Hi Ladies!

I've got a busy Saturday but wanted to stop in and say Hi!

Hi Darleen, jeepers, I'm sorry about this. I'm wondering if it's the muffin that's doing this. If it's got flaxmeal in it, it could be causing the gain.
The best thing to do is iliminate one thing at a time to narrow down what may be causing the gain. Then slowly add back in what is not.

That's the onley thing I can think of to do. It's worth a shot! But don't worry, I'm sure there is a solution. I hope you have a great day!!

Hi Jen, Oh it helps so much when our husbands are with us on this! It makes it so much easier for us to do lc.
Mine is very supportive, but every once in awhile he'll try to get me to drink some wine or champagne, and
I say, no, no, no
Sounds like a fun night you had Jen! Nothing wrong with that!! Have a great day!!

Hi Viv, I'm pretty bad in doing Fitday too. I haven't done if faithfully since last year! But I guess I mentally calculate what I eat. I don't know if that's good or bad, but that's how I do it!
Come do my laundry when you get done with yours!! PLease!!!
Have a great day!!

Hi Buddygirl, on the oopsie, you count then per the roll. Or unless you added more to it. But whatever Cleo counts the carbs as, thats what you count. You'll be alright, hang in there, you'll see a whoosh soon!!
Have a great day!!
Oh and have fun at the play!!

Talk to you soon Ladies!!

LOL ok I will wait for that Whoosh..So I don't have to count the cheese in the oopsie roll as part of my cheese allotment then??? I am being bad to night as I am having a couple of rye and diet gingerale with hubby tonight when we get home from the theater as we sit around the fire pit and discuss the show. For supper though I am having a chicken burger on Oopsie roll and a salad.

hey Darleen,

i found this post on the main lobby under the interview on atkins (was near the top of that 1st page).. it was a question and answer posted during an interview with an M.D. who's part of Atkins. I'm not sure this will help, but this was the response to a situation similar to yours:

QUESTION:

I am eating without cheating. I weigh and measure everything.
4 oz protein and 3/4c vegge are my serving size I cut back dairy and fat is only a little evoo or peanut oil.

I have barely lost five lbs in two and a half months.

Dr took a metabolic blood test.
If a blood test for metabolisim shows I am normal why such slow fat burning?

In a situation such as this what else can I do to make the fat burn away? Perhaps cut the protein serving down to 3 oz.

ANSWER:

When individuals follow very low-calorie diets their basal metabolic rate will slow down to compensate for the low caloric intake. This is the body's survival response to preserve its internal organs and muscle mass. If someone is following the Atkins protocol correctly, he or she should not be taking in fewer than 1,800 calories daily from protein, natural fats and vegetable sources. This energy supply should not cause a drop in the metabolic rate, but rather maintain the rate while using primarily fat (instead of carbohydrate) as a fuel for needed energy.

I would advise counting calories for a few days to do a reality check, make sure you are not starving yourself.

True, too many calories can stall weight loss as well, but some folks shoot too low for an Atkins type approach and go into a starvation mode.

If you are on a weight-loss plateau, cutting back on or omitting food intolerance like cheese and nuts altogether may be all it takes to get you back on the road to weight loss. You will need to experiment to determine which foods may be the culprit.

Don't get discouraged. Exercise is by far the most profound way to break a plateau. If you are not exercising, start, if you are exercising, step it up a bit.

So maybe it's not enough calories?? Or like Di said, it could be a certain food. I hope this helps!! I went looking for answers to try to help ya because you sound so frustrated and you absolutely DESERVE to have it work for you!

Good luck!!

Good Morning Ladies!!

Jen you're such a sweetheart!!! I hope this helps Darleen, because I agree with you, she does deserve to have this work for her!!

We're here for you Darleen and will help you out in anyway! I was trying to find the FF thread, but there are a couple, I'm not sure which one. If I remember correctly, the FF is only to be about 300 to 500 per meal? So if you're getting at least that, you should be losing.

We'll get to the bottom of this!!

Jen how are you doing today! I haven't been here much this weekend, had the kids over. Trying to entertain them! Haha!!
I hope things are going great for you!

Right Buddys, just count the carbs in the roll themselves. Since you're not eating the full amount of cheese anyway, it's disbursed throughout the egg mixtures.
And then count your chocolate glaze too.

Hi Di !! Good Morning!! LOL

I was here browsing info and also recipies now having some coffee. I am excited becuase I *DID* find out my WM has Divinci's!! I bought my very first bottle yesterday (Hazelnut) and am trying it w/my coffee and cream! I think I like it ! (i ordered a bottle of vanilla w/my netrition order but it hasn't come in yet)

Sounds like you did have a busy day yesterday too! what are your plans today? a co-worker of mine just announced she is moving out to AZ!! i forget the down, i'll ask again and see how close to ya she may be!

I bought some plants yest I want to get in the ground. We've been here almost 3 yrs in this house and been working inside remodeling so much, not much has been down on yard yet. With DD graduation in 2 wks and I know we have company coming, I want to throw down some quick color. Try to spruce up some so it doesn't look neglected! haha

Truth is I am VERY bad with plants, of all types! They die on me no matter how hard I try to do it right!! I have a black thumb. The only thing that has not died on my are my Hostas. Dedicated lil' suckers they are! But in 2 weeks I am sure these will still be alive and looking good!! haha

DD went on a weekend trip with some some friends and their parents to one of the amusement parks and will be back later this afternoon. She has surprise when she gets home and I hope to enjoy some of this sunshine outside! I think my gardening may be my exercise today, doing the tae bo downstairs here is givig me shin splints!!

Ok, I'm going to try to sign into Yahoo! and have another cup of coffee!

Hi Jen,
I love the folgers Chocolate coffee with the kahlua davinci and a mocha splenda packet w/ hc. A gal from another thread introduced me to this chocolate coffee and is it good!!!
I highly recommned the Kahlua, very versatile!

I have a black thumb too!! I can't plant for anything!! I really need to get moving on my house too. We've only done a few things and need to get the rest taken care of.

Well, I'm off to take of things!

Talk to you all later!!

Guys, thanks so much for your comments and offers of help.

I went over to the protein power forums yesterday and did some more searching. I know I've been eating at least 1800 cal/day while trying to do induction.

I've decided to do a week's worth of 2 protein shakes a day and one good meal to see if that shakes anything loose (no pun intended). I'm also adding in a couple TBS of CO just to be on the safe side.

I really am beginning to think it's a calorie thing so am going to aim for 1500/day for one week to see how I do. And yesterday ... no joy. Still at 194.4 and I kept to 1300-1500 calories. Had a regular breakfast of bacon & eggs, protein shake for lunch (1/2 cup wild organic blueberries + 1/2 cup almond milk + 1/2 cup coconut milk + scoop of Bioplex whey protein + DV SF raspberry syrup and 2 pkts splenda). For dinner had a grilled 4 oz strip steak, small salad with homemade V&O dressing, 1/2 cup steamed broccoli/cauliflower with Stella's mornay sauce (about 2 TBS). For dessert had a schwan's SF chocolate "fudge" bar ...

Have returned to using progesterone cream on the advice of a woman over on the coconut oil forums (why i quit is a mystery to me, LOL), and a spot of testosterone cream 2x a week and a dab of OTC estrogen cream 2x a week. No parts. No hormones. Maybe that will help. I'm sleeping better already so ???

Anyway. One week on the 2 shakes a day/ one meal regimen. Not much better than a fat fast but I am eating one real meal daily. I figure if I can just jump start the weight loss then I'll be fine.

Hi my friends......Saying hi.....I wasnt home all day yesterday so I didnt check in. I'm going to be honest I havent been doing 100% LC which I know isnt part of the program My problem is I'm never prepared and its easy to just go through a drive through then deal with meal preparation when I'm hungry. I'm about to go to the store. I'm going to prepare as much as I can ahead of time and re-start tommorow. And I hope this is the last time for a long long while!!!!

Hey Darleen- Hope you see a woosh soon!! Are you working out? That sounds like the only thing you aren't tweaking, but maybe I missed a post about it.

Well, I just had the most AMAZING lunch! I was watching a show (I can't remember if it was the Food Chanel or the Travel Chanel.....) about BBQ and the best places to go for great BBQ. Well, I am from the south, and I love me some BBQ! So....how to have BBQ?

Well, I too two oopsies, some oven roasted turkey breast lunch meat, and my Smokin' Joe Jones LC BBQ sauce, and made a mean BBQ sandwich! Ya'll, it was gooooooood! I thank GOD for oopsies! I actually picked it up and ate it like a big sloppy BBQ sandwich!!!! WooHoo!!

my oopsies last night didn't come out!!! second time now in a row!! I've made the 3x's and only the first time were they like the pics!!

i think the difference is the first time i used my hand wisk, the last 2x's i tried my mixer (which only has one beater to use, thanks to hubby and his innovative ways to mix drywall mud). So until i suck it up and buy a new mixer, i'll be doing it the hard way by hand!!! we'll see if it works!

GOOD LUCK DARLEEN!! on your new lower calorie attempt...make sure you don't starve yourself though either! I can't have the Atkins shakes, they give me the runs!!

Laura - sometimes i hit drive thru too, but what i've done is get like the grilled ckn wraps most of them have now, and break that up over one of the side salads or a caesar salad from them as well.. tastey, easy and on program!! you can do it tho!! good luck!!

Di - I finished my gardening for today, got alot done, will do other half later this week or next weekend. i think my plants shall live a few before i kill them all again!! hahaha all ready looks a lot better out tho!! rain storm is moving in so i'm off to work on dinner! i want to grill b4 i lets loose!!

anyone w/any other bread type recipe instead of oopsies that doesn't use cottage cheese or cream cheese?? maybe cream instead?? let me know if you have one! THANKS!!!

have good evening guys and if i don't catch ya later remember your WATER!!

good morning ladies!!

Laura, i'm sorry to hear about your "date"... he is not worth it! if he can't think to call and just stand you up, not once but twice, then he blew his shot! you are absolutely beautiful and whatever his problem is, is just that, HIS problem, not yours! Don't sweat it! Move on and forget his loser butt!!

I am on the late shift this week (11-7pm) so that should allow me time to fix brksts and prep lunch stuff this week. i am trying to thaw some salmon for lunch today.

i did get my gardening in yesterday and today boy do i feel sore!! i think i worked muscles i didn't know i had! LOL i was going to try to exercise this a.m. but i think i need today as recoup day and count the gardening as exercise. esp since it was HOURS out there doing it!! tomorrow will be exercise again.

i hope everyone has a great day! Happy monday!! I hope Darleen sees some LOSS SOON!! (i'm rooting for ya!!) and may the Woosh fairy grace us all this week! haha

hope to catch ya later on guys.. enjoy the day!

Thanks Jennifer. So far, no loss. I'm cutting my fat down today. So now I'm not really doing atkins induction anymore. More like Protein Power "thin so fast." I am beyond discouraged.

hey everyone!! i am soo excited to be going into week two....well, starting wednesday anyway!! i have some keto stix on hand, and as of this morning they say i am in the fat burning zone. im gonna finish induction this time!! i have decided to do only two weeks otherwise, i get bored and eat lots of high sugar food!!

jen, i WISH i had the answer for you on those yummy little oopsie rolls, but like i posted some time ago, mine have turned out only once out of the three times i have made them! it sounds like tiffjake has mastered it though....maybe she could share with us her secret!??

laura, i have a girlfriend who has had a similar situation arise in her life with a certian guy.....all i can say is, drop him!! he is not worth your time! you are a wonderful, beautiful woman and he does not deserve YOUR time if he thinks it is alright to treat someone that way. who needs someone like that?? it pays to be picky. you deserve the best, and the best you will have!!! i know its easy for me to offer advice when my feelings are not involved, im sure your feelings are hurt. thats the part that is rough. but in the end, you will be so proud of yourself.

i have been finsihing up my DANDR, and am really enjoying it. in fact, there was a paragraph that i wanted to share with you all, and now i cant remember what page it was on!!

BBl with menu. BTW, i was looking around linda sues web site...did you know that she posts menus for inductions along with there recipes!!! it makes it soooo simple! go check it out!Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home

have a great day,

vivi

Good morning everyone! I can't believe how much I miss when I'm gone a couple of days. I'll be trying to catch up for the next 2 or 3 days .

Laura - This guy doesn't even deserve your time. Time to kick his sorry butt to the curb. You're far to smart and pretty to worry about him. The right guy is out there somewhere.

Went out first things this morning and walked 3 miles and then came home and worked out on my Total Gym. Feel great! Good thing I went first thing this morning because it's raining now. However, I hope it rains for the rest of the day because we really need it after all the fires we had last week. So dry!!

Next month is the beginning of our hurricane season. I sure hope it's a mild one again. Right after the horrible ones we had in 2004 my husband bought a generator. Luckily we haven't had to use it yet and I hope we never do.

I have to run but I'll try and pop in later. Keep up the good work ladies!!!

Mary

COMEBACKS FOR PICK-UP LINES:

Man: "Haven't we met before?"
Woman: "Yes, I'm the receptionist at the VD Clinic."

Man: "Haven't I seen you someplace before?
Woman: "Yeah, that's why I don't go there anymore."

Man: "Is this seat empty?"
Woman: "Yes, and this one will be too if you sit down."

Man: "So, wanna go back to my place ?"
Woman: "Well, I don't know. Will two people fit under a rock?"

Man: "Your place or mine?"
Woman: "Both. You go to yours and I'll go to mine."

Man: "I'd like to call you. What's your number?"
Woman: "It's in the phone book."
Man: "But I don't know your name."
Woman: "That's in the phone book too."

Man: "So what do you do for a living?"
Woman: "I'm a female impersonator."

Man: "What sign were you born under?"
Woman: "No Parking."

Man: "Hey, baby, what's your sign?"
Woman: "Do not Enter"

Man: "How do you like your eggs in the morning?"
Woman: "Unfertilized !"

Man: "Hey, come on, we're both here at this bar for the same reason"
Woman: "Yeah! Let's pick up some chicks!"

Man: "I'm here to fulfill your every sexual fantasy."
Woman: "You mean you've got both a donkey and a Great Dane?"

Man: "I know how to please a woman."
Woman: "Then please leave me alone."

Man: "I want to give myself to you."
Woman: "Sorry, I don't accept cheap gifts."

Man: "I can tell that you want me."
Woman: "Ohhhh. You're so right. I want you to leave."

Man: "If I could see you naked, I'd die happy:
Woman: "Yeah, but if I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing."

Man: "Hey cutie, how 'bout you and I hitting the hot spots?"
Woman: "Sorry, I don't date outside my species.."

Man: "Your body is like a temple."
Woman: "Sorry, there are no services today."

Man: "I'd go through anything for you."
Woman: "Good! Let's start with your bank account."

Man: "I would go to the end of the world for you.
Woman: "Yes, but would you stay there?"
