Any Atkins Induction!

If you're starting ANY Atkins induction, then this is the place to be.

Everyone is Welcome here because we all want to achieve the same goal, and that's to lose weight!

I'm here to lose! I'm tired of staying at the same weight and want the scale to move. I know from time to time we'll slip up, hey, we're only human!
But let's get right back on it! No guilt, no getting upset, we'll just be accountable and confess then go on.

Let's do it!! Let's get this weight off! If you stop doing induction and want to continue posting here, that's cool!

We're here to support, encourage, if you need a pep talk we'll do that, and you'll always get a high five for and an "Atta Girl" of Atta Boy" when you post your losses!

Let's step into Summer with a new confidence and a new body!!!

WHOOHOO!!! LET'S DO IT!!!!

Hi my name is Diana!

I'm doing Atkins induction, most likely A72. I'm mainly doing this to get some vegetables in my body. I was doing Stillmans QWL and actually broke my stall, but on that you can't have veggies, that's why I'm doing A72 induction.

You can do any Atkins induction you want.

So here's my menu for today.

B-egg salad sandwich with 5 small strips bell pepper, 5 small strips asparagus 2 tsp of full fat mayo on a rev roll.
L- Hamburger on a rev roll
S- 1 hb egg
D- 1 Chicken patties with a small salad
Tons of water!!

Well gotta get ready for work, I'll be back!!!

WELCOME ONE AND ALL!!

HI and WELCOME ALL!!
Time to get this Atkins Induction Thread going!

I'm Christina. I have lost over 100 lbs on Atkins in over a year and a half. I lost too much after having a minor g/b surgery that about cost my life. I have put on about 15 lbs of it since December and I want to get about 10 of that back off.

I am going to do a modified Atkins 72 to see if I can break this weight gain. I LOVE my LC vegetables and I eat alot of Salads. I am cutting out all my artificial sweeteners this time along with alot of my cheese and LC sweets until at least the 21st of April (my 11th wedding anniversary) I did my own kind of Atkins along with ALOT of walking on my treadmill the last time. WE can do this!! Yes..we all do stumble and fall but we got to pick ourselves right back up again and get our keep our LC cycle up and running! WE are here for Support, friendship and we will give you all any information we can to be of help to anyone who wants it.

Ok..here is my menu today (Starting weight 140)

B-2 Eggs fried in 1/2 tsp of Cocount Oil with 2 slices of Bacon
L- Hamburger on Rev Roll with 1/2 cup salad and 1 TBS of 1 Carb Dressing
S- LC Orange Stirfry with LC Stir Fry Vegetables and Cauliflower rice

AT LEAST 100 ounces of Water per day for me
Goal: Try to walk at least 30 min today

Have a Great LC day everyone!!

HUGS

Hi Christina!

I'm so glad you're here! We're going to have a good time losing this weight!

No hassles, no pressures, just doing it at our pace.

You mentioned something about A72 induction. I do believe you can have vegetables on it. It's a cup of lettuce and the allowable vegetables are, radishes, cucumbers, well here let me post that info.

Salads: Two small green salads a day (each less than one cupful, loosely packed) made only of leafy greens, celery, or cucumbers and radishes. Dressings with vinegar, oil, salt, dry spices, herbs, grated cheese, or anchovies. Or else a sour pickle in place of a salad. Plus… green olives.

Then after the first week, you can add other veggies in.

It's not bad though! I think I added more than I should have, but that's okay. I'll see how that affects my when I weight myself tomorrow.

Talk to you soon!!

I'd like to join. Thanks for posting your menus.

I've been doing mostly low carb, but had a weekend out of town and was pretty high carb. I want to get to 175 by my birthday, June 22. Problem is that I haven't found anything yet where the weight just "falls" off. I am going to do the 2 week induction starting tomorrow, I need to stock my fridge better. Also, post menus and stuff here, hopefully you can give me some good pointers!

Today-
b - One minute muffin and peanut butter, Coconut bark
s - coffee with cream
l - Chicken/egg salad wrapped in romaine
s - cream cheese
d - roast with caulitaters and onions, mushrooms breaded in parm cheese & fried

I don't exercise much, it's still cold and I'm away at work too much to do anything at home. When it gets nicer, I will walk probably 2 miles/day, or go shoot hoops on my lunch hour. I drink at least 64 oz water/day.

I just want to say this. . .

I don't know everything about Atkins 72 or DANDR or the Nutritional Atkins and I won't claim too. But I'm learning as I go on this, so if anyone else who happens to come to read our posts, has any information they can share, I would be more than happy to read it!!

I figure that someone who has lost alot of weight and can give me a heads up, well like Christina for one, and anyone else, that would be great!!!

I just have to say too, that I was loving my egg salad sandwich this morning, with the mayo on it!!! Yummy!!! I'm still day dreaming about it!!!

Oh and one more thing! I know this may be gross to some, but I was missing my pork rinds too! Teehee!!

Hi msbaggypants!!
(we musted have posted at the same time)
You're welcome here for sure!!!

I know what you mean about the weight not falling off! The one thing that got me to break my stall was doing the Stillmans Quick Weight Loss too.
But the only thing is you're not allowed veggies on that particular plan, so I came back to A72 for induction.

Now from time to time, I may cycle back to Stillmans, if I want that weight to fall off, but for now, I really need the vegs and the cream in my coffee too! LOL

Yeah come in and check in any time, no pressure or hassles here!!

Hi Sue and msbaggypants
As I said before, I did my own kind of LC Atkins. I ate alot of LC vegetables and I walked at least 30 min to 1 hour 5 times a week on my treadmill. When I was losing before I didn't eat hardly any Artificial Sweeteners. If you can cut out most or all of your caffeine for who is drinking it. I use to down a pot of coffee and a 2 litter of Diet Coke or Pepsi a day. but just about 1 time a week I will drink about 4 oz of Pepsi one if I have the headache to help with that. Ever since my problem with my g/b surgery(they cut my bile duct) I have not had the energy to get started back on my treadmill again. I about died from that last November. I dropped down to 125 pounds. I did like that weight but as soon as I could start eating again (LC) I started putting back on weight. Then around the holidays I started adding LC sweets back in..bad choice..that is where I stand now at 140 lbs.

If I dont lose this way I will cycle back to Stillmans also for about a week to see if that helps. I just miss my veggies so much. I am craving some kind of LC sweet but I am going to try to resist. Guess its time for some more protein.

Ok all..I will be back later. Got to fix a Hamburger and salad for my lunch. Maybe that will fix my Craving for something sweet.

Hi Everyone!

Diana, thanks for starting this thread, and for inviting me!

I went back to Atkins Induction this past Saturday, and have lost 4 pounds so far. I do very well as long as I don't deviate at all from LC...I mean even one teeny bite sets off more. So, no more for me

So far today I have had 46 ounces of water, 3 breakfast links (1), 1 garlic stuffed olive
(1), 1 stalk of celery with cream cheese (2) and 3 more breakfast links (1).

My dinner plan consists of Pork Chops Alfredo, wild whole grain rice for the family with sauted spinach with butter and garlic. Need to down some more water.

I usually try to get some exercise in, but I took a fall yesterday, so I am nursing a bruised cheek and shoulder.

Hi Diana! What a great thread!

Count me in! I would love to jump start my loss again, and I find this plan so much more do-able than Stillmann's.

I'll try and come back later to record my menu.

My goals for today are:

Drink 100 oz water, no soda
30 minutes of excercise
Stay out of the nuts and peanut butter

I have a question. I notice that the salad dressing choices are quite different than DANDR. Do you use creamy no/low carb dressings at all, or just adhere to the oil/vinegar? Since mayo is approved, I was wondering your thoughts.

Hi Jamie
Congrats on your 4 lb loss!!
Well..my walk didn't get far today. Yesterday I was carrying in heavy 2 litters of pop from where i had got at the store and today I am feeling it. I think I have strained my right arm and hip. Either that or I am getting old!!I tried to walk today and got about 10 min into it and my hip about gave out!! Guess that is what you get for trying to help DH with the groceries yesterday evening.

So far so good on my food thou. The protein helped. My craving for something sweet is gone for now.

Need to get my cauliflower chopped up so I can make my faux rice for supper. This will be the first time I fix this so we will see how it goes.

Oh..and almost 70 degress but windy here in SW VA! Beautiful today and tommorow and then back down in the 40's on Thursday.

HUGS Everyone!

I had to run an errand to the City today and before that I went home to use the restroom.
I got a little hungry and decided to eat a piece of rev roll that I made last night. And it was pretty good! I made one in the shape of a loaf and sprinkled the mocha splenda packet, that's for the coffee, before I put it in the oven. Oh wow, was that good! Just sweet enough to trigger a coffee craving, so I made me some coffee too!

Then! I go back home and made me another egg salad sandwich on a rev roll! Boy, I've got the hungries!!!

I really do need to cut back on the AS too! All of this can't be good for me, right?

Doing Atkins induction is going to a little harder for me at first, because I was so used to eating all protein and getting full. Now I have to reprogram my self to eat a little more to get full. But I can do that!! No problem!!!

Diana

What I have found out from AS that it triggers me to eat ALOT more and eat more LC sweets with AS in them..that is why I am TRYING to not use them..I said trying because I am very tempted to fix me some Chocolate Rev Rolls tommorow using Chocolate Protein Powder, TBS of Cocoa, and Chocolate Di Vinci's! (Mary's post).
Well..I am off to start fixing supper.

Good afternoon.

Here I go again too. I need help sticking to an eating plan. Fixing and only eating on plan. There are so many options available and that is probably my problem. I have LC years ago and have lost lots of lbs. Last summer was down to 167 from around 200. Gradually gained some back to about 188 now. I know how to eat, what to eat, have educated myself on all the health benefits but still have a problem on eating as clean as possible. I think that is the reason I am not losing but currently staying same weight although 90% of the time I only eat healthy. I know I need more exercise. Just had my 64th birthday and semi-retired. Any help that I can get to help reinforce eating only planned menus would be great.
Do most of you plan for the whole week? I think if I did that weekly/daily and only eat as planned I could break this stall. I also have a lot of interruptions with eating on plan because of going to grandkids activities and family gatherings, eating with sister etc.

Hi Everyone!

It's so great to see all the new friends!

Personally, I did best last year when I weighed EVERY morning. It held me much more accountable. Not weighing everyday is what got me into trouble to begin with, so I am back to every morning.

Gotta go start some dinner!

Thanks Christina for the welcome.
I made chili soup yesterday after sitting for a couple hours in the cold wind while watching my grand daughter at a track meet. When that is finished I plan on eating mostly just meat, eggs, low carb veggies, salads. Going to stay away from casseroles and Rev. rolls and all the LC goodies. Will probably only fix chicken soup made with chicken breast, celery, onion, garlic etc. The chili soup was a big mistake because I used a packet of chili seasoning and it is very salty.

Hi J.A.
I know what you mean, so many things get in the way of our woe and it just disrupts our planning sometimes.
I guess with me, I take things one day at a time when it comes to this woe. But with the food, I do all my grilling over the weekend, so I'll have meats and chicken to just heat up during the week. Im not much into making fancy meals because that's not my specialty. But I do kick things up from time to time
Anyway, I'm getting off track here, .

But we'll support, encourage and let you vent here! No problem!
There are no set rules here. If you want to post your menu for the day, sometimes that helps us to stay accountable. You can also post your weight loss too, whatever you want to do!

Feel free to come hang out with us. These are bunch of wonderful, caring Ladies!!!

It's so great to see all the new friends!

Personally, I did best last year when I weighed EVERY morning. It held me much more accountable. Not weighing everyday is what got me into trouble to begin with, so I am back to every morning.

Gotta go start some dinner!

Hugs
Hi Jaimie!
What time is it that everyone is starting dinner? It's only 12:41pm here. I feel like I'm behind or something!

Jaimie, you can post your weight here everyday if you want too. You can do anything you want to here.

I'm so excited for your 4lbs down. I just can't stop thinking about that!

Diana, you are cracking me up! Well, around here it is almost 4 pm...but with all the driving I am about to do with my kids, I have to make dinner in shifts on Tuesdays. Some before 4 and some at 5, eat at 6 so DH and I can make it to Church music practices.

I would be happy to post here.

Re-start weight on 3/29/08
179

178 on Sunday and Monday

175 today

I swear I was only at that 160 for 10 minutes last fall then I went on medication, and while the scale kept creeping up, I kept on "fogetting" to weigh...yeah right!
