yeah, I tried out a new 4 mile DVD today. It was definitely harder than the 3 mile one. I don't see myself doing it but maybe once or twice per week. The 3 mile one, though, I love- I can do it everyday!

I need to start walking further on the treadmill too. A mile or two everyday isn't cutting it. My blood pressure was really high at the doctor's office today. i'm not sure what causes high blood pressure. The doctor didn't say anything about it, but the nurse asked me if I was nervous after she took my blood pressure.

a LOT of things can cause high BP. It's obviously not chronic, or they would have mentioned it. But do you go to any grocery stores that have those little BP machines?

Well, I have one at home, and I just did it and it was normal. So maybe the nurse was right. Maybe I was nervous. I mean, I WAS scared that they were going to weigh me....which they didn't. Thank goodness. lol

I'm gonna keep monitoring it everyday though just to make sure.

I was so scared that the doc was gonna come in and tell me that I'm a fat cow and I need to lose weight cause my BP is high.

Not likely. You're not even obese anymore. Plus, maybe the nurse was stoopid and didn't take it right!

So I went yesterday to change the address on my drivers license (only 2 and a half years late! SShhhh) and they INSISTED on taking another picture. Cause of course my hair was in "finger in a light socket" mode, and I didn't really waste much time reapplyng makeup before leaving the house. Other than that, though, I was pleasantly surprised to see a difference in my face! My last license pic was taken in the summer of 2005, and I was such a cow then. I never weighed myself, but looking back at pictures, I weighed probably 250. I could still see that I wanted my face to be slimmer, but in this new pic, I only have one chin!!

Oh you lucky duck!!!!!! I soooooo want to retake my pic but they only do it like every 8 years here. My driver license pic is seriously disgusting. I look like I swallowed a bunch of fat kids.

Yay for one chin!!!!

My pics now are at the point where I have only one chin from the front, but if someone snaps a pic of my face from the side...WHOA! Not pretty.

I bought some almond crusted tilapia and some grilled mixed vegetables that look soooooo good. I can't wait until dinner!

Almond crusted tilapia!! Yum, that sounds good. Wonder if I could get something similar with tilapia and almond flour????

Honestly, I think she retook my pic cause either the last one was SOOOOO awful (long story behnd it) and she felt sorry for me , or else I just looked different now and she wanted to get an accurate pic.

candles-my DH quit on fathers day last year. He smoked for 17 years. i nagged. i begged. i pleaded. i even had the kids giving him a hard time about it. nothing seemed to work............but then all of a sudden he told me that his fathers day gift to his self was to quit . i about died!!! he did have the doctor prescribe him something and thank the lord it worked. i think sometimes that they just need to have that one moment when they do it for themselves and not all of us.. i hope your DH has one of those moments, too.

gotta love those pictures. even if you never put make-up on or ever get to do your hair-the one time you do it would be for those pictures. i never have my hair done at the right time or even a stitch of make-up when i really need it.
especially when you run into an old flame at the grocery store. or better yet his beautiful super skinny wife. thats when you try and duck and cover.

I can't believe it's almost 3pm and I haven't checked in yet! I had meetings this morning until noon and had so much to do at work!

Menu:
B: cheese stick; coffee with cream and splenda
L: hamburger concoction (it's SO good)
D: salad with grilled chicken and ceasar
water

Ok, I'm such an excuse inventor but seriously, it's HARD AS HELL to work a full time job, take care of the kids, and WORK OUT every day. Then manage to cook for everyone, clean up, etc. WhatEver. I'm seriously trying to get my workouts in you guys. I am not going to be able to do the workout everyday for 17 days thing. I am really just going to have to keep my goal to 12 miles per week - that is totally doable for me. You guys talk about me being able to stay OP but you guys are ROCKING with working out! I'm so proud of you Riot!!! You're doing awesome!! All of you others are doing great too! I'm so jealous! Anyway, I'll keep at it and work on the 12 miles per week. I just need to create a goal that I can actually reach. I keep making goals and not meeting them, which bums me out!

My son graduates from kindergarten tonight and he is SO excited ! I may be back later to check in!!

Um... TELL me about it!! I totally took being a SAHM for granted. I've mentioned my recent financial probs, and the short story goes like this: I'm watching kids at home now, and have been for about a month. Dude, I'm watching kids a minimum of 10 hours a day, then in the evenings trying to get everything done that I used to do in the daytime- cleaning, errands, etc. Then there's dinner, baths, homework, etc etc. I'm struggling to find time to get the walking in. Today I took advantage of naptime and did the 4 mile dvd. It's rare that they all sleep, though. It is WAY hard, Belle. I don't think you're making excuses, that's just the truth of how it is being a working mom.
TESTIFY!!

Belle - don't be so hard on yourself!! It is really hard to work full time and take care of your family!!! That was the reason I started working nights when my kids were small. I spent less time commuting that way. You're doing so great on the weight loss KUTGW!!!! Just exercise when you can and don't stress about it. Any exercise is good exercise.

Hey gang,

1. Went to the movie, DIDN'T eat!!!

2. Had lettuce-wrapped sammich after the movie!

3. Nothing else to eat so far today! Miracle!

Not exercising tonight -- soooooo sore from the manual labor yesterday. Will start packing for my camping weekend, and cooking a roast for lunch/dinner tomorrow.

D: Rotisserie chicken, steamed veggie of some sort, or salad

Need to check through all the posts today!

Riot, thanks. I seem to do so well for a little bit, then KABOOM... do something stupid.

I'm worried about this weekend -- camping with a bunch of people that don't have a clue about what I can and can't eat. I can bring some things from home, but am a bit limited since I'm not doing the cooking or even the planning. AND at least one of the people going is Vegan, so pretty much the exact opposite menu.

I *may* bring my own cast iron frying pan and a few eggs, just in case. How to keep them cold, though? A cooler won't last 3 days. Any ideas?

Jerkey, cheese chips, sunflower seeds. Would 1 min muffins keep without being cold?
