Hey everyone! I had a bad day yesterday and I had 3 pieces of gluten free pizza for dinner (long story) so I fully expected to see a gain on the scale this morning, but NO! I LOST a pound! Ha! This is too funny. I think the weightloss fairy is enjoying the rum and cookies that I leave out for her at night!

Sorry to have been among the missing yesterday. Our internet service, long distance and 911 were all wiped out by the tornadoes down in Colorado. Got back on again this morning but it's touch and go because it's been drizzling (our version of "rain") for 3 days and phone lines are wet. Just a small GRRR here.... we have the WORST phone lines in the region and the HIGHEST fees. We pay $46 a month just for basic service from Qwest.

ANYway. Thursdays numbers:

Cals: 1919
Pro: 89g
Fat: 160g
Carbs: 43g
Fiber: 14.8g

Was down 1.2 pounds Friday morning mostly because without a gall bladder all that fat negated any need for MoM, LOL. Whew.

Yesterday kinda got out of whack. I started off ok with my breakfast: 558 cal, 29g protein, 47g fat and 3g carb, 0 fiber.

Then we went to town to see the financial advisor (yeah, we're High Rollers. NOT!) and hubby wanted to go to lunch so we went to the local Perkins. They had some new yummy looking salads so I had the grilled chicken on mixed greens with strawberries and pecans with a raspberry honey dressing. Am looking on their website to see if they list the nutrients. But probably not. So I've calculated as closely as I can get.

Had rotisserie chicken for dinner. And if you all don't have one, I cannot recommend the George Foreman Baby Rotisserie highly enough. It makes such delicious chicken you will NOT believe it. Hubby, who's high praise usually consists of "it's OK," praised it to the skies again last night. Of course it helps that we get chickens that come in fresh from Nebraska and aren't full of hormones. They actually LOOK like a chicken and not a miniature turkey.

So yesterday's totals which is a guesstimate:

Cals: 1837
Pro: 115g
Fat: 135.6
Carbs: 37
fiber: 9.4

ANYhoo. That was ALL I ate. Leg, thigh, wing, bit of breast meat and all the skin. YUMMY. figured that was plenty of fat. Then had an Atkins coconut bar as a snack. When am I going to learn.

Got up this morning to 194.6 which is where I was on Wed plus 0.2 pounds.

sigh.

Again, I'm aiming for a minimum of:

Cals: 1700
Pro: 64g
Fat: 142
Carbs: 43g

Hi Darleen, lol, you mean we aren't eating mini turkeys???!!
I would watch the old Andy Griffith shows and watch them eat fried chicken. I'd say, look at them little chicken drumbsticks they're eating! LOL! Not realizing that we're eating hormone infested chickens!!
That George Foreman sounds good!!
Not to worry, you'll get this whole woe worked out!!!

Glad to know that you're all safe!! I saw that tornado on the news! It was huge!!! I was wondering what happened to you! We've had some wild weather here too!

I hope you have some good weather coming!! Have a great day!!! Stay safe!

Hi Diana,

we weren't even close to the storms. We're on the other end of Wyoming, about 300 miles away. One of the fiberoptic cables got cut so we lost all those services. We're from Fort Collins/Loveland originally and have friends and relatives there. They were all unharmed by the storms which pretty much hit Windsor and Wellington. Made quite the mess. that just NEVER used to happen. Of course, there never used to be all those housing developments there either.

YEAH!!

My oopsies came out this time!!!!

I did them by had w/a whisk and they looked so much better. So let this be a lesson:

If your hubby uses one of your beaters from the mixer to attach to his drill so that he can mix drywall mud, do NOT attempt to use the one remaining beater to whip egg whites. It just doesn't work!

Darleen - I have a george foreman indoor infusion grill and LOVE it! Had it for about 3 yrs now and still holds up and love how it keeps things juicy!

I am getting ready to cook dinner but had to jump on real quick to post it!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

my menu real quick:
b - chunk of cheddar cheese and coffee w/cream and DV syrup
l - KFC snck wrap in grilled chickn, no sauce and just dumped onto a plate so i didn't eat tortilla, side of green beans
d - leftover pork loin made into BBQ sandwiches (i get one on my new oopsie rolls!) maybe bratwurst

I also have a new love at Taco Bell (my DD works there so when I stopped in she put this together for me for luch):

2 ckn soft tacos (not the ranchero type) and tell them to dump it in a bowl!!

you get plenty of ckn, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes and is very tastey!

BTW Chris/Mac/Ckn Lady you jinxed me!! Last night I startd TOM!! thanks!! glad Di posted the bark recipe!

Now I do have to cook dinner, later guys!!

Hey, I have a question for Di and anyone else who has been LC for a while..... I have "cheated" twice in the last couple of days and I seem to lose MORE when I am eating more carbs (but still no sugar). Any thoughts why??

I had the pizza, and broke a 4 day stall (was stuck at 247 for 4 days, then had pizza, and was 246 the next AM. Then had popcorn at the movies, and was 244 the next day).

I was being really good and strict until a couple of days ago. Do you think that maybe my body needed a "carb-shock" or something? I am still sticking with the induction foods, and moving forward this weekend with no more cheats!! But I am just curious if any of you have broken a plateau by eating MORE carbs, or if this makes sense to you.

Thanks!!!
Tiffany

Hi Tiff!

Yes most likely, while you're giving your body a "re-feed", then go back to eating lc, you're body seems to lose. If you're eating high carb, then go back to lc, it seems that it does shock your body. At least that's been my experience. If anyone else can add to that, please do!

HAPPY SUNDAY....ALL IS WELL

Goodmorning guys!!

well, i made it to 124!! i was concerned i wasnt going to see that number for awhile, but it did happen! (nearing the end of induction week two)

we had my FIL b-day party yesterday....didnt have time to make the oopsie rolls, so went with only a spinach salad. they were serving hoagies, chips, vegies and fruit, and some homemade chocolate cake. all the foods that were high carb, werent even a temptation. i was so relieved!! i ended up having an egg creme shake before leaving, and that really seemed to keep me full. i added some sf cocolate soy milk to it....i am having a hard time finding ANY almond breeze sf chocolate milk!!? does anyone know if you can order this thru netrition?

have a good sunday!

oh, and JEN, i am SOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU regarding your oopsies success!! and, that is hilarious about DH and your mixers....ha.

hugs. v

Good Morning!!!

It's another beautiful day here again!!
We had a blast last night, eating and singing. I had our camera up and if anyone was online could have seen us!! LOL!!
I ate a little bit off plan, not much, but I'll be a good girl. . . maybe on Monday.

Hi Laura, how are you? I'm glad you checked with us! Have you started lc again? Don't feel bad if you haven't, just know that we're still for you Hon, and I don't want you to feel that you can't say anything to us. We're all here to help one another, not judge, okay. So please remember that.

Jen, you did it!!! Yipppey!! Doesn't it make a difference in them!! Now you'll be able to make them with no problem!!!
Oh and did you find you another Coconut oil? The other should still work because you're using chocolate and sweetner. The oil is what is more important!!

Yeah Viv!!! Good for you on the 124!!! Boy, you did extremly well on passing up the temptation, especially the chocolate cake! Wow!! I know once you set your sights on what you want to do, you can resist almost anything.
I'm so happy for you!!

Oh Darleen, that's great then!!! I hope your computer is still up!! How's everything going for you so far?

Hi Christina! How are you doing today! I was hoping you were online because like I said I had my camera on while we were doing Karaoke! You would have laughed!!!

Hi Chris, how's everything going with you? Hope you're having a super day!!!

Hi Mary, have a fantastic weekend!!!

Hi Rae, I hope you have a wonderfull weekend too!!!

Hi Jaimie, how are you doing? Any thing fun planned?

Hi Buddysgirl, hope you're having some fun too!!

gosh I sure miss all chit chat today!

I've had a pretty good day ... took hubby to brunch at our favorite restaurant so when I got up about 6am had an ounce of camembert and 2 slices of braunschweiger plus a mug of coffee with REAL cream in it (no carbs, just PURE FAT! Gee I love Organic Valley!). Had the eggs benedict which were done with lox instead of canadian bacon. Skipped the potatoes and dragged out the croissant and stuck it over on the side of the plate. Did eat about 1/2 cup of fruit ... mostly melon with a couple of strawberry slices and 2 blueberries. More coffee but with 1/2 and 1/2. Had a TBS of CO mid afternoon with a good TBS+ of the cream cheese/pnut butter mix. Went to see Ironman (wow it was great!) and shared a medium sized bag of popcorn with hubby. The FIRST popcorn I've had in 3 months! Sure tasted good.

We had Schwan's BBQ ribs for dinner, a small green salad (just lettuce mix with homemade dressing V&O) and about 1/2-3/4 cup mixed green & yellow beans with butter. Will have some more CO & cc/pnt butter before bed.

The stix are barely turning pink even after 4 days and all this fat. However, they ARE getting progressively darker.

I am feeling much better since I bumped up the calories and increased the fat. I'm also back using my progesterone cream. Ordered some DHEA cream and it came a couple of days ago so am using it also.

I sure hope my metabolism will fire back up soon. I'm still bummed about the GAIN but keep telling myself it just is going to take time to recover from all those years of poor eating plus the lowered calories of the last 1 1/2 years.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

G'Morning Everyone!

Darleen, your menu yest sounded delicious! I've never had lox and always wanted to try. And at least you have some pink on your stix. You may be burning more than you are eliminating so that is ok. right??! right!!!! great job!!!

Laura - glad to see you popped in for a visit!! how are you doing??!

chris L. - that is very thoughtful of you to go visit cemetery like that, it's not a downer! it's patriotic!! i am from a family of veterans myself so i understand!

Di - wow it sounded like you guys had a blast the other night! one thing i've never done is karaoke. i only sing in the shower! hahaha so how many tequila shots does it take for you to get up there singing esp on a webcam?! i'd need the bottle!! LOL

Viv - great job on your planning! the egg cream prob helped satisfy that sweet craving ahead of time! excellent! and i think hubby owes me a new mixer now! sure would make oopsies easier!

have a great day to everyone! if i missed ya, sorry! (buddysgirl, drew, Chris the chickn lady hahaha)

remember your water!!!

Hi guys just popping in real quick. I have to head outside soon while the weather is still good. we are supposed to get storms later today. We had a great time yesterday at the party. I didn't have anything I shouldn't except for: 4 srawberries and 3 low carb beers oh yeah and 1 low carb turtle. But I ate the strawberries while everyone else had cake and the turtle while everyone else had S'mores so I think I did ok. Don't think the scale will agree though.

Oh well, such is life!!!

Just had my breakfast eggs of course bacon and sausage. Ribs for dinner tonight. Not sure about lunch yet...We'll see. Hope you all have a great day today and the weather cooperates wherever you are!
Love ya Chris

Laura, honey I know exactly where you're coming from. 2 years ago I hit my all time high of 241. I HATED myself. I have NEVER posted this picture before because I was so ashamed of how I looked. I had NO idea I was that bad.

Shortly after I went on Jenny Craig and starved off 58 pounds. That's the second picture. If I can do it on such a lousy diet you sure can on Atkins! I have absolute faith in you.

Now I'm going to say something that will probably make you bang your head on the desk.

All you have to do is decide to do it.

when I came off JC I knew I would put some weight back on. As I was reading Gary Taubes's book at the time I made a DECISION to eliminate ALL grains, all starches, all fruit (for the time being) and ALL SUGAR from my diet. I have stuck stubbornly by that for 3 months (until yesterday when I made a DECISION to have some popcorn at the movies).

You CAN do this.

Let me tell you my defining moment. It was September 2006 and we were getting ready to go on a road trip to Boise to visit Hubby's sister and BIL (that's where THAT picture was taken). Then we were to go on to Washington state to hang with friends and watch the CSU/CU football game.

I had a mini meltdown in front of my husband, weeping and wailing about how I didn't want our friends to see me like I was and how I hated the way I looked (translated: I HATE MYSELF).

My darling husband looked at me as if I'd lost my mind and then said "Well, why don't you do Jenny Craig?"

Stopped me in mid sob. Well why the hell hadn't I thought of that? And how do you know who/what Jenny Craig is anyway? Oh yeah. Kirstie Alley.

I said, but it's expensive. He said, I don't care. Bless his heart.

so that's how I got my mojo workin'.

What you're attempting to do is harder because YOU are responsible for all of it. the menus, the macronutrient counting, the shopping. I had it easy because all I had to do was follow the instructions, open a box heat and eat.

I really wouldn't recommend JC unless as a LAST resort to get your self esteem back. It's low fat, low protein and very high carb and loaded with sugar. After 17 months I was sick and tired of being hungry and tired all the time and my metabolism had slowed to a crawl so NOW I'm faced with the daunting task of restarting it. As a last resort I think it would be okay for maybe 6 months MAX.

So you hang in there kid. YOU CAN DO THIS!
