Hi Everyone,
In need of advice I am done with the 2 weeks induction and I lost 4lbs but now I am up 3 pounds because I am premenstral. Should I continue with induction or should I go to phase 2 I am in-between and I feel less bloated every night I have lost an inch on my hips 1/2 inch on my abs, 1 inch on my thighs and 1/2 inch on my arm. What do you think? |

good morning everyone! atleast i think so?!
sounds like Di didn't have much sleep so maybe she'll not agree with that statement! sometimes i have problems sleeping too but not like my sister. she only gets maybe 2-3 hrs a night. i think some of her meds for anxiety attacks contribute to that though. i know when i can't sleep, i make some warm milk and honey (no, it's not on program really tho!!).. just nuke some milk in a cup and add honey to your taste... the heating of the milk releases some stuff that is a natural relaxer.. of course higher fat milk is better but 1% works ok too, just not as quick. i think i want to place a netrition order... maybe the liquid stevia and i may want to try a divinci syrup or even the carbquick.. i'm not sure!! i will have to limit my spending spree but since i've not order any of their items (except ketostix) i want to try a bit of everything!! any recommendations or suggestions??! whats your favorite item you HAVE to have on hand to stay on program?? ![]() i haven't had breakfast yet, my microwave crapped yesterday (only got it in oct/nov of '07 too!) so my 1 min muffin won't be on the menu!! haha i'll post later a menu. have a good day everyone! it's hump day!!

Good morning everyone!
Well, as far as the sleep thing goes I've always used liquid Melatonin (comes in pills as well). This is something our body produces anyway. I've used it for years especially when travelling to take care of jet lag because it kicks your body clock back into sync. My husband used it when he was working days and going to school at night because he couldn't shut his mind down so this would help him sleep. This is not something that is addictive. This is the best thing that I know of. Got up this morning and had gained a pound . Guess I'll workout a little longer this morning. I'm not going to dwell on it though because I know I will lose it again.... ![]() I'll be back later. Mary ![]() GRANDMA The other day I went up to a local Christian bookstore and saw a, 'Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting, so I bought the sticker and put in on my bumper. I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good He is and I didn't notice that the light had changed. It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed. I found that LOTS of people love Jesus. Why, while I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and when he leaned out of his window and screamed, "for the love of God, GO! GO!" What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus. Everyone started honking! I just leaned out of my window and started waving and smiling at all these loving people. I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love. There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach... I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. When I asked my teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant, he said that it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something. Well, I've never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign back. My grandson burst out laughing, why even he was enjoying this religious experience. A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed. So, I waved to all my sisters and brothers grinning, and drove on through the intersection. I noticed I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and I felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared, so I slowed the car down, leaned out of the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!

Christina, I used to get melatonin at GNC but they stopped selling the original liquid form and, instead, had replaced it with vanilla flavored which my husband didn't like. I now buy mine from drugstore.com but you might be able to find elsewhere.

Hello Ladies!!
I was going to say good morning, but it's almost noon where some of you live! Hi Tricia, I actually exercise in the mornings, hardly ever in the evenings. Mainly because I sweat like a man!! LOL!!! I hope you see some lbs down this week!!! ![]() Hi Laura, you described my sleeping pattern! I'm half awake and half a sleep! Isn't that how dogs sleep! LOL!!! Oh and I'm so glad you're down the 14.5 lbs! That's great!!!! Whoohoo!!! ![]() Hi Jen, even though I don't get much sleep, I'm always in a good mood! That is unless of course, my bosses are in here bothering me! LOL!! But I can survive with little sleep, surprisingly! If I go to be early, I wake up early, if I go to bed late I still wake up early! Golly, I haven't had a glass of milk in boy months! I forgot what it tastes like! LOL!! I didn't know that worked, I thought it was only in the movies!! I guess it does!Try the carbquick, you can do alot with that! Maybe some liquid Stevia, or a protein poweder. Designer whey is good, unless someone else has any suggestions. Hi Mary, thank you for sharing that product. I may have to get me some of that too! Good to know, it's not addictive. I agree, water retention! I am so dense! I had to read the joke 3 x's before I got it!! Hello!!! ![]() Hi Christina! Oh sweetie, I guess I didn't understand what you said about the bed! I have had that happend to me too, oh it's terrible!!!I used to have heavy, crampy and clot like TOMS! I hated it!! Mine were 7 days. 2 years ago in April, I had a TOM for 24 days!!! I was so messed up from trying to take birth control pills. I said forget it and stopped! So that threw my cycle way off! Hi to Everyone who's not here yet!!! Ladies I hope you all have a great Day!!!

Diana thanks for the name of those baking products..Carbquick I will have to get some of that when I get past the induction stage. I got my supply of DaVinci syrups this morning and now i am off to Linda's site to find some good dessert recipes. for dessert last night I whipped up 3 tbsp of heavy cream and added 1 tbsp of the Walden chocolate syrup and it was fantastic..Bet I could freeze that and it would be like a dish of ice cream. I am going to try the pizza recipe for lunch today that Linda has for induction so I hope it turns out OK..I will post later to let you know how it turns out. Still no Ketosis but some one said that if you drink a lot of water that it flushes out so you don't get the ketosis..any ideas on this theory.. |

Hi Mary2!
No, I have the most boring-est menu!! I don't like cooking, but DH just told me that he has to have his potatoes! So now I have to buy them and make them. Or I can buy already made kind. Any suggestions??Hi Buddysgirl, You're welcome!! I know you'll find some good recipe too! I know if you look on the recipe thread here you can find something as well. I love Davinci's banana flavor, oh and I use it for my coffee too with some splenda flavored packets! Yum!! Hu Viv, I used to eat pork rinds by the bag. I love to dip them in onion dip, salsa, guacamole, or throw cheese on them and nuke it until it melts. Like nachos. I like them. I eat celery pieces or radishes, roll some ham up and dip in seasoned mayo, or turkey slices. You can munch on boiled eggs too. If you're hungry then just eat until you're full. Talk to you all later!! |

Hi again!
Buddysgirl...yes..if you drink alot of water your Ketosis sticks will not be dark. I drink around 100 oz a day and mine are only light pink. Water dilutes your Ketosis when you use the sticks...they are not very accurate anyway I dont think. Diana...I got some ideas about John wanting his potatoes. Mike is the same way and I keep regular russets and sweet potatoes here at home and just wrap them in plastic wrap, cut slices in them so they wont explode and nuke them till they are done. I have a baked potato setting on my microwave so I dont know how long it takes but its so much better than heating up your home for just 1 potato. They also make the mashed potatoes that are in the Dairy Section that you can buy and just heat those up for him. Or get frozen hash brown and just put them in the skillet and brown them up. Easy enough so you wont have that much cooking to do. Hey Mary, I think I will order mine too if I cant find it around here. That is not a bad price on it. TY! Moretta and Buddysgirl..Thanks...I really go thru TOM time really bad ever since I had my son about 4 years ago. I do just like Diana did so if I dont pop my head in here but every so often every few days you all will know why. I have my legs up in a chair while I type this now.OK..I have got to go and get my grilled chicken going for supper. I will try to catch you all later. Everyone have a great evening! Thank You Christina!! Good ideas!!! I'll look for those pre-cooked kind. When I buy the bags, I don't use them all and they get spoiled. I may have to make him some scallops or something with them.

WOW my pizza turned out fantastic I followed the recipe here
Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes with these modifications 3.6 oz cheddar 4.3 oz mozza 2 eggs a dash of garlic powder, oregano and parsley I cooked it for the exact time specified in recipe checking after 10 mim to lift edges of crust..took it out and used a paper towel to blot then I took 1 oz tomato sauce and spread it evenly over the crust with a pastry brush and added 1.5oz mozza , added 1 oz green olives,1 oz mushrooms,1 oz chopped onion, and 2 oz peperoni that had all been sauted in a pan prior to heat it up.Put it under the broiler to melt the extra cheese ![]() Last edited by buddysgirl50 : 05-14-2008 at 01:48 PM. |
