So I was thinking of course of doing the 1 mile!!! The power mile just says it's basically a 20 minute run time, and 1 mile distance.
I have 2 walk away the pounds dvd's. I'll give you the description of the ones I have from the back of the dvd and also give you my feedback from each of the ones I've tried.

First DVD I started with until the other day: 5 day fit walk and there are 5 exercises to choose from:

1. get up and get started (1 mile walk in 18 minutes where they show you the moves they use, etc - I did this one my first time and haven't done it since)
2. high calorie burn (2 mile walk in 30 minutes - I've never done this one)
3. 30 minute walk (this is the one that I did the most and it's 2 miles - you don't use weights)
4. walk and kick (2 mile walk in 30 minutes - I've never done this one)
5. the power mile (1 mile in 20 minutes - I did this one a few times and they use weights)

Then over the weekend I bought the 3 mile weight loss walk. I did it for the second time tonight and it was killer. It was hard the first time but since I was trying to keep up and change with the moves, etc I probably didn't do it with as much intensity as I did tonight. I looked at my dvd player this time at the end of the workout and it was 47 minutes with warm up and cool down and is obviously 3 miles. On the dvd menu it allows you to go to the first, second, or third mile. The first mile focuses on warming up and you use the weights a little bit (I don't have the weights yet so I just used my fat arms as weights lol), the second mile is the fastest but also the hardest (you don't use weights but I don't think my legs have ever moved that fast before), the third mile you use the weights some more and your pace slows down (you will also do cool down during this mile). You are able to switch between the miles if you want which is a really cool feature. I haven't used it yet since I've only done it a couple times. I plan to hopefully work up to doing the 3rd mile again to make it a 4 mile walk but I probably won't try that for several weeks. If you decide to use weights she suggests either 1 or 2 pound weights per hand and if you are an experienced walker then you can use 3 pound weights per hand but no more than that.

Hopefully you will like one of the videos you chose. I like these as much as I could like any exercise. They are quick and seem to get the job done!

jeep - I picked up some cheese sticks tonight! That was a great idea - I used to love them and don't know why I didn't think of those. I will have to be careful though - too much cheese tends to stall me.

I think tomorrow I will have a bigger breakfast and do the shakes every other day till they're gone and make sure I have a snack packed for mid morning.

Riot - I think it's a great idea to add the cheat free signature back. I remember how much I hated starting over in March - it made it almost not worth the cheating! You did really well last time you were recording it!

yes - that's what the dvd cover says: walk away the pounds 5 day fit walk - The indoor walking system - 5 workouts on 1 dvd.

It says it was made in 2006

That one sounds good! Versatile, and easy to change it up to kep from getting bored. How come you bought a new one, was it just you needed something longer?

Well cause I kept complaining about never being able to catch up on my miles. You suggested that I do 3 miles per day a few days per week. I thought it was a good idea, plus, I've been doing the 2 mile walk since December and thought that I was ready to step it up a bit in terms of the length of my workout. I have a lot to make up for since I've hardly worked out for more than 2 weeks!!

It really was harder this time but it felt SOOOOO good while I was doing it and after!

OK, humor me here, cause you know I have blonde moments. Technically, couldn't you have done like 2 of the ones on the five day dvd to equal 3 miles? Like the get up and go, then the high calorie burn? does it work like that? Could I do that with the 5 day dvd in one sitting?

Well, for me that's harder. Because she incorporates cool down in all of the different walks it would be much more difficult for me to warm up, walk, cool down and then do the whole thing all over again. Once I cool down I just want to stop lol! But with the 3 mile one, I could do the last mile again because it's at a slower pace and you finish the 3 miles before cooling all the way down (at least I think I could - we'll see).

Also, I'm just much more likely to do 3 miles if it's done all together. Otherwise, I'd convince myself that I'm too tired to do another video, etc. I know, I'm really weird.

Good Day Today!

I really did good today. I got up early had a little coffee. I have noticed that I am not drinking as much coffee as I used to. I am a big coffee drinker. Anyway, had brunch of a beef and green pepper wrap with a little cheese on a misson lc wrap. Dinner fried lc wrap with ground beef, cheese, letuce and sour cream.

Doing good on the water too. I think its because its getting hot out here now and cant seem to get enough.

Worked outside most of the day, just getting the yard done. I think Im going to make a stand for my bike so that I can ride inside when it gets into the
100's

I hope everyone had a great day.

I know, awesome right? They have a treadmill at my curves so I started doing my miles while I'm at curves because it's easier for me to stay on the treadmill when I'm there. I have no idea why, but it is.

I'm starving now though. I gotta get up and make breakfast soon but I'm waiting to catch my second wind.

nope, no more park. It was MUCH easier to get my miles in at the park since I was able to do 4 miles a day, but I can't do the park AND curves because I don't have enough energy to do both. And I feel more toned since I've joined curves so I'm not willing to give that up now. I'll probably start going back to the park in the Fall when the weather gets cool again and I'll alternate days with Curves since I'll HOPEFULLY be pretty close to goal by September. ( I know...wishful thinking)

I don't blame you. Even doing curves and the treadmill is a lot. Hell, I'm just trying my best to walk one mile a day!

I'm just hoping I'll be able to keep up this pace until I go on vacation. I got a little scared today because Tuesday I had tons of energy and I wasn't even tired after my workout, yesterday I worked out just as hard but I was tired afterwards, and today while I was on the treadmill I was like....oh God, I'm tired, how am I gonna make it through my curves workout after this? lol

I can only imagine that tomorrow will be even harder. But then I'll at least have the weekend to rest and hopefully next week I'll be raring to go again. *fingers crossed*

And Riot, you're way more active than me during the day so you get to count that as your workouts too. Running after little kids is the BEST workout in the world.

230.2, Oh man guys, i'm getting close, re-lost the mothers day wght. So close to the 20's. I want to go to sleep and wake up and hop on that scale again right now!

I will be able to wear the khaki shorts, they stretched a bit and they looked good, but the jean shorts didn't do so well, it looked like the were painted on and wouldn't stretch out, so they will sit on my dresser where i can see them and try them on every couple a days till i can wear them in public.

I biked again. Whew, never realized how much of a workout that really is especially on a soft gravel road. I almost cried on the way home, but i couldn't cuz my daughter who said..."Mom, i'm so cited that you have a bike, now we can go biking every day!" would constantly look back at me and say "How ya doing mom?" "great babes!" "Isn't this great mom?" "Oh it's great toodles" as i'm gritting my teeth in a fake smile and ready to cry cuz i can see my house but just don't know if my legs will get me there! lol! I made it farther this time though. I think i did a mile. My thighs and butt ache today. But it is one of those good hurts. Just gonna have to keep pluggin away at it!
