Hi all!!
I have been so busy cooking I have had no time to post again..Maybe i can start fresh on Monday with you all!! LOL

Ok..now Trish...here it is..this is the original ones that I use...I did something different today and will take and give you that recipe too:

Bark is like a chocolate bar.

4 Tbs EVCO
1 Tbs Cocoa powder
2 OZ almonds (optional)
16 drops liquid stevia (or I use 2 droppers of English Toffee flavor, this is excellent)
1/4 tsp of vanilla extract

Melt CO in micro for 1 min, add everything but the almonds and use a wisk to mix VERY well. Then add almonds, mix again and stick in freezer till hard. Simple, easy, and quick!

Here's another recipe!

CHOCOLATE COCONUT BARK
20 grams Lindt 85% cocoa chocolate, 2 squares
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tablespoon granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda

Break the chocolate up into small pieces and put in a microwaveable bowl along with the coconut oil. Microwave on 50% power about 1 minute or until the chocolate has melted. Add the Splenda and stir to blend well. Pour into a small container lined with nonstick foil. Freeze until firm then break or chop into pieces. Store in the freezer for best results. It melts very quickly at room temperature.

Makes 2-4 servings

With granular Splenda:
1/4 Recipe: 145 Calories; 16g Fat; 1g Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb
1/2 Recipe: 290 Calories; 32g Fat; 1g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs

With liquid Splenda:
1/4 Recipe: 144 Calories; 16g Fat; 1g Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; trace Net Carbs
1/2 Recipe: 287 Calories; 32g Fat; 1g Protein; 1.5g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; .5g Net Carbs

Ok..I used the 2nd recipe for this and make it 5 times the amount and added 1 1/2 TBS of Peanut Butter to mine..boy its great with no sweetners added or just a little if you want too..

8 square of Lindt 85 percent chocolate
1 1/4 cups of CO
1 1/2 TBS of Peanut Butter..use Skippy Natural here
Melted together and then added the Peanut butter and froze till firm

Got to get back to cooking..

Later you all!!
HUGS
Christina

That recipe with the peanut butter sounds yummy! Must try it.....

Ok Lady Di....what music are you listening to? Too bad we can't pull it up here and get everyone in the forum dancing

I just finished dinner. Had some talapia cooked in butter and garlic and some fried cabbage. DH doesn't like any kind of cooked cabbage so I make it when he's gone.

Now, for all of us who did our taxes this year I thought you might get a giggle out of this:

Income Tax Filing Strategy

To: Internal Revenue Service, Department of the Treasury Washington, DC 20001

Enclosed is my 2008 Form 1040, together with payment. Please take note of the attached article from USA Today archives. In the article, you will note that the Pentagon paid $171.50 each for hammers and NASA paid $600.00 each for toilet seats.

Please find enclosed in this package four toilet seats (value $2,400.00) and six hammers (value $1,029.00). This is in payment for my total tax due of $3,429.00.

Out of a sense of patriotic duty, and to assist in the political purification of our government, I am also enclosing a 1.5 inch Phillips head screw, for which HUD duly recorded and approved a purchase value of $22.00, as my contribution to fulfill the Presidential Election Fund option on Form 1040.

It has been a pleasure to pay my taxes this year, and I look forward to paying them again next year in accordance with officially established government values.

Sincerely,
Another satisfied taxpayer

Have a great evening!!!!

My only downfalls over the 24hour period were 3 South Beach bars, 2 were 9 carbs each and the other was 3 carbs. I ate mostly nuts and cheese over 2 days but I did not cheat and more importantly was not even tempted to cheat.

The house we stayed at had just had a huge BBQ over the weekend and it felt like a cruel joke when I walked in the kitchen to see THE BIGGEST pile of carbs I have seen! LOL! Chips, cookies, hot dog buns, hamburger buns, bagels, crackers, goldfish crackers, you name it! BUT, not even tempted.

I also had a little emotional breakdown at one point when someone got a poloroid with me in the background. I nearly broke down and cried right there while working. It was so upsetting for me to see how big I am now. It really affected my mood all day but later I just calmed myself down by saying "Its ok, you are working on it and will over this soon". Kinda corny I know but I really hit a low.

Argh..sorry for the novel!

My last weigh in was on Tues at 235 (down 4lbs) and today I am at 234 so I am on the right track at least

Good for you! Way to resist the temptation, and you are right, you ARE working on this!! You can do it!

The funky hormone weight seems to be leaving, woohoo! Down 1 1/2 pounds today.

Thanks for the sweet comments I have lost 30 pounds in a MONTH!!!! WOOHOO!!!

And the coconut bar sounds yummy, but I can't have that stuff in my house, LOL! Or I will eat it all the time. I have Dove Sugar-Free candy, and I will have 2, and then one more gives me diarrhea, so I know that I can't have more than 2...that keeps me honest

Aw shucks Thanks!

I just stayed as close to the induction foods as I could (LOTS of meat, steak, green beans, cheese) and a handful of peanuts every now and then when I wanted a "cheat" because I love peanuts. I walk my dog every night, so I am getting some kind of a workout, and I am drinking as much water as I can stomach When I am not drinking water, I am drinking unsweet tea with sweet n low (I know, everyone has their opinion about different sweetners, but I like sween n low). I would limit myself to 3 packets a day (per DANDR book) so my huge glass of tea was only a little sweet. I didn't really snack, drink "diet" drinks (like soda). I didn't eat low carb versions of foods (like LC pasta or bread or tortillas). Hm...what else...I dont know....no alcohol, NO sugar, in anything. Meats and greens and cheese, that is my usual day.

Today I had 3 vienna sausages for breakfast (not that yummy, but it was something, and it was LC meat). And I had a salad at Chipotle for lunch (lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, cheese, sourcream). VERY GOOD! I don't know for dinner yet. I have some really good ham lunch meat, and I think I will nuke it, so it is like dinner meat, and make some broc and cheese. And water, water, water.

Anyway, I don't know if any of that is helpful, but that is what I have been doing, and until right now (hovering around 245) I have been losing the weight fast. I am about to kick it into another gear, and hopefully break this plateau!

It does help a lot, thank you! I am trying to do the same, am not having ANY Frenkenfoods at all. I am eating Macadamians and almonds but am watching my portions. I was away from home yesterday and had to eat some South Beach Diet bars but I still think I was under 40 carbs for the day.

Thanks so much for sharing, I am sure you will have a HUGE whoosh soon

Hi Sistah's,

Sorry I've been missing, I have been so busy. I didn't spring clean. I think it hit me yesterday. lol

Tiff Wow, what a difference 30 lbs makes. you are beautiful. keep up the good work.

Welcome to all our new friends. everyone here is friendly and helpful.

Chris, you are a better woman than me. I couldn't just eat the CO. I cook with it and oil pull w/it. Do you cook with it are do you just eat it. maybe I missed something.

Diana, I couldn't hear the music, waaaaa. maybe its cause I can't get dsl only dial up..grrr. but I love living in the woods.lol

Christine, can I come live with you. I know your a good cook. hope things settle down for you soon.

Mary, when you say " heavy cream " is that half n half ,or is it whipping cream. the recipe sounds wonderful .

Jenn, I need to mulch around my trees. I have the brownest thumb you'll ever see. do you have the scalloped turnip receipe. if so will you post it please. I love turnips.

Laura, I've never taken the carb blockers, I do take the cinnamon pills. they keep your blood sugar from spiking. I think on netrion it is called cinnamon bark . you can read up on it there. I got mine at walmart for about 3.99. I can tell a big difference. I think it also helps with my appetite..I know the coconut oil does. not sure what it does tho. I just know it does. you'll get in sic soon. just hang tough. we are here for you.

Lotpoz, you are doing great. I do really bad when I travel. we are all on the same path. we'll get to our destation bit by bit. we will lose weight the same way we gained it. One spoonful at a time.

Trish, you sound up beat. yep you gotta try the Co Bark.

Wavvvvvv to all I missed. I know when I name names I'll miss someone.

Rae

I made the CO last night..it is de-lish.

Hi Ladies just a quick hello before I head off to read and sleep.
Yes Rae I really do just eat the Co right off the spoon It is just quicker that way. I also cook some with it. Not too much cause Dh hates the taste of coconut. I can't really enjoy the music either we still have dial-up but in a week or too we are going to bite the bullet and pay to have Comcast....it is pretty pricey because we don't have cable we have direct tv and Dh will not give it up. Neither would I, I love my dish.

Ok I will talk to you all in the A.M sounds like everyone is doing well!
