I just made a pitcher of iced tea. I don't think it's a gallon pitcher, it's the one that is like half the size. I don't like keep the gallon pitchers in my fridge cause they take up too much room.

I'm so sleepy.

I have a friend that does weight watchers and they are allowed to count coffee and tea as part of their water intake, ounce for ounce, so I think you're fine

But in-home, if YOUR income is at or below a certain level (I think maybe like 150 or 185 % of poverty guidelines), then you get the highest tier of payment for all children enrolled. UN-fortunately, the federal poverty guidelines are ridiculous, and are so low that people with 2 incomes (you and DH f he has income) probably make too much.
Not sure what CACFP? From what I've heard I will be getting a % back for the amount I spend per child each month. She wouldn't explain over the phone. Any amount back will help!!

i sure as hell have not. i'm going to try really hard today. i swear i hate water!!!!!
I drink about 80 ounces per day. I always try to get more in but I never seem to be able to. I make sure that I drink 30 ounces before I get to work, that way, I'm more than a third of the way there! I also count my 14 ounces of coffee for my daily intake. I know lots of people that use the crystal light thingys - I think Riot is, or at least used to be, one of them.

No. I have days where I think "I HAVE to cheat today....I need some pizza...or chocolate...or pasta."

But even when I go off plan I know it's only a temporary thing. I know I'll always go back to the LC WOE. I just feel better when I'm low carbing.

It's a mind set Jeep. If you let yourself feel like you're being deprived, you're doomed to fail. You can do this. I have faith in you!

yes, jeep, i sure have. Like the last month to 2 months when that damn scale just wouldn't move from 234 even though my eating was in check and no cheating. When i was doing good exersizing and the damn scale still wouldn't budge! But i just kept thinking in the back of my head, i'm doing this for me, my health and for the fact that i don't wanna be fat anymore! I wanna bike and play w/my kids instead of lay on the couch and miss a few more years of their lives or building stronger bonds with them. Make a list or just think about why you are doing this, and remember, this isn't forever, induction/really low carb is only for a while. Hope your feeling better soon! I gotta run, son should be here in moments to head out for his permit test. Will check in tonight!

I guess it's more that I'm feeling down and discouraged. I know how/when/why my emotional eating issues started, and at some point need to find someone to discuss and try to resolve. I'm crunching on sunflower seeds right now, not because I'm hungry, but because I'm stressed and "need" the crunch/chew/crunch. Next step would be me trotting off to the vending machine… (and it doesn't have any LC friendly products). Is overeating LC food any better of a coping mechanism than overeating other junk??? I don't know. Yes and no?

I enjoy low carb, 99% of the time. There are very few things I truly "miss" -- and even those, as with all, in moderation are okay. As Riot said, back on the wagon and it's just a blip. I can't let myself get lost in the "well, I've already cheated, so might as well go hog wild" mentality.

I'm tired of feeling fat and frumpy. I want to wear cute clothes again. I hate that the picture in my head doesn't match what shows when someone takes a picture (I never look in the mirror from the face down!). I hate being the pudgy one in my group at work.

One year ago next month, someone took an awful picture of me from the side, holding a bowling ball. My group is going bowling again next month, and I'd give anything for a better picture. I *know* I've made progress, but I still want to cry.

4 weeks ago, I couldn't jog 5 minutes straight. Now I can. Okay, I want to die, but I can do it.
3 months ago, I had to take 2 blood pressure meds. I'm now down to one.
6 months ago, I took 2 antidepressants. Now just one, and decreasing dosage.
In January, my arms couldn't hang straight down my sides without touching my hips.
A year ago, I couldn't use the regular bathroom stalls because there was no room for me to, well, you know how it is when the stall's too small.

Snix, I know what you mean about being able to do fun stuff with my kids. I don't want to be their "fat" mom. I want to be a good example of how to eat sensibly and exercise, not sit in front of the tube all day.

Thanks for "listening" everyone. I am just having a hard afternoon. Our finances are a mess, there's lots of stuff going on at work, and I just want to bury myself in a bunch of junk food.

Jeep, I'm sure we're all emotional eaters. That's how we got fat in the first place. So we all understand how you're feeling now.

Just keep reminding yourself of all the things you want like wearing cute clothes and not being ashamed of your body anymore. And the next time you feel like quitting or munching on food for comfort, remind yourself that the comfort only lasts a few minutes and then you're actually further away from your goals.

It's not easy, that's for sure. If it was easy we'd all be thin by now. But we're not quitters, right? We're totally going to get to goal together.

Jeep, your making me sad! I need to stop griping and give you

How long have you been on Atkin's? how much did you lose and how fast. I can read your stats, but what I'm curious about is how easy it was initially?

Beach, this time it's been a total struggle. Every time I'm down 5 lbs, I regain 3, then lose, then go up. I haven't had a consistent loss, but that's my own fault. Every time I do well, I sabotage myself. I have been struggling to get below 214 for weeks. *sigh*

Jeep- I understand how you feel, believe me. I nearly went bankrupt a month ago. Literally, almost had to file bankruptcy. DH and I have had it out over and over since then, mostly over finances. We're still on the verge of calling it quits. But it's totally a mindset. If you get in that "I can't/ don't wanna/ do this anymore", you wont. You only fail yourself by thinking negatively. Keep your chin up and just stay focused on the long term prize.

Congrats on the exercise, Riot!

I did my program. Stupid iPod or new shoes or sensor -- something screwed up and it said I only did a mile. Not! I did at least 2.

Riot, yeah I am in the same boat. Losing our house. Probably filing bankruptcy. Trying desperately to sell house to salvage anything but bank won't take short sale. Just found out DH's van needs $1300 worth of work.

No stress here.
