Diana, if you go on HRT DO NOT USE PREMARIN. It's made from pregnant mare's urine and those mares are kept in nightmare conditions. the foals, I've heard, are used for dog food.
I suggest you ask for the lowest possible dose of Vivelle dots (they are tiny little patches you just slap on your backside and you change them twice a week). Also do NOT let him give you progesTINS which are synthetic progesterone pills. They will mess you up big time. Instead, I recommend you get a pump bottle of Life-Flo's Progestacare. It's natural-to-the-body progesterone cream which is dispensed in proper dosage. I buy mine here. You'll have to do a bit of searching. I get the 2 ounce bottle from them for $22 which is HALF what my local health food store charges. One bottle is good for a month. Please dont' take my say-so on this. If you haven't read Dr. John R. Lee's books, I recommend them ALL to every woman on the planet. Best one is "what your doctor may not tell you about menopause." It's a bit technical as he wrote it for health care professionals, but it is INVALUABLE for women heading into menopause. OK, lecture mode off. I really stuck to the plan yesterday and went over 2000 calories. It wasn't easy getting in all the fat but I managed at the end by having an ounce of macadamias. Total counts were: Cals: 1948 pro: 106g carbs: 27 g fats: 162.2 I really overshot the protein but that was from the 2 ounces of cheese I had plus the cream cheese/pnut butter concoction. Oh, here's THAT recipe if anyone is interested: 8 ounces cream cheese 8 TBS organic peanut butter 6 TBS heavy cream 2 pkts (or equivalent drops of liquid) Splenda Mix VERY well. The longer you whip it the lighter it gets. I put a generous TBS on each of my CO/choco bark mini muffins (see Diana's recipe above). BTW, the Lindt 85%? That does have sugar in it. I know it's a tiny amount but it's there just the same. I use Ghiradelli's baking chocolate and just add extra sweetener. So ladies, a good day to all. Congrats on those who've lost and to those of us in a holding pattern... hang in there. It's raining here (actually what we call "rain" amounts to a light drizzle but we'll take it) and my DSL is blinking in and out. We need the moisture so I can't complain, just may not get back on again today.

I made the bark last night and it was wonderful! You don't have to use the Lindt chocolate, you can use the Hershey unsweetened cocoa powder. I use the really dark one, it has less carbs in it. Quote:
You know Hon, if you want to celebrate your anniversary, just do it! I mean it's a big deal and you don't want to deprive yourself of having a good time. I'm not trying to steer you in the wrong direction, but you need to have fun too! Just something to think about! ![]() Oh and I agre about Jimmy Moore! He's fantastic!!! Hi Darleen, Thank you so much for the information!! I need all I can get right now because I am clueless on all this stuff! I'll definately check this out! And if anyone has anything else to contribute, I'll be happy to hear!!! Jen, you can do an almond joy typ candy!!! I love those too!! I know you can add unsweetened coconut to it and a few almonds. It's great!! I heard though, that CO makes ones' stomach upset at first because their not used to it. But you just need a little piece of it to satisfy the craving! And the benefits of this are outstanding!!! Hi Christina!! I'm glad you're here Sweetie! How's everything going for you today so far? I brought me a couple of Atkins shakes in case I can't handle doing the fasting. I don't have to fast, but in case I have to get some blood work done, I want to be perpared and get it done today.

Ahh, Laura, you're not a failure!!! Don't say that! I think you may have to plan your meals out. If you know that you're going to be doing something or having company, make sure you have your snacks too. LindaSue has so many wonderful snack ideas. You could get a sausage and cheese tray, some pork rind and dip them in onion dip or salsa. Cut up some veggies and dip them in ranch or blue cheese dressing. Eat some chicken wings. Make you some wraps with lettuec leaves. You can do this Sistah!! But don't down on yourself, okay, leave it behind and start fresh right now!! Do you want some help looking up recipe ideas? I'll help you!!! Let me know okay!! ![]() |

Yup, meal planning. You don't have to do a week's worth either. Plan your day 24 hours ahead of time. Write it all down if necessary and post it on the fridge. When you KNOW what you're going to eat it's a LOT easier. That was the BEST thing I learned from Jenny Craig.
OK, here's a quickie lesson. I thought I was OK with the coconut oil so pigged out on TWO TBS before breakfast then had the bacon & eggs fried in more CO. I drained all but <1TBS from the pan before I fried the eggs. my tummy is NOT happy! LOL. It's been upset all morning and now I'm burping ... gah. Lesson learned. No more than ONE TBS of CO at a time and NOT on an empty stomach. urk. |

hi ladies!! i ate a late breakfast (philly steak w/onions and peppers on a LC tortilla) actually had 2 since tortillas were small.. here it is my lunch time and i'm not hungry really! i ate one ckn finger i made for dinner last night (LC of course) but i'll wait. if i'm still hungry in a bit i'll get my other one out and my salad. on my way home i am going to try to stop at wally's and see the CO thing...
so menu today: coffee w/cream and splash DV hazelnut b - 2 sm. tortillas of philly steak w/peppers, onions and some cheese L - 1 ckn finger (coated in almond flour and sprinkle of carbquik for coating) (maybe more later but not now!!) d - i think pork loin and some veggies on teh side Laura! don't fret!! so you didn't plan ahead and gave in... it's not hte end of the world. just pick up where you left off, get back on plan... and try to plan ahead next time. eat before you go, take a snack you CAN have. As i go along, i am finding more people being mindful of my eating habits and not offering me things that i shouldn't have. that helps to say no when it's not even presented to you!! you can do it!! stick with it!! trish - you got a plan girl! go for it! i need to kick my exercise up a notch too... you can do it!! ok guys, my lunch is over so back to work for me!! Mary, dont' work tooo hard girl!! see ya'll later on !!! have a great afternoon!!

Hi Trish..SA are Sugar Alcohols...Just be careful about getting alot of LC treats and adding them to your LC foods...they can cause Stalls and Weight gain even on LC Inductions..I am using my powder pure Stevia now since I cant buy the liquid till after we get DH parents house sold. I am doing alright today..thanks for asking.

OK girls, I have read the book, I am following the diet but I just am not losing the weight. I don't think I am getting enough fat in. Could this stop the weight from coming off? My total calories are usually only around 1400 - 1500 calories. But it is hard if we are only allowed 4oz of cheese and 3oz of heavy cream to get the fat in there. I can't see in the book what the percentage of each are suppose to be..Have I just missed that part..I mean I am glad my glucose is down but I need to lose this weight as well. I have only lost 3 pounds since starting this diet on May the 3. All suggestions are welcome.

Hello!
I was surprised yesterday when I added more fat in my diet, I lost that pound. It was the coconut oil, and probably the bacon and avocado. I felt full and content too!! So Buddysgirl if you add more fat in, use olive oil or butter and the fat from beef or chicken, maybe a little mayo. NO so much the cream cheese or heavy cream. There is a reason why we are limited on the latter, because they can cause stalls. ![]() Thanks Tricia! I think I'm going to make oppsies too, or the rev rolls with protein powder in them. But they do help to fill us up!! I know shakes may help to lose, I got a couple of them in case of a snack. I just get a little gassy with them from the SA too! I don't know why you're not losing, your menu looks good, but you may be losing inches, slowly maybe. That's what happend to me too. But I realized that I was losing inches. Jen your sandwich sounds awesome!!! It's making me hungry, lol!! Talk to you later! Darleen, that's what I was saying about the CO, it can upset the stomach if you eat too much of it. That happened to me when I first made it, then eventually I got used to it. ![]() Laura, how are you doing? Let us know if you're alright, okay. ![]() |

Good Afternoon Sistah's,
This has been another busy day for me. I went and got my hair cut. I looked like I needed a bush hog instead of a cut.lol The advice here today is awesome as is everyday. My name is Chris and I am addicted to fresh chicken eggs...lol..I think there is a 12 step program for that..NO WAIT..thats 12 eggs. lol < ducking > 2 funny Laura, please allow me to get a lil " Preachey " hon you are to hard on yourself. We all trip our own selves up. Maybe you need to think of yourself as a friend. Would you treat a friend like you treat yourself ? NO ONE, is going to take care of you, LIKE You would. So hon I agree with all we're here for you.We will help you anyway we can. OK, off the soap box. Diana thanks for the CO bark recipe. sounds wonderful. I am sooooooo hooked on CO . When I up'd it thats when I saw a loss. I also Oil Pull with it. It is wonderful. I feel so much better. I can tell a big difference in my energy level. I saw a thread on here about oil pulling and it caught my attention. I thought it sounded crazy enough that it just mingt work , and boy howdy it does. Christine, I to got my 1st CO at Wally World. It was in the section with all the oils. It wasn't EVCO. I had no idea that it was in Pharmacy ,and it was EVCO. I will check it out. Wavnnnnnnn to , Jenn, Jamie, Diane, Darleen, Chris chick chick, Christine, Vivi, Trish, Moretta, Laura, buddysgirl, Mary. I hate naming names I sure hope I didn't leave anyone out..
