Hi all- I did not start again on Monday, but the middle of last week- thought I would jump in anyway. (Funny how a real wake-up call will make you start "today" intead of "Monday"
) Anyway- I am feeling flu-ish and nauseous, so I guess all is going well. I am excited to be back on low-carb- I honestly don't know why I ever went off of it- other than the "flu" symptoms, I already have more energy and haven't wanted a nap in several days. I have been reading menus and getting some daily inspiration, so I thought I should say "hello!"

Good morning ladies, I would love to join you all. I rededicated my life to LC this week. So far I've done pretty well. I haven't cheated... which is what I've been doing the past few months. Previously, I would start induction, then would fall off the wagon. I then realized that i was only cheating myself!!! So I am at a point where I'm commited to holiding myself accountable for my eating. Thanks for all your posts, as they are very helpful.

Well, I am still doing well on induction. I like to read what others are eating on a daily basis (helps me incorporate meals I may not be thinking of myself).
So here is what I ate yesterday: B - 2 scrambled eggs with 1 oz cheese. 3 slices of bacon. Coffee w/splenda and heavy cream. Diet soda (1/2 serving) . L - Chef salad w/ranch dressing. Diet soda (other 1/2) S - Chicken thigh D - Steak and edamame. Coffee w/splenda and heavy cream. Today: B - Omlette w/veggies, sheddar cheese and ham. (YUM). 1/2 serving of diet soda. Coffee w/heavy cream and splenda. I am TRYING not to weigh in daily. I will see how long I go before I jump on it and see what's going on ![]() GOOD LUCK ALL. HAVE A GREAT INDUCTION FRIENDLY DAY! AND KUTGW

Hi I am new here and need some friends. Can I join? I am on day five of the induction. Still feeling pretty tired and sluggish. The headaches are relentless. I keep reading that it will get better. I hope so. I did the low carb thing a few years ago but never did induction. I lost about 30 pounds. Now 70 pounds later(heavier) I am trying to do this the right way. Hopefully I can stick with it.

I have done Atkins about 3-4 different times and then on again off again for years so induction is not to bad for me this round. BUT, I remember my first couple of inductions and I was miserable. Just fight through it and it WILL pass. I had a headache for a week, no energy, and just felt blah. It does get better. I promise you. Once you get past this and find that you have so much more energy and just feel "better" all around you will look back on this and say "it was worth it". Hang in there. I know what you are going through. Drink plenty of water and get in your 20 carbs a day. ![]()

Hi, still doing Induction. I'm "trying" to do 3 days w/o salad, so today is my last day for that particular goal. Otherwise, doing good. I know tomorrow will be more difficult for me - after day 3 I start getting very hungry. so the plan tonight is that I will make some hard boiled eggs and have those for a snack.
Patti - Edamame? It seems like that might be a starchy veggie? |

I wouldn't say STARCHY at all but I will be honest, I do not think they are induction friendly per se. HOWEVER, that's all I had in the house. I should have eaten the steak alone but opted against it. I know me and I would rather have the 5 carbs from the approximately 20 edamame beans (shelled) than sneak in something that is worse due to cravings, later in the evening. Catch my drift

Thanks Dolphins I hope I can stick with this I am really literally tired of carrying all this extra weight around. Hopefully if I keep coming to this website I will get enough support to keep me motivated. My husband is doing this with me but he has maybe 10 or 15 pounds to lose. I am trying to lose a hundred so my journey will be a lot longer and a lot more difficult than his. I dont think I will have him as a partner for long. I cant get him to understand the difference between a lifestyle change and a diet. He is on a diet and I am trying to change my life. However, he is very supportive and I am lucky to have him. Tomorrow I will post my menu so I can get some pointers from everyone.

Well, I weighed *hangs head in shame* I can not be freed from the dumb scale
![]() I am down 1.5lbs. Not shabby. I will take it! Especially since I am PMSing Let's see, last night I made Linda Sue's Asian Fried "Rice" (THANK YOU LINDA SUE FOR YOUR WONDER RECIPES!!!!! ) and may I say it was DELICIOUS!!!! I have never tried this one and boy what a mistake!!! It will now become a staple in my diet ![]() This morning I had 2 eggs with cheese. 2 slices of bacon. Coffee w/heavy cream and splenda. Lunch is left over "rice". Dinner is undecided yet. I was wondering if you all would like to have an "official" weigh in? What do you guys think? Also, one more question to all, are you doing induction only for the 2 weeks and moving up the ladder or are you staying on induction longer? I plan on staying within the limits of induction for a while. From time to time I will increase the carbs by increasing the veggies but for the most part, I think I will stay here... |

Great job on your weight loss!!!
I plan on staying at induction laevel for a while longer. i may add in other foods like nuts and more vegies. But I will try to stay as close to 20 grams as I can. I personally weigh in everyday. I just cannot help myself. I will only "log" it once a week and for me that is Mondays. |

Good morning! Soooo not hungry today, but I will force myself to eat in a while. I, too, am shackled to the scale and can't resist it- but I am down 7 lbs as of this morning. It is motivating to see that! I am going to try to avoid it until Monday.
I think for lunch I am going to make some chicken salad- with dill pickle, mayo, egg etc. I had a bad experince with an egg yesterday, so I am kind of off of them right now. ![]() For dinner- I am craving some of the low carb zuppa toscana withh kale and sausage, so I guess I have to get out of the house and go to the store! Have a great day! |

I will weigh in once a week. I guess I should buy a scale lol. I have a question. How many of you are doing this with kids and those of you who are, how do you do it?
Is this diet healthy for children? Do I just start making two separate meals? That is what I have been trying to do but thats a pain. |

Thanks! For the soup, I am just using a recipe from another thread. Here it is:Low Carb Turkey Zuppa Tuscano Soup 1 lb. Italian turkey sausage, mild 1 medium diced onion 2 teaspoons minced garlic ½ cup chicken broth 3 cups water 6 cups of kale leaves (pulled off the stems) 8 oz. cauliflower (steamed) ½ cup heavy cream Dash of Salt and red pepper flakes to taste Crumble sausage in pot with diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until sausage is brown and done. Put chicken broth, water, cauliflower, kale, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes in a pot and simmer for 30 minutes (or until you think it’s finished). After simmer time, add the heavy cream and simmer for another 10 minutes, or until everything is nice and hot. The thread is here Lo carb Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana? and there are some variations that look good. I don't care for the strong smokey bacon taste on top of the sausage so I prefer to leave it out. I'll let you know how it goes! |
