far? I have to have my mentality set to "WOE" (way of eating) rather than "Diet" - so I will STAY WITH IT this time. I've been following www.sugarfreesheila.com - she truly is an inspiration (as well of lots of others you will meet here). She is similar to our size, and has kept it off for 7 years!! Way to go Sheila!! I disected her FAQ portion of her website; and even sent her some e-mails with questions and she promptly responded. Her website has a WEALTH of information that helped start me down the right path.

p.s. I went to the doctor last month and doc tried to tell me I was 5 feet 2 and 1/4. I said HECK NO!! I didn't SHRINK! So hopefully I am still 5 feet 2 and 1/2 inches tall.

If you are indeed doing Atkins induction then pick which version of it and get the book and read it all the way through. Then start induction. This will be a tremendous help to you and will answer all of your questions you may have about induction. The vegies are full of fiber and nutritional value based on which vegies you eat and no fat.

Everyone is different and will get different results. It is not a fast or slow thing. If you look at that way then it will be dreadful for you. Get the book and read it. You really need all the info to be successful at this. If you have the book you will have all the answers you need and then you can determine if you are doing it right or wrong. Good luck.

I last week(when i messed up by overeating cheese) I thought i had lost two pounds. The scale at the gym said i did. But, I am pretty sure it was off. My clothes didn't feel any looser lol. I think i need to stop stressing over it and just let it happen.

Very awesome that you had results already. Thats is really good progress. I;m proud of you!! I'm pretty happy that i found someone the similar measurements. I will keep you up on the progress.

Thanks for the website. I am def going check it out as soon as i finish typing this. Keep me up on your results and good luck.

Yay!! Made it through Day 2 of Induction!!

Menu Yesterday:
B: 2T Peanut butter on a spoon while running around getting ready for work
L: ham & cheese quesadilla on a Tam-X-ico LC tortilla (5 net carbs) w/ a little salsa
S: 2T peanuts
D: 1/2 rotisserie chicken breast, cauliflower w/ cheese, spinach w/ olive oil & garlic

E: 45 minute brisk walk
W: 64 oz

Planned menu for today:
B: 3 strips bacon, 2 scrambled eggs, coffee
L: chicken salad (made w/ leftover chicken, mayo, a touch of shredded onion and about 1/2 celery stalk minced), dill pickle spear
D: cheeseburger on oopsie roll (hopefully, today will be my first try at making them), salad w/ bleu cheese dressing

E: 45 minute walk
W: 64 oz +

The scales haven't shown any real weight loss yet, but that's okay - I already feel better and my clothes are loosening up, so I know I'm going in the right direction whether the cursed scales say so or not!!

No apologies needed.I have just found that with experience and being on these boards that the "book" is the key!!! I also know first hand that if you do not do it by the book then the results will not be what you want. It makes it easier to track progress and to track what is or is not working for you. I have never been one to "tweak" my Atkins. IT's not "Atkins" then. Know what I mean???

Induction is "Atkins" and if it is not done the way the book says to do it then it is not Atkin's induction. I am not saying that you cannot "tweak" what you would like .Everyone can do whatever they feel works for them. All I am saying is that if it's "tweaked" then it really is not Atkins. I can only help yall out if it is done the Atkin's way. that is all I know. I only know the induction rules by the book and the Atkin's diet by the book.

I think you will get the best results this way OLLAMO!!!

Please ask questions. I may not always have the answers and I may refer you back tot he book, but I will help in any way that I can!
